Story
Meet Gilly! This sweet 6 year old Maltese is the total package! She is gentle, sweet, happy, and affectionate. She enjoys laying on her foster mom's lap, going for walks, and lounging by the fire place. Gilly came from a farm, but is loving life as a house dog! She is almost completely house trained, with only one potty accident since coming to her foster home! Our Gilly girl likes to go for walks, but does pull mildly. She gets along with other dogs, ignores cats, and doesn't mind small animal pets. Gilly would be happy as the only pet in the home, or with animal companions. Gilly is too ladylike to roughhouse with rowdy young dogs, and much prefers her calm foster siblings over the rowdy ones. Gilly is currently crated when her foster mom goes away, but is very well behaved and could likely graduate to having a dog safe space without a crate once adopted. This pup is an easy going, happy go lucky gal who is more than ready to have her forever family! She loves ALL people and would do well in most any home! Gilly is fostered in the Lancaster, Pa area. She is spayed, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and has been treated with flea and worm preventions. Please apply online at www.zoeshouserescue.com Kennel License #9117 PO Box 2372 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Meet Coconut (Coco for short)- read what her foster mom has to say about her.Coco is an 8 yo Maltese weighing 8 lbs that we rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. I am still getting to know her and my other foster Cashmere who came in with Coco.  She is learning what it means to live in a home - steps, new noises, doors, touch, TV’s, leashes etc. She also had to have 20 teeth taken out as all decayed and spayed so it was a lot for a dog who spent 8 years in a cage to adjust to. She also had double ear infections to treat.  These poor dogs in these kennels are used as mill mama’s and it always takes time for them to trust people and new surroundings.  She is learning to go potty outside, walk around the neighborhood on a leash, enjoying good soft food and feeling so much healthier with those teeth gone and ears healed. She and Cashmere are scared but at the same time love to be petted.  I have learned from many mill fosters to keep the leash on and keep them with me and regularly pick up and love and hold them so they get used to it. She loves liverwurst, chicken and beef hot dogs so she will come and take from my hand.  I am seeing strides made every day.  She is good in the crate but I do take her out every 3 hours to potty train.  We are working on a dry crate through the night but have not gotten there yet.  She will need a fenced yard and another calm dog in the home to show her the ropes and build her confidence. If you are willing to understand it will take time, lots of patience, moving slowly, regular routines, it will be worth it.  Mill dogs make the best pets ever who will bond with you forever. Her fur is growing in as she came in shaved.  The brown is from licking with a mouth full of bacteria from bad teeth and with good food and regular grooming, her looks will blossom. Coconut is now spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250.00. If interested in adopting Coconut,  please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Meet Gizmo - Gizmo is a 1-year-old male Morkie (Maltese Yorkie Mix). He weighs 8.6 lbs.  Gizmo came to us from a commercial breeding kennel. He is a very sweet dog who loves to snuggle and hang out with his humans. He currently is living in a foster home with another small foster brother and 2 other large older resident dogs and gets along well with all. He is playful and would do well with a playful dog or could be your one and only. He would be happy either way. Gizmo was very sweet with all the young children and teenagers he met at an event recently so a home with children would be fine. Since Gizmo is in a home with a fenced-in yard, leash walking is an unknown at this point. He comes when called so he would do fine with a yard without a fence. He is still working on potty training, and it’s been a process that is ongoing. Gizmo will let you know when he needs something and once his needs are met, he remains quiet. He likes to have a snack at bedtime and will sleep quietly in his crate, and his crate remains dry overnight. Cats are also an unknown, but he had no reaction to the cats he encountered at the rescue office. Gizmo has been neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots and started on a heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $500.00.If you are interested in adopting Gizmo, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Say Hello to Winston. Winston is a 7-year-old male Maltese that weighs all of 4 lbs. Winston came to us from a commercial breeding kennel. Most people see him and think he’s a puppy because of his tiny size, but he is fully grown and is small in stature. Winston is a sweet and quiet dog who loves to cuddle with the other dogs in the foster home. Winston is in a home with a fenced-in yard so leash walking is an unknown at this point; but with his low energy, you could put him outside and let him walk around freely he will not stray far. He also comes easily when called. Winston had dental cleaning and it was determined that all his remaining teeth needed to be removed so a soft food diet would be best for him. He doesn’t let the lack of teeth slow him down and he eats the soft food very well. He is still working on potty training, and it’s been a process that is ongoing. Winston was a huge hit at a recent event, with small children and adults alike. He let everyone pet him who asked so a home with children is not a problem. Winston travels very well in a car and has gone out on adventures with his foster dad tucked inside his jacket. Winston does not require another dog but if he did have a furry sibling, he would need to be friendly, tolerant and willing to let Winston cuddle with them. Winston likes a snack at bedtime and will sleep quietly in his crate, and his crate has remained dry overnight. Cats are unknown at this point, but he had no reaction to the cats he encountered at the rescue. Winston has been neutered, had a dental cleaning and is UTD on shots and started on a heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $300.00. Hello, my name is: SpencerApprox. DOB: 07/22/2022Weight: 5.1 lbsSex/Breed: Neutered male MalteseRescued From: Breeding kennelSpencer is a gentle little Maltese rescued from a breeding kennel, and he’s slowly learning how wonderful life can be. He’s timid and would do best in a calm, quiet home with someone patient who will let him build trust at his own pace.Even though he’s still a bit nervous, Spencer happily greets his foster family with a wagging tail when they come home, and once he’s comfortable, he enjoys couch snuggles and gives the sweetest kisses. He does great with other dogs and would love a home with canine friends to help show him the way. A fenced yard would be ideal since he loves going outside and sniffing around.Spencer is still learning potty training and leash walking, but he’s an easygoing, very good boy who’s trying his best. With love and patience, he’ll make an incredibly loyal and loving companion.Help us continue to step up for dogs like Spencer and consider donating towards their medical care: https://www.zeffy.com/en-US/donation-form/donate-to-make-a-difference-in-animals-livesAll our dogs are microchipped, spayed/neutered, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives.Interested in adopting? Story
Tatianna better known as Tati Tati is a beautiful 3 year old Bichon who was luckily released from a commercial breeder at a young age. Although she is petite at just 10 1/2 pounds, she is mighty. She is strong, smart and curious. The more comfortable she’s gotten in her foster home, the more relaxed and inquisitive she’s become. Her forever family will need to earn her trust and be patient as she learns the ins and outs of becoming a well-loved family member. A confident resident pup is required as she continues to model her behavior. She very much follows the cues of her foster fur brothers and sisters. Tati is being fostered with dogs of her size and she gets along with everyone. She would enjoy a more playful companion. Children in her forever home should be older and respectful of dogs. Tati still startles at quick movements and loud noises. A fenced yard will be safest for her until she trusts her family to keep her safe. She is making good progress with house-training. Some regression in a new environment should be expected. Tati is crate trained during the day but enjoys sleeping in the bed with her pack. Tati is spayed and had a dental with some extractions. She is up to date with vaccines and is microchipped. She is being fostered in Collegeville, Montgomery County. A home visit and meet and greet with all residents including pets is part of the application process. If you can give this little princess the home she’s been dreaming of, apply at www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Rescue Sinking Spring, PA Kennel license 9117

Not good with kids, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
My name is Winter, aka Winnie, aka Win-win and I am the cutest little 4-year-old, 10 lb. Bichon. I was rescued from a commercial breeder and I love that my new life includes a home with lots of dog beds. I LOVE my own space to lie down, my foster mom has a bed for me in every room, and I prefer to watch family life from the safety and comfort of my own personal space. I am so small that I even like to curl up on a couch pillow. I would do best in a calm home with people who patiently respect the fact that I am learning how to be a dog. I would be ok without kids or with kids over the age of 8ish who will understand that even though I look like a stuffed animal, I do NOT like to be picked up and held. I could be your one and only true love or I would be happy to live with another furry friend who is relaxed and who will respect my small size and chill nature. I live with 2 big dogs now and I do like to cuddle up with them and follow them outside, but I am happy just to relax next to my favorite humans. I am an escape artist and I figured out how to wiggle under my fenced in yard so my foster parents had to secure the fence to keep me safe. I would do well with a fenced in yard, with a fence that goes right to the ground. I was spayed and I am UTD on vaccinations and microchipped. I had an Xray of my right hip which showed some degenerative changes, but I don't appear to be in any discomfort. I will need to be on joint supplementation for the rest of my life, but I take medication without a problem when it's tucked into some soft food. I also had to have a few teeth pulled, but my foster mom says that I look like an adorable first grader, missing my front teeth. Potty training is a work in progress, if I am taken out at regular intervals, I am ok, I do get a little confused at night about waiting until the morning, but I am working on that. Regression is normal in new environments. If you are looking for a loyal companion and the cutest little button of a dog, I am your girl. I am being fostered in Western Berks County, PA. www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Rescue Kennel License 9117 Sinking Spring, PA 19608
