For most of his life, his only job was making puppies, so he’s still learning what it means to simply be a loved family dog. Heff is a very sweet little guy, but he’s understandably shy and unsure in new situations due to limited socialization. He enjoys being gently picked up and petted, though he may be nervous at first. While he doesn’t seek out attention yet, it’s clear he wants to trust and is making progress every day. Heff will need a patient adopter who understands that love, time, and consistency will help him continue to blossom. He thrives around other dogs and must have a confident canine companion in his new home to help him learn the routines of family life and build his confidence. A quiet home without young children would be the best fit for Heff. CASHMERE is also still looking for her furever home. Cashmere(Cash) is a 7 yo Maltese weighing 12 lbs that we rescued from a commercial breeding kennel. Cash had to have her remaining teeth removed due to decay but has no trouble eating food. She has a great appetite and runs over when hears the refrigerator door opening. She goes potty outside, walks daily around the neighborhood on a leash, enjoys good soft food and exploring the yard. She is good with every dog we meet and our pitbull. She is good in the crate overnight and I have left her for 4-5 hours during the day with no problem. She knows “go potty”. Her crate has also been dry overnight. She will also be happy to sleep in your bed with you all night. She knows come, time to eat, let’s go for a walk, and of course No. She will need another calm dog in the home to show her the ropes and build her confidence. I do have a fenced yard and that would be preferred as she loves it. But if no fence, she will need to be on a leash to be safe and need a daily walk or two. She is still shy and will need someone with patience and know that it takes time for them to trust you. Mill dogs make the best pets ever who will bond with you forever. Cashmere is now spayed, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. She tested negative for heartworm and has been started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250.00. Baxter is a 12-pound, 2-3-year-old Malti Tzu (a Maltese and Shih Tzu mix), and he embodies all the best, sweetest traits of both breeds. Ater a few days in his foster home, Baxter found his voice. Yes he has that Maltese trait. For this reason, Baxter is not suited to apartment life. Baxter was found as a stray in Nashville after someone suspected he’d been hit by a car and brought him to the emergency vet. Thankfully, there were no broken bones, but he is currently healing from a sore back leg. (He’ll have X-rays taken when he’s neutered on 7/7.) We wish Baxter could tell us what happened and how he ended up on his own—it’s hard to imagine any family not wanting such a sweet boy. Baxter is both a people-lover and a dog’s dog! Hi everyone, my name is Fleurette! 🌸 As my name suggests, I am just a little flower and I am looking for the very best home where I can bloom! I am a 3 year old, 13 pound Bichon/Poodle mix. Thankfully, I was recently surrendered by a commercial breeder who bred me over and over again so they could make money off the sale of my puppies. Due to the conditions I spent the first few years of my life in, I am still quite timid and nervous around people. However, I am slowly but surely learning what it means to be a loved pet in a home and that people can be caring. 💕 My foster family says even though it takes time for me to warm up to new people, once I'm comfortable, I'm able to relax and enjoy their company. My furry foster brother has been really important in helping me learn what it means to be a loved dog. It will be essential that I go to a home with another confident dog who will help me continue to learn what it means to be a loved pet, to feel safe, and who I can look to when something new comes up. I will need a calm and quiet home and for my furever family to be patient with me. One of my favorite ways to spend the afternoons and evenings with my foster family is curled up on the couch getting little snuggles and pets. 🏡 I am crate trained and I spend the day in there while my foster parents are at work and I sleep in it at night too. I am learning how to walk well on a leash but I can still be a little on edge with new sights, smells, and sounds so I would really like my foster sibling to walk with us too. I am doing really good with potty training but accidents are to be expected until I understand the routine in my new home. 🐾 Due to my Bichon/Poodle coat, I will need regular grooming.
