Meet Angdo A little girl who would rather be close to you than anywhere else.   2 years old | Spayed female Maltese / Shih Tzu mix 3.6 kg (7.9 lb) | 30 cm tall Gray & white   Her rescue story Angdo was rescued alongside Homil from a hoarding home where 56 dogs were living in a small, overcrowded space. Without proper care, the dogs had endured unsanitary conditions, surrounded by waste and a strong smell. AKR rescued five dogs from the home, helping them begin a new chapter with grooming, veterinary care, and a safe place to rest.   Now in foster care, Angdo is showing just how much she loves people.   A friend to everyone Angdo happily approaches familiar faces and strangers alike, rubbing against them and leaning in for affection. She approaches men, too, offering her little head for pets. She is comfortable being picked up with support under her body and will even show her belly to someone she has just met.   Dogs & cats Angdo greets unfamiliar dogs but usually prefers people to canine playmates. She is more comfortable with dogs her size or smaller and can find high-energy dogs overwhelming. A calm companion who respects her space would suit her better than an enthusiastic playmate.   She is currently sharing her foster home with cats.   Little walks, little discoveries Bring out her harness, and Angdo comes running! She slips her head in and heads straight for the door, ready to go.   On walks, she enjoys taking in the world, sometimes pausing for a few seconds to watch passing people or dogs. Fallen leaves are her favourite bathroom spot. With around four walks a day in her foster home, she is now doing her business outdoors rather than inside.   Calm company Angdo has a low energy level and loves resting quietly. She settles calmly in a kennel, and her foster family has yet to hear her bark!   She has shown no signs of separation anxiety in her current foster home and usually sleeps when people are out. However, other dogs and cats are still there with her, so her response to being completely alone in a new home may be different.   Mealtimes Angdo does not guard food from people or other dogs. In fact, she has a small appetite and can be a selective eater. A sprinkle of dried chicken breast over her kibble has helped her eat better, although she sometimes leaves a little behind.   Angdo is looking for a gentle family who will enjoy her quiet company, take her on little sniffing adventures, and give her all the affection she so happily asks for. Meet Raon!   2 years old | Female | Spayed Maltese/Poodle Mix 4.8 kg | 34 cm at the shoulder Tan   Raon was found wandering around a factory, where she had been left and was in danger. Now, this affectionate little girl is looking for a safe, loving home to call her own.   Raon loves people and happily approaches both familiar faces and new friends for attention. She’ll rub against you and enjoys being petted. She also lived well with a middle-school-aged child and got along well. She is comfortable being picked up.   She’s just as friendly with other dogs and likes to say hello and invite them to play! Raon is most comfortable with dogs around her own size, as large dogs can be a little scary for her.   When she sees cats on walks, she watches them with curiosity but will follow along when guided away. A cat test can be arranged if needed.   Raon has a moderate energy level. She enjoys outdoor activities and walks, and she’s happy to relax afterward. She can pull on the leash, but generally follows her person well.   When Raon first arrived in her current foster home, she was understandably anxious in the unfamiliar environment. For the first few days, she had trouble sleeping, barked and wandered around, and sometimes howled when her caregiver left. It took her about a week to settle in. Now that she feels more comfortable, she doesn’t bark unnecessarily, although she may bark when she hears noises outside.   Raon doesn’t guard her food from people or other dogs. She currently uses both indoor pee pads and goes potty outside. She may whine in a kennel and is working on becoming more comfortable with it.   Raon will need a patient family who understands that she may need time to feel safe and settle into a new home. Meet Lumi   Lumi is a sweet little Poodle who spent her life in a raised wire cage as a grooming practice dog. She was rescued in August and is now living in a foster home, where she is learning to enjoy life as a loved companion.   Name: Lumi Age: 4 years Sex: Spayed female Breed: Poodle Colour: Silver and white Weight: 3.7 kg (8.2 lbs) Height: 27 cm (10.6 inches)   People Lumi is a friendly and affectionate girl who approaches both familiar people and strangers for attention. She loves being petted and will rub against people to say hello. She currently lives with children aged 3 and 5 in her foster home and is comfortable being gently picked up and held.   Dogs Lumi greets other dogs politely and gets along with them, although she doesn’t show much interest in playing with them. She prefers calm company and can feel a little overwhelmed by energetic dogs.   Cats When Lumi sees cats on walks, she tends to stay focused on her person. A cat test can be arranged if needed.   Energy and walks Lumi has a low energy level and enjoys spending her time relaxing. She walks nicely on leash without pulling and follows her person well. She does well in quiet areas, although she can be nervous around busy roads and traffic.   At home Lumi uses both pee pads and the outdoors for bathroom breaks, and she currently does most of her business outside. When someone is home, she uses her pee pads well.   Her foster family is currently away for approximately seven hours during the day. When left alone for that long, Lumi has accidents indoors and may step in them. Her foster family has tried leaving her in a smaller space, but this did not prevent the accidents, so they now leave several pee pads in the living room. Lumi may bark when her people leave and when they return, but she rarely barks otherwise.   Lumi would appreciate a family who can spend plenty of time with her, be patient as she settles in, and help her gradually adjust to a new routine.   She does not guard her food from people or other dogs. Lumi stays calm in a carrier, although she is afraid of car rides and needs to be carried into the car.   After everything she has been through, Lumi is ready for a loving home where she can feel safe and cherished.
