Story
**🏠 Currently in a Vancouver foster home** Hi! My name is Baekseol, and I'm a 2-year-old, 5 kg (11 lb) female Maltipoo looking for my forever family. I once had a home, but I was sadly abandoned. When I was rescued, I was wandering alone in the countryside while pregnant. Thankfully, I was brought to safety, gave birth to my puppies, and raised them successfully. All of my puppies are now thriving in their own foster homes, and now it's finally my turn to find a loving family. I'm a sweet, affectionate girl who absolutely loves being around people. I'm mostly house-trained, rarely bark, and enjoy going for walks. I'm not a picky eater and get along well with other dogs and children, but my favorite place is right by my human's side. I tend to warm up to women a little faster at first, but I'm not afraid of men. With a little love, attention, and a few tasty treats, I quickly become friends with everyone. It's been less than a year since I became a mom, and now I'm ready for a new chapter of my own. I'm hoping to find a family who will love, cherish, and stand by me for the rest of my life. Could you be the one to give me the happy ending I've been waiting for? 🤍

Story
Meet Mochi! Some things are just better when they’re sweet, and Mochi is one of them! Mochi is a 1.5-year-old, 8.5 lb Maltipoo who is currently being fostered in Richmond Hill and is ready to find his forever family. With his fluffy white coat, adorable face and sweet little personality, Mochi is pretty irresistible. His coat doesn’t shed, although, like all Maltipoos, he’ll need regular grooming to keep him looking his best. Mochi absolutely LOVES his people. He’s a loyal little companion who wants to be wherever his favourite person is and will happily follow you around the house. He also loves going for car rides and is perfectly happy to curl up in his crate when it’s time to relax. His crate has become his own cozy little space, and he sleeps peacefully there all night. And just like the delicious treat he’s named after, Mochi is sweet, smart and a little bit irresistible! He has a BIG love of treats, which makes training him extra fun. He already knows “sit,” has a great recall and is eager to learn more. His perfect family will continue helping him learn and grow with plenty of positive reinforcement and yummy rewards! Mochi gets very excited when he’s out on walks and LOVES saying hello to the world around him. He can pull on leash and may bark when he’s especially excited to meet people or other dogs. He is friendly with dogs for the most part, but we think Mochi would really enjoy being the only pet in his home, where he can have all the attention to himself and be his family’s one and only. Mochi is still working on his potty training, and his foster family is patiently helping him along. He was recently neutered, so we’re hopeful that some of his marking will settle as he adjusts. He’s making progress and just needs a family who will continue to give him consistency, patience and lots of encouragement. Mochi is also a little watchdog and will happily let you know when something catches his attention. He isn’t excessively barky, and his foster mom thinks he could do well in an apartment as long as he has his crate and a cozy space where he can relax and feel secure. We are looking for an adult-only home for Mochi. He isn’t always comfortable with quick movements or little hands, so we want his new home to be a calm environment where he can feel safe, understood and respected. Mochi does best when his boundaries are respected, and if something makes him uncomfortable, he may let you know with a little growl. His forever family will need to give him time to build trust and understand his communication. Mochi is such a special little guy. He’s affectionate, loyal, clever, happy and absolutely full of personality. He’s the kind of little companion who wants to be part of your everyday life — whether that means coming along for a car ride, learning something new for a tasty treat or simply curling up nearby in his favourite cozy spot. All Mochi needs now is the right person to give him the love, structure, patience and guidance he deserves. In return, you’ll get a whole lot of sweetness in one very adorable little package. We think Mochi is ready to find his perfect match — could that be you? ************* As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

TOFFEE APPLICATIONS PAUSED! We’ve received so many applications for Toffee, so we’re pausing new applications for now. Please check out our other adoptable dogs too — so many amazing pups are still waiting!   Meet Toffee — A Sweet, People-Loving Little Gentleman!   Name: Toffee Age: 7 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Maltese / Poodle Mix Colour: Brown Weight: 3.8 kg (8.4 lbs) Height: 28 cm (11 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story   Toffee was found wandering around an apartment complex and was brought to a municipal shelter. He is now looking for a loving forever home where he can enjoy plenty of affection and companionship.   Personality & People   Toffee is a very friendly and affectionate little guy who genuinely loves people. He happily approaches both familiar faces and strangers, rubs against them for attention, and is comfortable being touched and handled.   He can easily be picked up with an arm under his belly and will even show his belly to people he has just met. He’s the type of dog who would much rather be close to his humans than off doing his own thing.   With Other Dogs   Toffee will approach unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but he generally isn’t interested in playing with them. He definitely prefers people over dogs.   He can feel intimidated by larger or high-energy dogs and will usually avoid them. He also doesn’t appreciate dogs who repeatedly pester him to play, so a home where his personal space is respected would suit him best.   With Cats   Toffee’s reaction to cats has not yet been observed, but a cat test can be arranged upon request.   Energy Level   Toffee has a moderate energy level. He enjoys getting outside and being active, but after his outdoor time, he is happy to settle down and relax quietly.   Walking   Toffee is an experienced and enjoyable walking companion. He loves going for walks, follows his handler well, and generally walks nicely without pulling on the leash.   Other Behaviours   • No food guarding toward people or other dogs • Generally calm when placed in a kennel, but if he makes eye contact with someone, he may whine or bark to ask to be let out • Primarily does his business outdoors    Health Note:Toffee recently had a dental cleaning and 9 teeth extracted due to poor dental condition when he was rescued. He is currently eating dry kibble without any issues. Other than his dental condition, we have not been informed of any other health concerns at this time.   Toffee would be a wonderful match for someone looking for a small, affectionate companion who enjoys walks but is equally happy relaxing by your side. At 7 years old, he’s past the puppy stage and knows exactly what he loves most: his people. Apply to adopt or foster: https://adoptmekr.org  PLEASE ALSO VISIT OUR FACEBOOK AND INSTAGRAM! Meet Odi — A Sweet, Easygoing Poodle Mix Looking for His Forever Home!   Name: Odi Age: 5 years old Sex: Neutered Male Breed: Poodle Mix Colour: Black Weight: 5.7 kg (12.6 lbs) Height: 36 cm (14 in) at the shoulder   Rescue Story   Odi arrived at a municipal shelter already fully groomed, but sadly no one came to claim him. When he was placed on the euthanasia list, he was rescued and given a second chance.   Personality & People   Odi is a friendly, affectionate little guy who genuinely enjoys being around people. He happily approaches both familiar people and strangers, rubs against them for attention, and is comfortable being touched.   He is friendly with both men and women and can easily be picked up with an arm under his belly. He may even roll over and show his belly to someone he has just met!   With Other Dogs   Odi is polite with other dogs but is much more people-oriented than dog-oriented. He will approach unfamiliar dogs to say hello, but generally has little interest in playing or interacting beyond that.   If another dog is overly pushy with him, he may give a small growl to communicate that he would like some space. Otherwise, he coexists peacefully with other dogs and does not look for conflict. He simply seems to prefer spending time with people or relaxing on his own.   With Cats   Odi has been cat-tested and did well. A cat-test video is available.   Energy Level   Odi has a moderate energy level. He enjoys walks and being outdoors, but once his outdoor activities are done, he is happy to settle down and relax quietly.   Walking   Odi is an experienced and easy walking companion. He does not pull on leash and follows his handler well.   For Odi, walks are all about the smells! He likes to stop frequently to sniff and explore rather than simply walking from point A to point B. He also enjoys marking outdoors.   Other Behaviours   Odi:   Shows no food guarding toward people or other dogs Rarely barks Settles calmly in a kennel/crate Does not get carsick Is currently accustomed to going to the bathroom outdoors   Because Odi tends to mark more when he is around many dogs, there may be some marking during the first day or two while adjusting to a new environment. Using a belly band temporarily can help during the transition. When one was used with him for about a day, he stopped trying to mark indoors.   Odi would be a wonderful match for someone looking for an affectionate, people-loving companion who enjoys his walks but is also happy to relax quietly at home. He doesn’t need a canine playmate to keep him entertained — being close to his person is more his style.   If you think Odi could be the one for you, please apply! Story
When Mulberry was captured by urban management, he was not in pretty shape - he had a cataract in his eye, his fur was matted, long, and dirty. We suspect he was abandoned by his owner due to his old age and eye problem. One day Mulberry couldn't get up from his crate, he was immediately taken to the vet and we found out he had pancreatitis. After his care ended, someone said they would adopt Mulberry so our rescuer fought to get him out of the urban management shelter. Unfortunately, they backed out. Now, Mulberry lives with many other dogs at the rescuer's own sanctuary, but we hope someone kind can bring him home and give him the life he deserves. This poor boy had been through so much, yet still so kind and friendly. Mulberry is currently in China, and available to fly to you in the coming months. Please send us an email if you are interested in learning more about him and our adoption process!
