Story
Comet was being Euthanized by his owners, he was with one family 8 years. When they moved from a house to an apartment he became anxious and bit when trying to get him from under the bed. Comet has been in my rescue and my house ever since while I try to find him a new home. He's been through behavioral training and would do best in a home with not other pets, he is a very young 8 year old and having a nice walk everyday keeps him healthy and happy. He enjoys chasing squirrels and acting like a dog. He's actually a great protector and would do great with an active owner . He is neutered, microchipped, UTD on shots and on HW and flea prevention. Please reach out to me personally I would love to discuss Comet I will be happy to answer any questions. Jenna Hughes founder of For The Love of Cats Rescue 214-405-4384 No Cats No kids No dogs

IDEAL HOME: Do you have a heart for senior pups with lots of life left? Perfect! Debbie is ready for her next chapter. Do you enjoy snuggling and have the ability to both give and receive love and adoration? Excellent! This little darling is all about the cuddles and movie marathons. She enjoys a soft food diet, but she’s also been known to sneak whatever table foods you might drop. Debbie’s eyes aren’t what they used to be, but she sees well enough to explore new places confidently. She just needs a little supervision where depth perception is important like stairs and porches. She needs a consistent potty routine/schedule to support her house-training. She’s been working hard to give up those pee pads in exchange for grass. She will “talk” to you when she needs to go outside or needs her water bowl refilled. PERSONALITY: Little Debbie is so easy to love. She’s brave, curious, and snuggly. She wants to be where the people are! She likes comfy chairs, soft mattresses, and cozy blankets. She does not like her crate but will tolerate it with a bit of protest. She promises to be a good girl if you’ll just leave her out to nap on the couch. She’s a low-energy doodle–a little exploring in a safely enclosed yard, and she’s ready for a nap. Debbie is just happy to spend time with her family–kids, other gentle pups, men, women (maybe, cats)…she’s content to be included. She quickly adjusts to routines and likes quiet predictability and steady companionship. Not much rattles Debbie. She’s been unphased by both storms and cows recently. Is Little Debbie Your Treat? Debbie’s adoption fee is $250. She is HW-negative, current on vaccinations and HW/flea preventatives, spayed, and microchipped. All adoption fees go toward expenses like medical costs and food for Doodle Dandy dogs and help make it possible for us to continue giving amazing pups like Debbie a second chance. Story
Gatsby is a senior male Maltipoo, age 12 to 13, who is blind in one eye. He still has plenty of companionship to give. With the right home and understanding environment, he can be a deeply rewarding and loyal pet. Gatsby would thrive in an adult-only home with an experienced dog owner who is patient and will allow him time to adjust. He is crate and potty trained. Gatsby can be wary of strangers and requires slow, structured introductions to new people. Once he feels safe, he settles well and is affectionate with his trusted humans. He has done best in environments where his space and boundaries are respected. Gatsby was received as a foster along with two other dogs 2+ years ago after his former foster human, a professional dog trainer, passed away suddenly. Our circumstances have changed and we are no longer able to foster as many dogs. Finding a home for Gatsby will avoid the need to surrender him to a shelter where he would face euthanasia.

Story
Caleb is a lovely 2 years old Maltipoo.I purchased him when he was 9 weeks old.He is loving. Loves to play ball catch. He loves going for car rides and will rush to the door will u say car ride. Really needs to be walked everyday. He has lots of playful energy. He is strictly an indoor pet. He loves the outside yard to run and play. It really hurts to adopt him out but I can no care for him as needed. i want him to have a loving caring and responsible new owner. Once he bonds with you he will always be right by ur side. He can be a little moody/independent finding his own space to lay around and sleep. But he is crate trained. Must make sure you take for walks as male dogs like to mark their territory. He is a beautiful dog well cared. He is small has short legs and weighs 12 lbhace all hus medical records. He is in good health a solid little guy.

Story
Ace will listen to commands. He’s very friendly. He loves the backyard. He’s great with cats and great with kids. My wife is pregnant and we just can’t keep him. He does have a slight flea issue right now and with a new baby on the way we can’t really afford it. We think ace will do great with someone who has a spacious backyard, more time to take him out. Due to our busy lives and work schedule, we haven’t stay consistent with potty training him. Ace has been a big part of our family but we feel that it’s best for him to go to a loving home, and a loving family! Ace really is a sweet boy and is a joy to be around.

Story
Sparky is 5 years old and a good boy. He is loyal, playful, and loves his ball and toys. He is fully potty trained, does not tear things up, and is comfortable in his crate, which he actually enjoys. He has done well around kids during holidays, but large gatherings can be overwhelming for him.Sparky does have some anxiety and tends to bond closely with one person. He has nipped in the past when feeling protective over attention, so he would do best in a calm home with a single owner or someone experienced who is home more often. We both work full time and feel he is not getting the environment he needs to truly thrive. This is not an easy decision. He is a sweet dog and deserves the right home. He will come with his crate, bed, food, treats, and toys.

Story
Bentley is being fostered in Illinois. Bentley has some vision.Bentley, a reserved, easy-going gentleman is looking for a calm, relaxed housemate/best friend. He was recently interviewed about his special search. What would your perfect “digs” include?-I am very shy, so it would have an area to sleep and dine privately with some storage for my soft, plushy toy stash. In addition I would need a second cozy dog bed for relaxing and just “being” closer to my human(s) in the common area.-Ideally it must also include green space. I love to be outdoors! The words “outside” or “walk” just start my tail a-wagging uncontrollably. (See video) A leisurely jaunt at a medium waddle with an occasional relaxed trot or a super fun “Sniffari” is enjoyed several times a day!Would you share the qualities you need in a housemate/best friend?- My person will need to be patient, intuitive and willing to take the time for trust building. (As an introvert, I can be a puzzle and full of contradictions). Here are a few examples....I require a large perimeter of personal space, but offer the same to my person. I am low-maintenance, well-mannered and not an in-your-face attention-seeker, yet I also feel safe and the most comfortable knowing my human is nearby. This makes me an ideal housemate for a retiree or a remote worker.A cuddle bug I am not, yet I have been known to fall asleep in a lap occasionally and I find head scratches or butt and back rubs absolutely irresistible.Meeting humans is difficult for me, yet I approach well-mannered dogs happily. What do you consider your finest quality?-I am agreeable. Dress me up in a silly sweater, wipe my dirty toes when I come in the house, give me a bath, take a car ride.....as long as I am with you, I’m all in.And your weakest?-I am working on conquering my insecurities. I get anxious when I am home alone for a long stretch, so I sometimes have potty accidents.Bentley, what else would you like to tell folks?-I sleep through the night and during the day it is my mission to provide quiet company, put a smile on your face and love in your heart.BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
Marty is being fostered in PA. 1-17-2026 Update for Marty Marty is doing really well in his foster home and is still a spunky little man with a bit of arthritis in his backend but it doesn't slow him down. Marty's hearing continues to be pretty good for his age and he is right in the mix of his foster siblings when Mom comes home after being out for any time. Marty's hair has grown in nicely on his back. He was almost bald when he came to his foster home. Marty's foster mom had never seen a change in a foster's personality quite as drastic as she did following Marty's dental, when all of his teeth had to be removed. Some teeth were so badly decayed that they had begun to calcify and attach to his jaw bones. After a few days of recovery, he began to eat and to be interested in the world. Marty eats soaked kibble with some soft food mixed in and eats every bite of each meal. He is now on 4 medications for his congestive heart failure and is doing very well with just an occasional cough. Fun facts about Marty: -He LOVES burrowing into beds that have a flap for him to crawl under -He is not safe when on furniture because he will quickly decide he wants off and give no warning and has no fear. -Marty never barks -Marty is smaller than the two cats in his foster home and really doesn't care. :) Little Marty is a sweet, easy-going little mini poodle guy who gets along with dogs and cats and people of all ages. His breed is guessed at as a full blooded mini poodle. His estimated age is about 13 but he's a very quick-stepping little man and enjoys exploring his environment, especially outside. He can find his way to the door and he was doing a great job at pottying outside until his foster mom went back to work a couple weeks ago. He will be very easy to get back in the habit of eliminating outside with a forever family who is home more. He's fairly easy to figure out in that, if he's up and exploring, he needs to go out. :) Marty has a very thin coat of fur on his torso but he does not have any visible skin issues and does not itch. His thyroid levels were checked and were fine. We know little about his past life so he may be recuperating from a past issue. Marty is leash trained and does well but because he's a small and older guy, walks won't be very fast. He also rides well in the car. At this time, he seems to enjoy dog bed hopping over being on a lap and he will walk right off the edge of a chair or bed. He needs to be carried up and down stairs and has no awareness of being at the top of stairs. He will remind his foster mom if his breakfast or dinner is overly late. Marty has had a slight cough since arriving in his foster home and following an xray on September 16th, it was discovered that his heart is slightly enlarged and he has a small amount of fluid in the upper portion of his one lung. These are both signs of congestive heart failure, which is fairly common in little old men like Marty. He will probably need to take Benazepril, Lasix and Pimobendan for the rest of his life. These medications run about 50.00 per month. Marty will have a dental on September 26th. He will probably need to have most, if not all, of his teeth extracted but it will be so much better for him to have a healthy mouth again! Marty will make a sweet little companion for some family. He's very excited to be spoiled and doted on for the rest of his days. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
