We will only let RIP go to the perfect home. He is a great dog for the slower paced family or single person who just wants a companion who likes to chill. He gets along with most dogs, kids, not sure about cats, likes short walks and is completely house broken. He is micro chipped, up on all his shots and is healthy. I get him allergy shots as needed for seasonal allergies. If I could describe his personality he would be lazy. He doesn’t want to go to dog parks because they are to chaotic. He wants to sleep at your feet, go on a walk and just hang out. He doesn’t need a lot of space because he is not active. If you are seeking a dog to go on long walks, hang out at a dog park or play fetch RIP is not for you. If you are seeking a companion to watch movies with and hang with you in your back yard then he will be perfect. He eats at around 6am, takes a short walk and then he is inside for most of the day until someone comes home to hangout.

MEET GOLDIE, a beautiful & young Mastiff in need of a foster or forever home! Goldie is a 1-year-old girl and is still a big puppy! She already weighs 90 pounds, and will likely put on weight as she grows up.She was rescued from an overcrowded California shelter. Goldie is a sweet, gentle dog. She is slightly shy, especially with men, but very affectionate once she gets to know you. She gives big kisses! We do not know too much yet about how she is with other dogs, because she caught a doggy cough at the shelter. But given her gentleness, we are expecting she will be good with other dogs, and we will test her soon. She would do well with a single person, a couple or a family with older kids. Meet Mistletoe!-4 month old male Mastiff mix-Came into the Shelter as a stray with “sister” Mindy-Lived with sibling pup but not recommended to live with them (google Littermate syndrome!)-Has met other dogs at the Shelter and a little cautious upon introduction but after some sniffies, tends to follow them around the yards at the Shelter -No history living with cats or children-Anticipated to be XL sized when full grown (100+ lbs)-Adopters should anticipate bonding through positive reinforcement based training to help Mistletoe learn life skills and manners such as potty training and leash walkingNow through December 17th, BISSELL Pet Foundations is sponsoring reduced adoption fees and we are participating! Adoption fees for all cats and dogs are reduced to $50.Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
