Story
We adopted Gracie from the local shelter. We had a meet & greet between her & our current dog, and everything went smoothly! The first week, they were playing like besties. The second week, you could tell our original dog was getting annoyed and frustrated with having another dog in the house. Yesterday & today, he attacked Gracie at the slightest annoyance. We’re rehoming her to get her out of the stressful environment of being around our first dog. Gracie is a Mastiff mix just over 2 years old. She’s very playful & super sweet! She’s house trained but does not enjoy the crate. She’s getting better at being on the leash, and we have a theory that she might make a great hunting dog. That sniffer is always working! She’s highly food motivated and does well with all dogs (we’ve introduced her to family members’ dogs). It’s our other dog that is the issue, but we’ve had him for years, since he was a puppy, and cannot rehome him. She’s so kind & silly and deserves a home full of love!

Story
Meet Ken — Our Distinguished Gentleman Some dogs walk into your life quietly. Ken plans on splashing his way in. Ken is a handsome approximately 3-year old Mastiff mix weighing around 75 pounds, with a gorgeous blue brindle coat and a face that gives him the look of a true distinguished gentleman. And after waiting far too long for someone to choose him, Ken is more than ready to finally have a home of his own. If there is one thing you need to know about Ken, it is this: THIS BOY LOVES WATER. A pool, a hose, a creek, a sprinkler—Ken doesn’t care. If there’s water involved, he’s ready! He absolutely cannot get enough of it, and watching him play in water is one of those things that will instantly put a smile on your face. If your idea of a good day includes backyard pool time, trips to the lake, or outdoor adventures, Ken would be thrilled to come along. But there’s much more to this handsome guy than his love affair with water. Ken is housebroken and crate trained, listens well, and gets along with other dogs. He’s smart, attentive, and eager to interact with his people. He does still get excited and jump up on people at times, and we’re actively working with him on keeping all four paws on the ground. He’s a big boy, so his new family should be willing to continue reinforcing those good manners. Ken has spent enough time waiting. Behind that striking blue brindle coat is a dog who deserves the ordinary things other dogs already have—a person who calls him theirs, a comfortable place to sleep, adventures to look forward to, and maybe his very own kiddie pool in the backyard. Ken doesn’t need another temporary stop. He needs his forever. If you’ve been looking for a loyal, handsome, water-loving companion with personality to spare, come meet our distinguished gentleman. Ken is ready. He’s been ready. Now he just needs someone to choose him.

Story
HI! My name is Samson! I am a 4-yea-old Mastiff mix. I came in to the shelter as a stray. At first everything was scary and I wasn't quite sure how to handle it. Although, was was friendly with the staff. I do play with people, but if I'm being honest I would much rather spend time with you doing nothing. I really am just a really big lap dog and will lay in your lap for as long as humanly possible. So, I'd be a phenomenal movie buddy on your days off. I do great with dogs, especially my sibling Delilah, but we'd still appreciate it if you'd bring your four legged companions with you when you visit. Also, bring your children too, as we want to make sure I get along with all of your family members. If you think I could be the boy for you, come visit me at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter any day, and please bring any and all human family and canine family members along too! Hope to see you soon friends!! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Grey Weight: 97.8 Age: 4yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Hi! My name is Delilah! I am a 3-year-old Mastiff mix. I was brought into the shelter as a stray. Don't let my kennel presence fool you. I am the sweetest girl known to human kind the moment I'm taken outside. I will rub all up on you like a cat just to get pets. I will even roll over to get belly rubs! I'll even lay in your lap like I'm not over 80lbs. I am good with dogs, especially my sibling Samson, but we'd still appreciate it if you brought your other four legged companions along. If you could also bring your children along too, that would be great, as we want to make sure I get along with all members of the family. If I seem like I could be the perfect fit, especially if you're looking for an overly affectionate big dog, please come visit me at the Cherokee County Animal Shelter any day. Hope to meet you soon friends!! Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Grey Weight: 82.2 Age: 3yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Please contact Tammy for more information about this pet.Easy-going family manA Letter from Hector To My Future Family… Hi, it’s me—Hector. You may not know me yet, but I’ve been waiting for you. I’m 10 years old, around 70 lbs, and I’ve spent the last 3 years hoping someone like you would come along. I’ve had homes before… some good, some not so much. I’ve been returned, lost, and forgotten. Once, I even walked myself back to the shelter gates because, deep down, I knew I deserved better. And I still believe I do. I’m not asking for much—just a soft place to land and someone who means it when they say “forever.” I’m house-trained, crate-trained, and I know my commands. I also just got a great health report from the vet. Aside from a little arthritis, I'm healthy as a horse. Yeehaw! I love snuggles, slow strolls, and feeling like I belong. I’m gentle with people and can live with sturdy kids. I get along with some dog friends too—just no cats, please. My caretaker says I’m loyal, low-key, and full of love. I just need a home where I can finally exhale and know I’m safe. Where I can lay my head down and not worry about being left again. So if you're out there—my person, my family—please come find me. I've waited a long time, but I still believe you're coming. Love, Hector See my latest videos: bit.ly/findhector Questions? adopt@doggieharmony.org Apply to adopt: www.doggieharmony.org (click Forms) Even if you can’t adopt Hector, please share his story.
