Lucy has been the best dog for our family. We are so sad to have to find her a new home. She is living and cuddly. She is very big but doesn’t know it. She lets our kids climb all over her without a care in the world.

Story
Meet Daphne At 4 years old and 106 pounds of pure gentleness, Daphne is a stunning Mastiff-type girl ready to begin a brand-new chapter. She was found by a kind Samaritan who took her in for a few days and quickly realized just how sweet and affectionate this big girl truly is.It’s clear Daphne hasn’t always known the comforts of a loving home—she was likely used for breeding—and she’s still working on gaining a little weight and rebuilding her strength. Even so, her heart is enormous. Every soft tail wag, gentle lean, and affectionate cuddle shows just how much she wants to connect with her people.Daphne is a low- to medium-energy dog who enjoys a relaxed lifestyle. She loves human attention and would be happiest spending her days lounging nearby, going on daily walks, and enjoying both physical and mental enrichment to keep her content and prevent boredom.Daphne is learning how to properly introduce herself to other dogs. We have learned she prefers males, but her approach is VERY forward. She is food-motivated, takes treats politely, and already knows the cue “sit.” Daphne thrives with positive-reinforcement training, which helps strengthen her bond with her person and build positive associations as she settles into home life.Due to her size and strength, Daphne is looking for a home with older children and an adopter who has experience with Mastiff or large-breed dogs. In return, she offers unwavering loyalty, affection, and the kind of quiet companionship only a gentle giant can give.Daphne has waited long enough—she’s ready to finally be someone’s family.

𝗔𝗗𝗢𝗣𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗢𝗡 🤍🐷 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 Compton 🤍 We promise to find you a 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 this time 🙏 Compton found his way to our city shelter back in January of 2025 as a stray with a collar and leash still attached, but sadly no one came forward 😞 He quickly showed signs of kennel stress, but luckily was sprung by a foster hero, and then what he thought was his furever home…2 months later he was dropped off for dogsitting, the owner blocked the sitter, and never came back for our sweet ham 😭 He was once again adopted again, and later picked up by the Humane Society as a stray and transferred back to CARE. After 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀, Compton is FREE of shelter life, decompressing in a home, and snoring like a grown man 😆 (check out the comments for a video!) This level white noise happens when a shelter dog feels like they can finally relax 🥲 The ONLY reason we were able to help Compton is because a 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗼 opened their home 🏡 THANK YOU to all the heroes—you are truly saving a life. All that’s left is to find 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 ♾️👀 _____________________________________________ 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘆 𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘀𝗼 𝗳𝗮𝗿: • ~3 yr old ~67lbs happy, hefty hog 🐷 • potty/house trained ✔️ • rides well in the car ✔️ • SUPER food motivated—a fast learner! • AFFECTIONATE! he loves a snuggle • DOG FRIENDLY! • NO CATS ❌ • KID FRIENDLY! hasn’t met tiny hoomans but has done well with the ones he has met!

Story
Hi, I’m Luke, and I’m a big, lovable boy tipping the scales at just over 100 lbs! Don’t let my size fool you—I’m a happy, easygoing pup who just wants to play, explore, and cuddle. I’m all about the good things in life: squeaky toys, water play, long walks, and best of all—snuggle time on the couch. I’m a pro at giving hugs (though I’m working on not jumping up too hard to give them—oops!). I get along great with other dogs and kids, but because of my size and enthusiasm, I’d do best with older children who won’t get accidentally knocked over during playtime. I’m crate trained, housebroken, and walk nicely on a leash—unless there’s a squirrel… then it’s game on! I do have a slight prey drive, so a little guidance goes a long way. If you’re looking for a big-hearted, playful companion to fill your home with love (and maybe take up some space on your couch), I’m your guy. Let’s make forever happen! 🐾 Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Meet Mr. Bojangles, a distinguished male dog around three years old, who brings both class and a dash of drama to the table! He would like to clarify that the vocalizations you hear from his kennel are not barking, but rather his intensive opera training in progress! Once he's out, this fancy-pants gentleman is incredibly chill and sweet, and he walks like a pro—no pulling, unless nature is making an urgent call. Mr. Bojangles is a certified foodie who appreciates a good gourmet treat but is just as happy with a classic peanut-butter bone. Basically, he’s a loyal companion who is effortlessly refined and ready to serenade his way into your heart!

Story
🩷I learned much about adorable Meryl Streep yesterday as we buddied up and attended CARE’S Adoption Event at “Tower Grove Pride” event. This adorable one and a half year-old pup showed her happy self from the moment she jumped in the car and was the perfect backseat rider. 🩷As we walked to CARE’S tent Meryl walked well on the leash. The event was well attended and this sweet pup was friendly and sweet throughout. As participants of all ages came up to say “Hi” and gave her pets she was gentle to everyone. As other dogs passed she was mostly indifferent being content and enjoying the moment. When this precious girl was tired she laid down and fell fast asleep and stayed like that as the action continued all around her. After her short nap we headed back to the car. This precious, perfect girl made the day’s event fun, happy and totally enjoyable for me her sidekick💕 🩷All I could think is this fabulous pup belongs in a loving home and hopefully soon! Meryl Streep, is a treasure and would be a cherished pup for many families. -Her eye condition is called Cherry Eye and is not serious and will be taken care of by CARES clinic when she’s adopted. 🩷She is at CARE STL for you to meet and possibly fall in love just like me🩷🐾XOXO
