Story
Meet Bubblegum! This 73-pound mastiff mix is just a year old and is the definition of delightful! From the moment you lay eyes on this darling girl, you'll want her to be part of your life. Bubblegum treasures her time with volunteers and we feel the same about her. She enjoys entertaining herself with her toys and will proudly bring them back to you to show them off. We can't think of a better way to spend out time than with this enchanting pup! Not only is Bubblegum adorable, she's also eager to learn. She already knows how to sit and takes her treats gently. She will thrive with daily exercise, continued training, and a yard to enjoy in her new home. Bubblegum could benefit from gaining some weight as well, so ensuring she gets excellent nutrition is key. Based on our evaluation, Bubblegum will do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She may have the ability to live in a home with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! If you think Bubblegum could be the pup you've been searching for, visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit your application for this marvelous mastiff!

Story
Brody and his deep loving eyes... He is estimated to be about 10 months old and weighs 50 pounds right now, but he is sure to get much bigger! Meet Brody, a sweet pup with a sensitive, special soul, hoping to find his forever family. He's just a baby with cutest giant paws, so he's going to be a big boy! He is affectionate and very connecting, but mostly only with women right now. Unfortunately, he is quite scared of men, we are working on this with him, but Brody is seeking a dedicated leader to rely on and guide him through his insecurities and help him build confidence. Brody has had a challenging start, struggling with a fear of men due to past trauma. He absolutely needs an experienced adopter who can commit time upfront to help him overcome these fears and navigate the world with confidence. He is very food motivated, so this is a great tool to use to build trust with him. This sweet boy has so much love to give and with him still finding his paws in the world, he's looking for a family where any children are at least 13 years old, who can offer him patience, love, and the time he needs to blossom. He would love it if you came to meet him, he can't wait for his family to find him. If you are interested in Brody and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Meet Goose!! Goose is eagerly awaiting life with his forever family! He is the sweetest little Mastiff/Boxer mix you’ll ever meet! He has an estimated birthdate of 1/9/24 and weighs in at a whopping 86 pounds of charm and delight… and he’s currently underweight This super strong boy is great with other dogs and absolutely LOVES people!! Kids are his absolute favorite!! Goose is current on his vaccines but, because he had not been taken care of properly he’s tested positive for heartworms and is being treated for heartworms on slow kill method by The Artemis Project. But don’t let that stop you because the rescue will continue to provide and fund the medications for the duration of his treatment even after he is adopted Bottom line - he is SO ready for a wonderful life with… YOU!!. Please give this beautiful boy a chance to win your heart and become your best friend forever! He is looking for his forever family… that very well may be you! Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Hi, I'm Wiggly, a 6-year-old Mastiff-Shepherd mix with a gorgeous blond coat. 🐾 I'm already neutered and ready to settle into your home, plus I'm a dream when it comes to grooming and bath time. I get along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids, and I take treats so gently you'll hardly feel my nose — I'd actually love to have an animal sibling to keep me company. Come meet this gentle giant and see why my name says it all! 💛
