India Rottweiler/Boxer/Dogo Argentino mix (short coat) Large Adult Female   This gorgeous brindle gal is India a 4 year old, 100 pound mixed breed dog who will be up to date on her veterinary care and spayed prior to adoption.  Her current family is not able to provide her with the time or care she deserves.   India is housetrained and crate trained, although, a crate has not been used in the past year or so.  She is used to living in an apartment and is said to be quiet and comfortable being left alone while her family works full-time hours.  She may whine initially when left in a new environment.  She enjoys daily walks for exercise and to do her business.   India is a Mastiff mix, and as such, will most likely become very attached to her family members but may initially be a bit wary of new people and animals.  She warms up to women more quickly than men.  India is currently living with 2 toddlers and is good with them.   India has very limited experience with other dogs and has not lived with another dog.  She has a Husky friend she likes to interact with on leash.  She may react to other dogs when on leash walks who are as far away as on the other side of the street and needs a strong and confident owner to help her work through this behaviour using positive reinforcement based methods.  She has also never lived with a cat.   Her family is able to bathe and brush her and she has been professionally groomed.  Her regular groomer says she is good for grooms.  At the veterinarian, she is muzzled for invasive handling.  Muzzles can be a great tool to help dog handlers feel safe.   If you are looking for a loyal, large breed dog to snuggle with on the couch and believe you can provide India with the care she deserves, please fill out the Adoption Application on our website.       Due to time constraints, we cannot respond to every email asking for more information on a dog. Ranger is vocal and loves to tell you about his day and then tell you again! He loves to be pet and looks at a gate as a challenge, not a barrier. He can be stubborn and defiant, so a strong Alpha owner is needed or he will take control. He is a powerful puller on leash, so a harness is best. He likes car rides and is crate trained. He is looking for a forever home that has some experience with the food motivated lab and stubborn mastiff. Due to his size and strength, older children are best. He has a great smile, and will show all his teeth when he is happy or nervous. He is up to date with his vaccines, flea and tick treated, microchipped, Heartworm negative and is neutered. His adoption fee is $500. You must be 21 years old to adopt and provide vet and personal references. An application to adopt him can be found on our website www.oxfordcountyanimalrescue.com. Click on Adopt, then Dogs for Adoption and scroll to the bottom of the page. All applications are reviewed, and if we feel you might be a good fit for him, you will be contacted to arrange a home visit as well as for permission to speak with your vet. Repeated phone calls and emails with not advance your application. We are a volunteer, foster based rescue and there is no opportunity to meet him before an application has been approved. Kodiak’s greatest strength is his loyalty; Up or down, good or bad, happy or sad it will be Kodiak and you against the world. What makes Kodiak special is that he has so much love to give. The exact reasons you are looking for a dog are the same reason Kodiak desperately wants his forever human. He will need a very active adult-only family to drain his energy in order to keep him happy. Kodiak is looking for an experienced and confident owner to continue working on his reactivity to dogs and new people. He will need a strong leader to slowly introduce him to new people using the methods he has been taught while at Dog Tales. Kodiak is not friendly with strangers, children or other animals. Therefore he will need to live in a house with a fully fenced backyard. Once he is comfortable with a person he will become very attached and a great listener. Kodiak is looking for his chance with someone special. Upon adoption, Dog Tales can provide training for Kodiak and you in order to set you up for success.

Hi! I'm Lilah, and I'm currently accepting applications for my forever family. A few things you should know about me: I firmly believe that personal space is overrated. If you're sitting down, congratulations — you've just become my couch buddy. If I can fit on your lap, I'm going to give it my best shot. My hobbies include squeaking soft toys, solving the incredibly important puzzle known as "How do I get these treats out of this Kong?", and collecting compliments about what a good girl I am. I'm pretty polite on leash! I like to walk out front to see what's happening, but I listen when my person asks me to slow down. Since I'm still a young lady, I'd love to keep learning with some training classes. I hear they're a great way to earn snacks! My energy level is low to medium, which means I'm always up for an adventure, but I'm equally happy hanging out with my people afterward. I came to the shelter as an unclaimed stray, and while I have some scars on my head and legs that hint at a story we'll probably never know, they don't define who I am. What does define me is my sweet, gentle heart. The shelter staff absolutely adore me and honestly, the feeling is mutual. I was a rock star during my medical exam, letting everyone handle me without a fuss. Apparently, not everyone enjoys blood draws... but I figured being brave was the way to go! I may even enjoy having a calm, polite canine roommate one day, as long as we're introduced nice and slowly. So, if you've been searching for a loyal sidekick, an expert cuddle consultant, and a dog whose greatest ambition is simply to love her people with her whole heart, I think we should meet. I promise to bring the snuggles, the squeaky toy entertainment, and the unconditional love. All you have to do is bring me home.
