Story
Hello! My name is London!I`m a fun and loving girl! I am snuggly and affectionate. I love treats and toys, which makes training a blast! I sometimes get excited and like to grab sleeves with my mouth. I thought that was fun but apparently humans don`t enjoy it as much as I do. No worries though, I`m super smart and doing well with training - I`m learning about other fun things to do instead. If you love cuddling, playing and snoring, I am definitely the girl for you!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers may be ok. No young kids given my mouthing can sometimes be hard.OTHER DOGS: I don`t seem to enjoy the company of other dogs and I`m looking to be the only dog.CATS: Potentially, with cat experienced and confident around dogs.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: I would do best with someone who has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Required.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: Any with yard.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes.If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

Story
Built like a tank but powered by a very relaxed engine, Diesel is a 2-year-old Mastiff cross who is looking for a home where he can cruise comfortably through life. Diesel arrived as an unclaimed stray alongside another dog believed to be his littermate, and it’s clear he takes comfort in canine company. With a dog friend by his side, his confidence really shines. When he’s on his own, Diesel may take a moment to read the room and assess his surroundings but once he realizes everything is safe, he settles in nicely and continues on his way. Despite his size, Diesel is actually a lower-energy kind of guy. He’ll have a quick burst of goofy, puppy-like zoomies now and then, but they’re short-lived before he returns to his favorite activities: lounging, observing the world, and enjoying a peaceful nap. In his kennel he keeps things tidy and calm, and when passing by other dogs he’s friendly and polite. Diesel is also a smart cookie. He already knows “sit” and “paw,” and he’s very motivated when treats are involved. Because of this, he would really benefit from positive reinforcement obedience classes to help him learn more tricks and establish clear boundaries and routines in his new home. When meeting people, Diesel is polite and respectful - not the jumpy, over-the-top greeter type. He prefers a calm introduction and appreciates someone who can read his body language and give him a moment when he needs it. Because of this, we recommend a home with somewhat experienced handlers and no young children, where his cues will be understood and respected. In a perfect world, Diesel’s new home would include: possibly another friendly dog companion, daily walks and mental enrichment, a cozy sunny spot for naps and a yard where he can stretch out in the grass. During his medical exam Diesel allowed staff to check his ears but was a little tense during his dental check - understandable for a new environment. He'll need a more experienced home familiar with cues that he's uncomfortable. He has mild tartar on his molars, but no dental procedure is needed at this time. A dental-support diet is recommended to help keep that handsome smile healthy. Diesel is a gentle, thoughtful boy who just needs a patient home to help him continue building confidence and enjoying the good life he deserves. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a calm nature, good manners, and the occasional burst of goofy energy, Diesel might be the perfect co-pilot for your next chapter. Story
At 2 years old, Stella is a beautiful Mastiff cross with a soft heart wrapped in a big, strong body. She arrived at the shelter as a stray alongside her presumed male littermate, and while the world can feel a little overwhelming at first, this sweet girl is showing us more of her gentle personality every day. Stella was understandably nervous during her medical intake, but she bravely allowed handling — and even showed off that she knows sit, down, and shake a paw! She takes treats ever so gently and is happily food-motivated, which makes her a wonderful candidate for continued training. With guidance and positive reinforcement, she’ll blossom into the very best version of herself. Though she can be timid when first meeting new people, Stella simply asks for a considerate, calm approach and a little patience. Once she feels safe, she absolutely melts — leaning her big frame into her person for cuddles, comfort, and reassurance. She bonds deeply and looks to her handler for guidance, making her a loyal and devoted companion. Stella appears to be housetrained and keeps her kennel tidy. She has been quiet during her stay and is described by staff as “shy but sweet” — a gentle giant finding her footing. While she can be selective with other dogs, she does warm up nicely and can enjoy playful interactions with well-matched canine friends. Because of her size and initial timidness — and her unknown history — a home without small children is recommended at this time. She will thrive with an experienced, patient handler who understands that trust is earned through kindness and consistency. As a large-breed girl, Stella will need daily exercise and plenty of mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy. Walks, enrichment toys, training sessions, and time spent bonding with her people will help her confidence grow beautifully. If you’re someone who appreciates the quiet, sensitive souls — the dogs who form deep, meaningful bonds — Stella may be your perfect match. Give her time, give her space, and she will give you her whole heart. Story
Oscar is a handsome three-year-old Mastiff cross with a big body and an even bigger heart. This lovable giant has quickly become a staff favorite thanks to his sweet nature, eagerness to please, and calm presence in his kennel. Despite his size, Oscar is a gentle soul who enjoys spending time with people and thrives on connection and positive interaction. Oscar is a medium-energy dog with short bursts of playful enthusiasm —especially when toys are involved! He absolutely loves playtime and is easy to redirect, making him a great candidate for continued training. He’s a smart boy who responds well to guidance and is already showing that he has the potential to become a well-mannered, balanced companion with the right structure in place. Due to his size, strength, and current lack of manners, Oscar is looking for a home with large-breed experience and a confident, physically capable handler. He doesn’t quite realize how big he is, so ongoing positive reinforcement training will be key to helping him learn boundaries and polite behaviors. Enrolling him in training classes is strongly recommended and will set him up for success. Oscar does show some reactivity toward other dogs, particularly males that react to him. However, his behavior is manageable with the right approach. He would benefit from a home committed to maintaining safe distances, using high-value rewards to build positive associations, and consistently working on obedience while keeping him under threshold. With patience, structure, and continued guidance, Oscar has great potential to make progress in this area. Because of his size and strength, a home without young children is recommended. Oscar will also need daily physical exercise and mental enrichment to keep him happy and fulfilled. The good news is that he settles well in his kennel and may do very well with crate training in his future home. Oscar is a sweet, intelligent dog who is ready to thrive with the right match. With consistency, training, and lots of love, he has all the makings of a loyal, well-balanced companion. Story
Kodiak is the true definition of an adventure buddy! Do you enjoy hiking, running, biking, swimming or exploring? Kodiak is the perfect dog for you! In fact he is already and waiting at the door for you! He is an intelligent dog who is capable of learning extremely quickly. He already knows the commands sit, down, stay, come, and speak! Kodiak’s greatest strength is his loyalty; Up or down, good or bad, happy or sad it will be Kodiak and you against the world. What makes Kodiak special is that he has so much love to give. The exact reasons you are looking for a dog are the same reason Kodiak desperately wants his forever human. He will need a very active adult-only family to drain his energy in order to keep him happy. Kodiak is looking for an experienced and confident owner to continue working on his reactivity to dogs and new people. He will need a strong leader to slowly introduce him to new people using the methods he has been taught while at Dog Tales. Kodiak is not friendly with strangers, children or other animals. Therefore he will need to live in a house with a fully fenced backyard. Once he is comfortable with a person he will become very attached and a great listener. Kodiak is looking for his chance with someone special. Upon adoption, Dog Tales can provide training for Kodiak and you in order to set you up for success.
