Story
Hi! My name is Calisto. Since I have that name, you should know I think I am a pirate. Aye, aye matey. I have the handsome dark looks, swashbuckling style, and alway look like I am winking. I just have to talk my Frommy into getting me the outfit.     Until I get the outfit, you can call me Cal. I am a 3 year old miniature pinscher mix. I am tall and trim with well defined muscles(14 pounds). I have a handsome black and tan coat. I only have one eye from an accident a long time ago, but I don't talk about it as It is not an issue for me.  I am doing super in my foster home and get along well with the 3 other dogs here. I love the humans best. I love for them to hold me and give me lots of pets. If they are doing something with their hands, I just get the pets from their feet. By the way, I do prefer ladies, but I should be fine with a patient man. I am also quiet in my crate at night and when Frommy goes out.     You should know that I absolutely Love to eat. I have nosed out all the food locations in the house, but they keep it all where I can't help myself. I like going outside and being on furniture and even a soft dog bed. I am just a very agreeable guy.   Before I got here, someone didn't give me heart worm preventatives,  so I had the worms. Fortunately, I have finished my treatment and I am ready to find my new family asap!   I would love to be the new pirate in your home! Can't wait to meet you!   Calisto       An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. Story
Evie 8.5 years old (DOB 5/11/2015); 13.2 lbs. Spayed, UTD on vaccines, HW negative and on prevention MPMR requires all dogs in the home to be on heartworm prevention, spayed or neutered, and current on vaccines unless there is a verifiable reason by a vet. Meet Evie. This girl adores women and takes a bit of time (treats help) to warm up to men. She is learning about toys now that her teeth have been cleaned and will sometimes briefly play tug with her person. Evie will gladly do anything for snacks. She is quite friendly once she trusts and eager to snuggle with someone on top of or under blankets. She also has more energy than you'd expect from a dog her age and will make a good walking buddy, though she does need some work on leash training and would probably do best with a fenced yard. In her foster home, Evie quickly learned where the door was that leads outside, and she has done extremely well letting us know when she needs to go out to do her business. At some point in her past, she had a home as she knows a few commands including "sit," "get down," and "dance." We are still working on "come." She will do best as someone's one and only as she thrives on people attention and does not care much for other dogs. She tolerates them in her foster home, but the difference in her behavior when she is the only one near her people is drastic. She is much friendlier when she doesn't have to concern herself with sharing someone's lap. As she is quite a barker. No apartments or condos. Evie has some pain in her neck from something that happened in her past. She takes Galliprant daily (a 90 count bottle lasts her 6 months). Without it, she would not allow anyone to pick her up due to neck pain, but on the medication, she does allow it albeit with some hesitance until she knows you. Story
MPMR requires all applicants to have their dogs current on vaccines, spayed or neutered, and on heartworm prevention unless there is verifiable medical reason why this cannot be done. Chiquita 3.5 year old chocolate Min Pin (DOB 9/30/2020) 10 lbs. Fully vetted Chiquita (given name) is an incredibly sweet girl. She can be standoffish for a while, so a few meetings at her foster home are recommended. She is highly food motivated, so the way to her heart is through her stomach. At this time, an adoptive home will need to be low traffic and either need to consist of ladies only or ladies with respectful older kids. She jumpes and nips too much in play to be around toddlers. She is absolutely terrified of men due to little socialization because of when she was born, and so far, we are having little progress in getting her over this fear. She has quite a bit of energy so would benefit from a fenced yard where she can run. Chiquita adores cuddling. She is very much a velcro dog and her person's shadow. She will follow someone around the house bouncing along behind for attention. She knows both English and Spanish commands per her former owner. Chiquita gets along with other dogs quite well and is often cuddling with them in her foster home. We were told Chiquita knows how to use puppy pads, but here she strictly goes outside to do her business and has done amazingly well on that front. She does hesitate when it is dark due to a minor vision issue but is easily coaxed with lights turned on so she can see better. She is also crate trained. Story
A LOVING CONSTANT COMPANION:  Approx. 10 years / Approx. 20 lbs.     Hi, my name’s Rusty!  I lost my life-long home when my previous owner experienced medical issues and needed to go to assisted living.  I was sad about that, but fortunately, Mostly Mutts has been able to take me in and I’m in a great foster home while I wait to find my new family that is looking for a constant sweet companion.  • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I like the dogs I have met in my previous home, and I like the older chihuahua in my foster home – sharing our people and walking nicely with her on our daily walks (even slowing down to wait on her as she’s a bit slower than me!), so if you have a nice doggie at home, let’s meet! / I lived with five cats in my previous home, so if you have a dog-friendly kitty, let’s meet! / I liked children I met in my previous home, but I don’t remember their ages. Since I have been known to nip if startled or accidentally hurt, it’s best the children in my new home be older kids (age 15+), and - of course, let’s meet!     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a sweet boy who - though initially nervous in new environments, I’ve been going to lots of places with my foster family and I’m doing well – in fact they take me everywhere with them. I often find a lap to jump in where I’m super happy as I’m a true lap dog!  I’ll even settle in and lean back, as if asking you to hold me like a baby – so loving!  I’m used to having my person with me all the time, so a stay-at-home family member is a must for me.  A true ‘velco dog’, I just want to be involved in whatever you are doing! You want to watch TV? Great, I’ll sit with you on the couch. You need to work at a desk? I’ll be in the dog bed on the floor in your office.  You cooking? I’ll help! You get the idea? I’m a great constant companion.  I have been a bit protective of my home, barking at strangers and sometimes nipping at the back of their leg when they turn away.  My foster is working on this with me now and I don’t do it in public, just in my home.  I get very anxious when left alone, and will bark and howl in protest, though I’m not destructive, but I should not live in an apartment or town home type home.  / My energy level is 4 - 6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  My foster and previous owner agree that I am a smart boy, so my foster enrolled me in Mostly Mutts’ Adult Basic Training classes.  So far, I have learned the ‘sit’ command and how to ‘wait’ before entering and exiting doors. I also have good leash-walking manners, only pulling momentarily in new areas if something makes me nervous. / I sleep through the night in a crate near my foster’s bed with no issues.  In my former home, I slept with my owner, so – if allowed – I’d like to snuggle in with you at night, too. / My potty manners are great in my foster home, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too!  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  A real people dog, I enjoy going for walks with my family, as well as hanging out with them in a fenced yard.  I also love napping on or next to them and being with people all the time. I enjoy playing with squeaky toys and balls with my person.  Collecting all the cuddles is my favorite pastime! / I don’t like being left alone and will bark and howl in protest.  I also am not a fan of that loud, pesky vacuum cleaner, so I bark at it.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have a couple old man lumps and bumps that don’t bother me, and I hope you won’t mind either.  I had a slightly elevated liver level, so I’m on a supplement through June and then will be retested.  Mostly Mutts will pay for that test with their vet.  I have started having some eye tremors intermittently and am on medication for that to see if it will help. I’ve also started a medicine for my separation anxiety and CBD oil, to see if it will help when I’m alone.  I’m looking for a home where I will be a much-loved family member where I can be with my family a lot. My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.    May 5, 2024, 12:19 pm
