Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianep@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.small sweet senior needs loving home!! COCO NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Coco       Best Guess for Breed:  Miniature pinscher mix Best Guess for Age:  10 years as of November 2023       SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  11 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested   Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get her freedom ride up here   Special adoption considerations:   Coco has a cataract in her left eye that her adopter might want to address.    Coco is Looking For: In a perfect world, no senior dog would ever land in a shelter. But in our less-than-perfect world, Coco now needs a new home - but she is also now in our care. This small girl is such a sweetie and she's eager to once again have her own humans. Small dogs can live for a good long time, and Coco is certainly up for sniffy walks and world exploration and all that fun stuff. She's also definitely up for snuggles and all the wonderful things that come with being a well-loved dog. In exchange she promises all that calm love and deep affection that a wise older dog has to offer.    What do you say? Can you see Coco by your side  - or better yet, on your lap? What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $375, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. Story
Baby is a precious little girl that is 2 years old, weighs 20 lbs and is a special needs dog.  She was born with what is the equivalent to a hydrocephalus child that cannot control some of her movement functions and needs assistance moving around.  This girl is also 90% blind and has to be helped to get outside and go for a potty break.  We are working on a wheelchair right now and it will give her some freedom and joy to sit upright and perhaps learn how to move her legs to navigate around the backyard.  This girl is very independent but yet being picked up does put her in a fear mode until she knows to trust you and knows you mean her no harm.  She is about 90% blind and challenged with her walking skills and we think a wheelchair could give her some wonderful mobility or steadiness on her feet.  She is a sweet girl that will play with other dogs and is fine around cats as well.  If you have ever wanted to help a handicapped dog then Baby is the one to consider.  We think she is Min Pin mix and was brought to a shelter with her sister at the age of 10 weeks in December of 2021.  This little girl is going on 2 years old now and the original foster mom is keeping the other sister who is impaired with her walking only.  We are seeking a person and family with a depth to handle the blindness and the need to carry her outside right now to go potty.  She loves the company of other dogs and she is much improved when around them.  She does also love to sleep and stay near her work-from-home foster mom. Her mind is sharp but again fearful of those unseen and unknown elements that she might experience.  But in the end Baby will conquer her fears and she will be fine!  If you would like to know more, please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.December 4, 2023, 10:52 am

Story
Meet our Princess & the 7 Dwarfs litter! This is Dwarf Sneezy! These puppies are 12 weeks old. He is our little pip squeak with a super-size personality. He likes to think he is the biggest of the liter and wants to put everyone is their place. We call him Sneezy because his little growl is super cute! This litter of puppies love to play with each other and spend time cuddling with their foster family. They have been well socialized with the foster family and other animals since they were days old. This litters' mother is a beautiful smaller sized pup (20 lbs). At their current weights, these puppies should be a smaller size when full grown. If there are children in Sneezy's forever home, they should be 5 years and up. Our young puppies are required to go to an adopter who is at home a good portion of the day to continue training - no exceptions! This puppy is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and microchipped. ***Please note, this pup's immune system will not be fully functioning until about 16 weeks of age and therefore, s/he is not suited for Apartment/Condo living or Town homes without a private fenced yard and will not be able to go to public places where s/he could possibly be exposed to the germs of unvaccinated dogs, such as PetSmart/PetCo and dog parks until s/he is 16-20 weeks old*** ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us; thus, we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**
