Story
If interested in Jamaica, apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CPAR/Dog Jamaica is 4 months old and weighs 15 lbs. She is a sweet and happy girl with a wonderful, easygoing personality. She has a gentle nature and a friendly disposition that makes her a joy to be around. She enjoys playing with other dogs and spending time with people. Jamaica is crate trained, leash trained, and currently working on potty training as she continues to learn the routine in her foster home. She does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion to play with. She has not been tested with cats yet, but because she is still young she may do well with proper introductions. Jamaica is a Sato, which is the name used for Puerto Rican street dogs. Satos are known for being incredibly resilient, loyal, and wonderful family companions. Many come from difficult beginnings but grow into devoted, loving pets. Jamaica is being fostered in Hanover, MD. PLEASE READ: Any dog that is house or potty trained will still need patience in a new home with new people and a new schedule. Please be ready to train ANY dog you adopt! Also, please understand we can not guarantee breed or full grown size of any young dog or puppy. Thank you for understanding.

Story
Penny has been a joy in my life ever since I brought her home as a puppy nearly two years ago. She is a stunning dog. I receive compliments about her everywhere I go. Her personality is affectionate, loves to cuddle, and wonderfully protective. This decision hasn't come easily, but with my demanding work schedule and frequent travel, I haven't been able to give Penny the attention and care she deserves. Min pins are energetic dogs and being cooped up in a townhome without a backyard isn't ideal for her. She needs regular walks and the freedom to run and play, which unfortunately I can no longer provide. Penny is comfortable in her crate, and I usually leave her out during the day while I am at work. She is mat trained for relieving herself, which has been very convenient. However, she hasn't been socialized much with strangers and is a BARKER, so she would thrive best with an experienced and patient adopter who understands the needs of her breed.

Now that her little ones are ready to take on the world, it’s finally Joyful’s turn to be spoiled. Joyful is a young lady with a calm, gentle personality and a deeply affectionate nature. She also gets along great with other dogs, so whether you have a furry friend at home or she’s your one-and-only princess, she’ll fit right in.     After being such an amazing mom, Joyful deserves a forever home where she’ll be showered with love, cozy beds, belly rubs, and maybe a few extra treats (purely for “emotional recovery” from motherhood, of course). If you’re ready to give this wonderful mama the happily-ever-after she’s earned, Joyful is ready to fill your home — and your heart — with exactly what her name promises.  Apply today, she can't wait to meet you! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.    Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/ or email our Foster Coordinator at foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSPONSOR ME! Help Save Lives!    Make a tax-deductible donation today and help save a life.
