Story
Finding the right home for bonded pairs like Penny and Stewie requires a special kind of adopter—someone who sees "shy" as an opportunity for a deep, rewarding connection. Here are a few versions of a bio you can use for adoption postings, ranging from heartfelt to concise. Option 1: Heartfelt & Detailed (Best for Social Media) Meet Penny & Stewie: Two Hearts Looking for Their Safe Harbor 🐾 Penny and Stewie are a stunning pair of 8-month-old white and apricot Poodles (approx. 18 lbs each) who are looking for a very special "forever." These two are the definition of a bonded pair; they lean on each other for bravery and share a soul. While they are absolute angels with other animals and perfectly submissive in a household setting, they have a "circle of trust" that is currently very small. They tend to pick one human to shower with all their love while remaining fearful of others. When they feel overwhelmed, their instinct is to run and hide. The Ideal Home: • Patience is a must: They aren’t "instant" dogs. They need a family willing to let them bloom at their own pace. • The Reward: Once you’ve earned their trust, you become their entire world. • The Perks: They are fixed, up to date on all shots, and get along beautifully with other pets. If you have a quiet home and a heart big enough to help these two come out of their shells, Penny and Stewie are waiting to meet you.

Story
Rudy is a 7 year old poodle mix whose world was flipped upside down with his former owner’s cancer diagnosis. This is so heartbreaking as it’s nobody’s fault and many times owners cannot fathom ever having to give up their babies. When dogs are fearful of new people it wouldn’t matter…as long as you outlive your dog. This was not the case for poor Rudy. Now he just needs someone to give him a chance! He IS afraid of new people and may snap if approached too quickly by a stranger. But once he knows you are his person/people, he is solid. He is loyal, devoted and so kind. He isa perfect house companion for the right person. Can you give Rudy a chance? Rudy is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Rudy’s adoption fee is $ 275 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Guapo is a very sweet, loyal boy who was neglected and found wandering the streets of Phoenix. He was microchipped but his owners claimed they “had gotten rid of him a long time ago.” Who ever owned him after that did not look for him and did not take good care of him. He has since been neutered, had his teeth cleaned and been vaccinated. He is very mellow, gentle and sweet. He does not jump up on people and is not a barker. He’s the perfect companion for a person with a quiet, low activity living situation. He is estimated to be 8 years old. He is also housetrained. Guapo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Guapo’s adoption fee is $275 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. Story
Koda is a sweet quiet dog was also very attentive. He likes to be by your side and also likes to cuddle. He would sleep with you in bed at night if he would let him. I believe he is housetrained, but I am not 100% sure. He is currently at the rescue and that it’s not a normal environment to measure how well A Dog is potty trained. He is four years old and weighs about 10 pounds. He is a poodle or a poodle mix. He’s very good to Groom and has a nice coat. He walked well on a leash and he is good in the car. Like many rescue dogs, we’re not sure how well housetrained Koda is. However, with gentle guidance, consistency, structure, and praise, he should be easy to train. Koda is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will require professional grooming every 6–8 weeks. Adoption Fee: $400 This fee includes at least one health exam with our veterinarian while in our care, spay/neuter, all vaccinations (including rabies, as age-appropriate), a pre-adoption professional grooming, and a microchip with lifetime registration at no additional cost. Dogs also leave with a new collar and/or harness, leash, and a gift bag that includes, among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble currently fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also help us rescue the next homeless or unwanted dog in need. If you would like to be considered for B or any of our wonderful dogs, please complete an application here. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog We review each application carefully. Please understand that we often receive multiple applications for specific dogs, and as a volunteer-run rescue, we may not be able to respond to everyone. All applications remain in our database, so please feel free to reach out if another dog catches your interest. We truly appreciate every applicant and strive to match each dog and family for a happy, successful life together.

Story
Ace is a sweet boy who soaks up love like a sponge in water. He is always by your side and loves to snuggle. Ace, who is 1 1/2 years old was born with some minor neurological damage that makes him more endearing, not less enjoyable. His eyes look a bit “googly” but his vision does not seem to be compromised. He also walks in circles at times particularly when he’s excited. Please don’t hold this against him as it actually makes him just that much more lovable. We believe Ace is an Schnoodle. Ace loves everybody and gets along with dogs and cats. He would be fine as an only dog. He does need a little work on housetraining. We have him wear a belly band inside when we can’t watch him closely. But he is smart and with somebody who is consistent, he will learn quickly. Ace is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Ace ’s adoption fee is $300 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue.
