Muffin is a sweet cuddly girl who loves her people and being the center of attention. She doesn't love other dogs but is good with cats and even bunnies! Muffin was euth listed at seaaca animal shelter and she was so happy to make it out. Due to her traumatic past she can become a bit insecure when being pet by strangers and although she will tolerate it temporarily, she can become reactive if pet too long. Muffin wants to get to know you before touching her too long, especially in vulnerable areas like her tummy. Muffin can be a bit of an escape artist so ensuring shes not right behind you before exiting your home is essential to prevent her from squeezing between your legs to get out. Although Muffin has a double cherry eye, it doesn't bother her one bit. Besides that, Muffin is a dream! She loves to play, she loves to cuddle when your watching TV, she's a total ham and will make you laugh by being goofy playing with her toys. Corky is a sweet, older gentleman whose previous owner could no longer care for him. They made the difficult decision to bring him to the shelter so that he could receive the care that he needed. This boy needed quite a bit of TLC to get back into tip top shape and be ready for adoption. This boy could hardly see when he came to us because of his overgrown, matted coat and severely dry eyes. His eyes were no longer creating tears, but within a day of medication he was becoming a whole new dog! We were able to get Corky groomed, thanks to the amazing groomers at Soggy Dog in Long Beach. Next came his neuter, dental and removing some moles that needed to go! Corky’s personality has just kept blooming and blooming! He loves people, and gets along with other dogs. Bongo was rescued from the north central shelter in LA and is a very sweet little senior. He doesn’t need much except some love and affection. He’s got a lot of pep in his step for his age and does well on the leash. He also has the cutest little floppy ears when he walks! He rarely barks and sleeps in the crate all night and eats well. HIs foster mom describes him as very easy to handle and will allow baths and eye drops without any fuss. We are still working with him on potty training but other than that he is super easy and looking for his furever home to settle into for the rest of his years.

ADOPT OR FOSTER OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE Here’s Ranger’s story which is definitely not a new story: Ranger was brought to AALOC by a man who said his parents found the dog but weren't allowed to have pets at their apartment. Ranger looked well cared for and had a new collar. His teeth were clean, and he had a chip with an owner phone number available. Unfortunately, when we tried calling the owners they did not respond, and it is very likely the individual who dropped Ranger off as a “stray” was actually the previous owner. Ranger is a small, adult male poodle mix. Ranger was quiet and seemed sad when he arrived, but without hesitation Ranger allowed the AALOC team to cuddle him. Ranger’s hair is curly and his coat will need to be cut and groomed regularly. Please complete an application to adopt or foster Ranger at www.AALOC.org. As a foster all essential vet care, food or other needs of the foster pet will be covered by AALOC. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Ranger and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas.
