ADOPT OR FOSTER OPPORTUNITY AVAILABLE Here’s Ranger’s story which is definitely not a new story: Ranger was brought to AALOC by a man who said his parents found the dog but weren't allowed to have pets at their apartment. Ranger looked well cared for and had a new collar. His teeth were clean, and he had a chip with an owner phone number available. Unfortunately, when we tried calling the owners they did not respond, and it is very likely the individual who dropped Ranger off as a “stray” was actually the previous owner. Ranger is a small, adult male poodle mix. Ranger was quiet and seemed sad when he arrived, but without hesitation Ranger allowed the AALOC team to cuddle him. Ranger’s hair is curly and his coat will need to be cut and groomed regularly. Please complete an application to adopt or foster Ranger at www.AALOC.org. As a foster all essential vet care, food or other needs of the foster pet will be covered by AALOC. Once your application is reviewed and approved, we will contact you to make an appointment to visit us at AALOC to meet Ranger and get to know him a bit. Adoption donation includes spay/neuter, vaccinations, and a microchip. Applications require a veterinary reference and home visit. We adopt to residents of Orange County, CA and surrounding areas. Please note: For families with children, we require children to be 10 years of age or older, although exceptions are made depending on the circumstances. Hello New Friends, My name is Sporty, and I’m a 3–4-year-old male Poodle mix with a shiny black coat and a big, gentle heart. I’m affectionate, attached, and happiest when I’m near my person. I sleep quietly in my crate and am fully potty-trained—I’ll use a pad if needed but prefer going outdoors. I love to play fetch in the yard (I even bring the ball back!) and will proudly carry my favorite toy wherever I go. I’m still learning that the outside world is safe. Walks can make me nervous, and I sometimes bark or scratch to be picked up when things feel overwhelming. My foster mom helps me by visiting quiet parks and avoiding crowds, and that really helps me relax. I’ll come with my own martingale collar to keep me secure on walks. At home, I’m calm and well-mannered. I rarely bark indoors, only when I hear something outside. I love food and eat enthusiastically, but I like to have my own space at mealtimes. I ride nicely in the car in my crate, though I may whine from anxiety—especially if I’m alone. I’m calmer when another friendly dog rides with me. (A little Trazodone before longer trips helps, too.) I’m not a match for young children—the noise and fast movement can be scary. I do well with adults once I’ve had time to trust. Strangers on walks can make me nervous, so I prefer they admire me from afar. Inside the home, I bond deeply and will quietly follow you from room to room or nap by your legs while you work. I can be an only dog if I’m not left alone all day, but I’d also enjoy a calm, friendly companion—not too pushy, just easygoing company. Health-wise, I’m on Honest Kitchen Turkey Limited Ingredient to help manage environmental allergies. I may need monthly Cytopoint injections or allergy eye drops if my skin flares up. I do well with baths but prefer the blow-dryer on low. A patient groomer works best for me. I’ve been through a lot, so loud voices or sudden movements can scare me—I might even pee if startled. If you give me patience, kindness, and time, you’ll discover a sweet, loyal boy who wants nothing more than to love and be loved. No out of state adoptions - Northern California will not be considered - Needs to be local to Orange County only -- NO LA - NO La county - will be accepted. owner surrender due to landlord issues / moving not allowed to have dogs. Boys are 6 months old- supposedly parents are Maltipoo but surely doesn't like it at all -- we think they are mixed with something else we will be doing DNA test to see what mix is - little nervous but overall very sweet boys. Puppy criteria- MUST HAVE another dog in the home between ages of 1-4 years old- under 20 pounds - will not make exceptions -- However if someone is willing to adopt two puppies from our rescue we are totally okay with that.
