Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!! ADOPT A RESCUED HOMELESS PET AND SAVE A LIFE!!

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Alfie! This sweet little gentleman is a 9-year-old, 10-lb poodle mix with a heart full of love. Alfie is fully potty trained and hasn’t had a single accident in his foster home — he’ll let you know when he needs something by giving a polite bark, whether it’s time for a snack or a potty break! Alfie is a very affectionate boy who loves to curl up on your lap or snuggle as close as you’ll let him. He enjoys being part of the action and just wants to be near his person. While he’s quiet most of the time, he will bark when he sees people or dogs outside the window, so he requires a home with a yard or quieter neighborhood rather than an apartment setting. Alfie is believed to be deaf, but that doesn’t stop him from living life to the fullest — he’s incredibly intuitive, observant, and quick to pick up on routines. He will not do well with young children as he can be nippy when trying to put his harness on him.  He’s neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and ready to find his forever lap to love. His adoption fee is $300. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal, and loving companion who’s happiest by your side, Alfie might just be your perfect match. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  October 13, 2025, 9:40 pm

Story
Sweet and spunky! Hi there! I’m Delfina or Daphne– a sweet and spunky 2.5-year-old Poodle Mix, weighing about 15 pounds. I may be small, but I’ve got a big heart and an even bigger personality! Thanks to the wonderful folks at TAP, I was rescued from an LA shelter just in time. I had a broken jaw when they found me, but don’t worry – it’s all healed up now, and I’m feeling better than ever. Now I’m on the lookout for my perfect furever family! I’m full of energy and love to run, play, and explore. Some of my favorite activities include tug toys and going on walks.  I also adore being the center of attention and hanging out with doggie friends. But when the excitement winds down, I’m just as happy snuggling up with you. I’ll even sleep in your arms all night long without moving a muscle — seriously, I’m the ultimate cuddle bug. I’ve got a silly, lovable personality that’s sure to make you laugh. I’m working hard on my potty training — just a few accidents here and there — and I’m a total pro on the leash. I can be a little territorial around other pups, but I truly enjoy their company and love to play once we’re all friends. That said, I do get scared easily and have a big bark when I’m feeling anxious. I also struggle with separation anxiety, so I’d really thrive in a home where I’m not left alone for long stretches. If I get too lonely, I might rummage through the trash to cope.  But hey, I’m healthy overall and already spayed, so I’m ready to go! My dream home would include kiddos (I LOVE attention!) and maybe a furry sibling or two, as long as we hit it off. I seem to get along with cats just fine, too. More than anything, though, I just want to be part of a loving family who’s ready for a loyal, playful, snuggly companion like me. My adoption fee is $450 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.  If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/.     ##2198718##

Story
Meet Chiquita Chiquita is a gentle 10-year-old, 12 lb poodle–schnauzer mix with the sweetest heart. Her world was recently turned upside down when her beloved owner passed away. Through all the changes, Chiquita has shown nothing but love and a longing to be close to people. She adores cuddling, curling up in laps, and simply being near those who care for her. Chiquita has spent most of her life outdoors, so she isn’t fully housebroken yet—but she is eager to learn with patience and kindness. She currently lives peacefully with two other dogs and would do well in a home with furry companions or as the center of someone’s attention. This little soul has so much love left to give. All she needs is a safe, gentle place to call home and a family who will cherish her for the rest of her days. Will you open your heart to Chiquita and give her the second chance she so deeply deserves? If interested in meeting this sweet girl please reach out to her foster: Marta (650)740-0816 martalevison@gmail.comSeptember 4, 2025, 12:06 am

Story
Meet Milo & Otis! These sweet brothers are about 4–5 months old and came to us after their mom became pregnant before being spayed. Both are currently working on their potty training and learning quickly. They’re incredibly loving and affectionate, and while they adore each other, they don’t need to be adopted together.September 19, 2025, 10:16 pm

Story
Charley is a 7 year old dog who is very energetic and needs a lot of attention as well as someone who is home a lot and I cannot have her with me any longer due to certain circumstances but I would like visitation rights which would revolve around the new adoptees schedule so please contact me for details about her if you are interested. She is very clingy but affectionate and might have separation anxiety if you leave her alone too long.
