Ray is a sweet senior boy who came to us after being picked up as a stray by local animal control. Sadly, no one ever came forward to claim him, so he’s now under our care and searching for the loving forever home he so deeply deserves. Ray is a laid-back couch potato who’s slowly showing more of his personality as he settles in. He’s generally quiet but will let you know when dinner is late 😄. He loves being cozy—napping by the fireplace, on a heated dog bed, or curled up nearby while you work. Ray may be blind and partially deaf, and due to his age we suspect he has some arthritis. Despite this, he’s a gentle, kind soul who does well with the people and dogs he’s met. He can be a little nervous in new places at first but settles in quickly and happily accepts snuggles. He does best with a consistent potty schedule and is comfortable resting in a pen overnight or while you’re away. Ray is currently thriving in a foster home where he can enjoy a calm, home-like environment as he waits for his next chapter—a quiet, loving home full of patience, comfort, and love. 💙 Note: We cannot guarantee that any dog is "hypoallergenic"

Swen is a great pup, loves to sit on your lap and fall asleep. He can hold his own with other dogs, runs around like a big dog. He is a little guy, hypo allergenic and will need regular grooming. We don't know how he would do with cats since there are none here. He loves attention and will keep jumping in your lap to get petted. He is completely vetted including being neutered. Francie is a poodle mix about 14 pounds estimated to be eight years of age. She has a tiny bit of spunk and character, but also is just a sweet, loving snuggling companion - if a lap or a couch is available she is there !! And if you are busy at a desk she will choose the floor next to you to be close. She is not a barker! She will confine quietly when you are away however prefers to of course sleep in your bed if possible! Shes great on leash good with other dogs great with kids! With routine, she will do her potty outside, but she definitely needs the watchful eye. Sadly, this girl was found stray and heartworm positive! Shes doing awesome with treatment and is now available for adoption! As an eight-year-old dog in our rescue, she has had her blood work checked, her urine checked and her teeth cleaned! Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.
