$800 adoption fee is for both pups! Meet Madea & Gumbo! This beautiful bonded pair found themselves in the county shelter due to the death of their owner. Madea & Gumbo spent several days in the home with their deceased owner until they were finally discovered during a welfare check. A concerned family member reached out to SRC and put us in contact with that shelter, and the rest is history. Now completely utd on vaccines, spayed and neutered, chipped, and on prevention. These cute kids are housebroken and ready to find their family together. Madea (grey) 1 year/8 lbs. These two kids are playful in the day and snuggle bugs at night. They love to play and would be the perfect duo for any family. They would do best in a home with a fenced yard. They walk great on a leash, get along with other dogs and older children. Story
Meet Rowdy! After spending his first few years living outdoors, Rowdy, a 3-year-old poodle mix, is finally ready to enjoy the good life indoors—complete with cozy beds, gentle cuddles, and as many belly rubs as he can handle. Rowdy is a laid-back, easygoing little guy who would thrive with a family that’s home often or one that loves bringing their furry friend along for adventures. He’s a sweet little shadow, happiest when he can follow his people from room to room just to stay close. He walks nicely on a leash and enjoys his daily strolls. Rowdy is housebroken, though he may have an accident if his cues are missed. He experiences separation anxiety and continues to build confidence through crate training. Rowdy currently shares his foster home with two miniature schnauzers and pays little to no attention to the three resident cats. He does well with children 12 and up. He has not been exposed to younger children. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side and fill your days with love and cuddles, Rowdy might be the perfect match. Story
Meet Darlie (and Debbie)Darlie is an 8-year-old miniature poodle mix weighing just under 11 pounds. She came to Canine Collective from an Amish breeding situation, arriving frightened and unsure of the world. With patience, safety, and gentle care, this sweet girl has already made heartwarming progress. After about six weeks in a home, Darlie is now comfortable going outside to potty and has learned that kind humans can be trusted. Once she feels safe, she allows handling and enjoys being picked up by those whove earned her confidence. She has also discovered a love for Snausages (a girl after our own hearts!) and can use washable pee pads overnight if needed.Darlie shares a very special bond with her daughter, Debbie. The two rely on each other for comfort and confidence, and because of that strong connection, THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. Having Debbie by her side helps Darlie continue to grow and feel secure as she navigates her new life. Darlie and Debbie would do best in a calm, patient home with adopters who understand that the most meaningful bonds take time. If you have the heart to give this devoted duo the love and stability they deserve, please apply to adopt Darlie and Debbie at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Meet Debbie (and Darlie)Debbie is a 5-year-old, 13-pound off-white miniature poodle mix who is just beginning to learn how wonderful life can be. She came to Canine Collective with her mom, Darlie, after leaving an Amish breeding situation, and its no surprise that the world initially felt overwhelming for her. With patience, consistency, and kindness, Debbie has started to blossom. She has learned to potty outside and will also use washable pee pads. After her first haircut, she slowly began peeking out at this big new world and soon discovered some of lifes simple joys, like belly rubs, gentle kisses, and her favorite Snausage treats.Debbie does need time to build trust, but once she feels safe, her sweet and gentle nature shines through. She is deeply bonded to her mom Darlie, and because of that special connection, DEBBIE AND DARLIE MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. Debbie and Darlie are ready to leave their past behind and begin a brighter future together. If you have the patience to go slow and the heart to give them the love they deserve, please apply to adopt Debbie and Darlie at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.
