Story
Meet Teddy Ruxpin — the 20 lb whirlwind  of scruff you didn’t know your life was missing. At just 6 months old, this doodle mix is powered by pure joy and a love of all things squeaky. He’s always ready to play and keep you laughing with his goofy antics. Teddy is still very much a puppy, which means he’s learning the ropes of being the best boy—but he’s smart, eager, and totally food-motivated (a training dream in a scruffy package). Teddy would thrive in an active home that can keep up with his enthusiasm for life and help him grow into the amazing dog he’s clearly going to be. After he’s burned off that puppy energy? He’s happy to crash nearby and recharge for his next round of fun. If you’re looking for a fun, lovable sidekick, Teddy Ruxpin is ready to bounce right into your heart.   All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   April 4, 2026, 10:33 am

Story
Meet Espuma! 🐾 Espuma is a 5-year-old Poodle/Chihuahua mix with the nice blend of charm, personality, and sweetness. This handsome little guy may be a bit shy when you first meet him, but give him a little time and patience, and he’ll quickly show you just how devoted and loving he can be. Once Espuma feels safe and comfortable, his true personality shines! He absolutely loves being with his people and will happily soak up all the attention you’re willing to give. Whether it’s snuggle time on the couch or following you around the house, Espuma just wants to be part of your world. He does have a bit of a dominant streak once he settles in, but he plays very well with dogs he knows and trusts. In fact, when he’s not cuddled up next to you, he loves to snuggle with his tiny foster sister. He’s playful, affectionate, and full of heart. Mealtime is important to Espuma — he prefers to dine solo like the little gentleman he is… unless, of course, you’d like to share a bite or two! 😉 If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will bond deeply with you and bring both cuddles and character into your life, Espuma might just be your perfect match. Could Espuma be your new best friend? 💕

Story
JEFFERSON and MONROE are a darling pair of Shih-Poo (Shih Tzu/Poodle)-type cutie pies. These boys are absolutely darling. They are around 3-4 years old and fully grown, Jefferson at 17 lbs. and Monroe at 11 pounds. These two are simply delightful, easygoing and loving. They are a ready-made family! The boys are fine with other small dogs. Jefferson and Monroe came to us from a rural shelter and were in absolutely deplorable condition when they arrived, hair overgrown and heavily matted and in need of dental cleanings (that's not a reflection on the shelter, it's the result of a neglectful owner). Jefferson and Monroe have lived their lives together, and we'd like to find them a home where they can stay together forever and receive the loving care small long-haired dogs require. If we must separate them, they must go to homes with another similar-sized friendly dog. We will not send them to homes where they will be the only dog.   Adoption requirements: We are looking for an adopter with small long-haired dog experience. These boys will require regular professional grooming. This isn't just a cosmetic issue, it's a health issue, heavy matting can cause skin problems and infections. They need a home with an adopter prepared for that regular expense. Their adopter(s) must also understand the dental needs of small dogs to keep their toofers from becoming a rotted mess. Jefferson and Monroe will receive a dental cleaning prior to their adoption being finalized, their adopters must stay on top of their dental care.   If you would like to meet Jefferson and Monroe, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 19, 2026, 4:15 pm

Story
Meet MILES, an adorable little dog with a really bad haircut. Seriously, how can he look so cute with such a horrible DIY grooming job?? Miles is a tiny 9 pound 3-4 year old mixed breed boy looking for a home. Siri says he looks like a a Maltipoo (Maltese/Poodle)/Havanese mix. Honestly, we have no clue on breed, he's just adorable and sweet and loving. He's a little timid in new situations and when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly and LOVES treats. Big dogs frighten little Miles. So far he hasn't shown a lot of interest in other dogs, he's a big fan of people and cuddles. Miles is a well behaved little guy who walks well on a leash and has an adorable happy little trot. Miles' beautiful, soft red and white coat will require regular PROFESSIONAL grooming to keep him looking and feeling fabulous. His adopter must be prepared for that expense. Grooming isn't merely a cosmetic issue with long-haired dogs, it is a health issue. Matted hair is painful for dogs, becomes unsanitary and can cause serious infections. If you'd like to adopt Miles, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.
