Meet Kodi — proof that age is just a number. At 12 years old and just 6.5 pounds, Kodi is the kind of loyal, low-maintenance companion dreams are made of. He’s house-trained (even in the rain!), sleeps quietly through the night in his crate, and quickly mastered the doggie door like the smart little guy he is. Kodi loves nothing more than being near you—happily curled up at your side or trotting along on a walk, just glad to be included. He is gentle, calm, and full of life, with so much love left to give. He eats only canned food due to his lack of teeth and his age. Kodi didn’t deserve to be surrendered to a shelter by his owner but now he’s ready to be someone’s whole world. Maybe yours? We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Dixie is a playful, cuddly puppy with a heart full of love and energy to match. She has spent her whole life surrounded by family, growing up alongside her siblings, her mom Lulu, and her aunt Bella. Because of that, sheâÂÂs incredibly social with other dogs and loves being part of the action. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people or pets at first, it doesnâÂÂt take long before her goofy, affectionate personality starts to shine through. Dixie is the perfect mix of playful puppy and professional snuggler. She loves running around outside, chewing on her favorite toys, going for walks, and spending quality time with her people. Treats are absolutely the way to her heart, and she already knows how to sit and offer her paw when she sees one coming. Smart, eager to learn, and incredibly loving, sheâÂÂs already crate trained and continuing to make progress with leash training. Her foster family describes her as sweet, intelligent, and full of life. Whether sheâÂÂs wrestling with her siblings, greeting visitors with excitement, or curling up for cuddles after playtime, Dixie brings joy wherever she goes. She would thrive in a home with space to play, lots of attention, and a family ready to help her continue growing into the amazing dog sheâÂÂs becoming. Dixie and Daisy are puppies with a lot of energy, who will grow up to be medium to large dogs. We do not recommend adopting two puppies of the same age together due to the risk of littermate syndrome, so they are no needing to be adopted together, but would love another doggy friend in the home to play with and show them the ropes! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Pictures will be posted when we have them. This sweet doodle came to us as a breeder release, which means life as a family pet is all brand new to them. They are still learning about the world outside of a kennel setting and will need a patient, understanding home that is willing to give them time to adjust and build confidence at their own pace. They do best with routine, gentle guidance, and positive reinforcement. While initially shy or unsure in new situations, their personality continues to shine more each day. Many breeder-release dogs thrive in homes with another friendly, confident dog to help show them the ropes. He is crate trained, does well with other dogs, but is not comfident with leash skills. They are not a “plug-and-play” dog and will need time to decompress, but with consistency and love, they become incredibly loyal and affectionate companions. Adopters should understand that adjustment can take several weeks or longer, and moments of insecurity or hesitation are normal during this transition. The reward is watching a dog learn what it means to be safe, loved, and part of a family. His new home needs to continue to build his confidence so he does not anxiously bark when in new situations. Pops needs a home without young children- the noise and chaos is more then he can handle. He would thrive in a calmer home environment where not much changes. He does great with a consistent routine and clear boundaries. Pops has come a long way from the stormy day he was found in terrible condition, with badly matted fur and sores hidden underneath. Ronnie is a 2-year-old miniature poodle weighing around 15 pounds, and despite everything he’s been through, this little guy still greets the world with love. Before coming to rescue, Ronnie spent weeks wandering the streets searching for food, safety, and someone willing to help him. Day after day he tried to survive on his own until one very dedicated angel stayed out until 2am patiently earning his trust- finally getting him to safety. Perhaps the most heartbreaking part was that we were able to locate his previous owner who said they let him out the door because they didnt want him. One single night of warmth, soft blankets, and uninterrupted sleep in his foster home changed everything. By morning, Ronnie revealed the sweetest, most loving personality hiding underneath all that fear and exhaustion. Ronnie absolutely adores people and wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. He is wonderful with dogs of all sizes, great with cats, and does well with children. He is crate trained, leash trained, and learning the ropes of being the perfect houseguest. Ronnie thrives on love, reassurance, and companionship. He would greatly benefit from having another dog to learn from. Because of his past, Ronnie does struggle with being left alone and may whine when separated from his people. He is looking for a patient and understanding home that can continue helping him build confidence, stability, and routine while showing him that he will never be abandoned again.
