We received this timid girl from a hoarding case where she received absolutely no human interaction. She is extremely shy and will take weeks-months to come around and trust you. She is not your typical companion. She needs a very patient home that will continue to work with her emotional needs. We believe she is a miniature poodle weighing around 25-30 pounds full grown. She has showed so much potential in her experienced foster home and continues to be a wonderful companion. Here is what her foster has to say …. Hi! My name is Sweetie Pie and Candy Girl. My foster is letting me pick my own name. I give quick looks of acknowledgement when either of those are used. I don’t trust people; I have really never been exposed to them. My ideal home would have at least a 6-foot fence (I got serious hops for my size). I would love to have another easy going K9! Size doesn’t matter my foster Nana has a miniature pinscher (10 yrs old), Doberman pinscher (8), Frenchie (2) and a demon cat (more about her later). My favorite is the Doberman she sleeps in the crate with me when I am not in my bed on the bed. I prefer to eat in my crate. If kept too long (like on church days) I might potty in my crate if fed before Nana goes to sit with the Jesus crew. Normally I will potty on the potty pads. I will go outside to potty, but because I have a hard time trusting I will hide! I am exceptionally great at hide and seek. I will look at you searching for me and not say a word! I don’t mind being in a crate but a gated room not so much. I will jump it or hurt myself trying to escape. I am as sweet as pie! I was never groomed but I let Nana shave all the mats off me and clip my toenails. When it is bath time you and I will be getting bathed at the same time….lol. Yep, I will cling to you. Now I have not a care in the world about cats, but demon cat does not care for me! If you have the time and patience, I am your candy girl! Cilantro was one of the most badly matted dogs we have ever taken into rescue. He was found roaming the streets and was in sorry shape, indeed! Along with the matting of his coat, our vet discovered that he had a major hernia, which was immediately removed. A Doodle mix, he is about 2 years old and weighs 53 pounds. Now he's a happy, happy boy who is super sweet, a real cuddle bug who loves toys and going on walks. In fact, he's a real social butterfly! Meet Dexter! Dexter is an absolute doll and a fluffy ball of love and affection. This precious gentleman has spent his entire life being passed around like an old sweater: worn out, tossed aside, rehomed again and again whenever he became “inconvenient.” His most recent stop was only a few short months, through no fault of his own. Now, Dexter is thriving in his foster home and finally getting the love he’s always deserved. His personality is shining and we’ve discovered he’s a comfort connoisseur who carefully arranges every bed and approximately seventeen blankets until the snuggle geometry is just right. He also loves wearing warm clothes on cold days. Dexter gets along beautifully with two resident cats, enjoys long sniffy walks, and has started showing off his playful side, especially with small, soft toys he can proudly carry around. After a lifetime of being overlooked, Dexter is devoted to his person. He’s a top-tier snuggler who loves being petted and follows his foster mom from room to room like a loyal little shadow. If she leaves, he gently collects a shoe or two to nap with. Not to chew, just to feel close. He’s just a great pup. Dexter would love a home with people who are around often, enjoy a cozy routine, and have another dog companion for him. He walks well on leash, rides nicely in the car, and would enjoy a fenced yard to explore. He sleeps through the night with adorable snores, and while he's housetrained he does best with a predictable routine and regular opportunities to go outside. Gentle guidance and lots of affection are his love language. He has some hearing loss, mild arthritis, and itchy skin (all managed with care) and is on a special diet to help him gain weight and soothe his stomach.
