Story
Miniature Poodle Male Cream 13 years old 17 lbs Meet Calvin – Your Gentle Golden Oldie Calvin is a sweet, 13-year-old poodle mix with a heart full of love. This quiet, gentle boy is housebroken, adores his cozy bed, and simply wants to be near his person. He gets along well with other dogs but would be just as content as your one and only. Despite some hearing and vision impairments, Calvin still lights up at mealtime, doing a little happy dance for his treats. He’d thrive in a calm home with someone looking for a low-maintenance companion who gives unconditional love and tail wags in return. Calvin may be a senior, but he’s full of heart and ready to be your best friend. Please Note: **No children under 10!** If you are interested in adopting CALVIN please go to our website www.somersetcottagepoodlerescue.org to see our adoption process and download the adoption application or click below on ADOPT ME! CALVIN's adoption donation is $550

Story
Meet Percival, a 20 lb., male poodle mix pup with a heart full of love and a gentle spirit.  Estimated to be around 2 years old, Percival is an absolute sweetheart.   He is incredibly devoted and protective of his person, offering a quiet loyalty that makes him the perfect companion. Percival is house-trained, crate-trained, and walks beautifully on a leash.  While he loves nothing more than following his foster mom around the house, he also enjoys taking a short walk and playing chase with his foster sister dog.  He can be a little nervous meeting new people, especially men, but once he’s warm up to you he’ll be the most loving and cuddling pup.  He's up-to-date on his vaccinations, healthy, spayed and ready for his forever home.  Because he doesn’t like being alone, Percival would probably do best with a retired person or a family where someone is home most of the time.  If you're looking for a sweet, gentle companion who always wanted to be by your side, Pervical is your guy! PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2378752##

Name: Jim          Best Guess for Breed: Poodle mix   Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of June 2025         SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight: 30 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!   Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here!   Check out these videos of Jim: https://youtu.be/bhmTk94E6uA, https://youtube.com/shorts/sUtls0nsRZs.Special adoption considerations: This dog was rescued from a breeding operation that is shutting its doors. He has not been well socialized with new people and has lived his whole life with other dogs.  New nosies, cars, bikes, and other things may create fear and anxiety.  He will need a patient adopter who can give him time to come out of their shell and learn that the world is a wonderful and welcoming place.Because he is nervous and shy, he is REQUIRED to go to a home with a confident, welcoming resident dog who will show her the ropes. Jim is Looking For:  His forever home, filled with snuggles and opportunities to see the world outside of a kennel. One where he is a cherished part of a family. He's very sweet, shy, and SO ready to be a Real Dog. Extra patient and loving humans who introduce him to new places and people at his pace and a welcoming resident dog who will show him how to dog are high on his wish list! Along with quality kibble, a cushy dog bed, and endless snuggles. And one more thing: That type of coat is high maintenance. It needs daily brushing and professional grooming. Mats hurt. You know what you get out of adopting a dog like that? An incredibly sweet and grateful dog who gives you all those adoring gazes, all the love and loyalty in his body, for all his days. What do you say? Is he the one for you? Are you his new chapter and forever home? What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once this pup has spent time in foster care.Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
