This pregnant Labradoodle’s owner was taking her to the pound when AFH intervened and saved her. She’s now in an AFH foster home where she can deliver her puppies in a safe environment.  The father of the puppies is a purebred white German Shepherd.  She was seen by a vet and x rays revealed that she is expecting 10 puppies. /Scout is a lovable, curious, sweet pup. She has done well out in public and is good with other dogs and children. She has made herself at home in her crate and welcomed attention from everyone who wanted to greet her. She loves attention! Meet Teddy! 🐾✨ Teddy is a tiny 10-lb ball of fluff and happiness with the softest curls and the sweetest little face. One look at him and you’ll understand why everyone falls in love instantly — he’s basically a living teddy bear. This 1-year-old miniature poodle is as loving as they come. Teddy adores cuddles, gives top-tier snuggles, and has a permanently happy outlook on life. He was born with only one eye, but it doesn’t faze him one bit — he’s confident, joyful, and living his very best life. This little guy is pure sunshine. He loves car rides and adventures, greets everyone like an old friend, and does wonderfully with kids, cats, and other dogs. Teddy is crate trained, housebroken, and an all-around good boy who just wants to be loved. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, and ready to find a forever home that will cherish his adorable face, happy spirit, and endless cuddles. Teddy may be small in size, but his heart (and personality!) are absolutely huge. RPACI is a non profit rescue, and currently possess our 501C3 to operate as such. All dogs from this rescue are transported from Alabama to the Pennsylvania/ New England/ Virginia area and delivered in Pennsylvania, Virginia and RI. Each dog will come fully vetted. The remainder of the fee will be paid once you pick up the dog. Naturally the 100.00 comes off the total owed at pick up. It will be refunded if for any reason you decide you do not want to adopt, unless the transport has already left.with the dog. Story
Meet Carter! This adorable little Poodle pup was found as a stray and taken in by a Good Samaritan who reached out to our rescue for help. He was unneutered and treated for ear infections and a UTI, but is otherwise a healthy boy. His coat was a bit unkempt at first, but after a full groom, his fluffy white curls look healthy and full again. Carter was originally fostered in NC with two small senior dogs. Like many pups, he needed a little time to settle in and find his place in the pack, but he coexisted well with the other dogs. He’s more dominant than submissive and was initially a bit protective of affection and toys, but once he adjusted, and especially after being neutered, he relaxed significantly. He arrived on transport 12/6 and has settled quickly into his local foster home. He’s loving life as an only dog and bonded instantly with his foster parents, Neha and Salil. Carter is a confident, cuddly, affectionate boy and a total people-lover. He wants to be right by your side and happily snuggles in bed at night. He’s friendly with everyone he meets! He’s been around a 6-year-old and did great, but because he gets a little jumpy with excitement, we think he’s best with kids 7+. He is housetrained and crate-trained, and is crated when left alone. He’s not a huge crate fan, but he settles better crated than loose in a new environment. A flexible schedule would be a big plus as he transitions into a new home. If you’re looking for a best friend who follows you everywhere—to the couch, the dinner table, the bed, or even the bathroom, Carter is your guy. He enjoys his daily walks (pulls a bit but overall good!), rides nicely in the car, loves toys, and will happily entertain himself. He’s eager to please and already knows “sit,” and is working on “come.” Neha shares: “He’s a total sweetheart with all people, rarely barks, and is an expert snuggler. Story
Zoey is a healthy, sweet-tempered 5-year old mini poodle. She is patient and gentle, never aggressive, great with kids. She loves other dogs and is good with cats. She is fairly low maintenance, enjoys walks and loves attention but also does well lounging around the house. Her only real problem is an anatomical issue (ectopic ureter) which causes her to leak urine on occasion. So she is house-trained but will still have accidents because the pee leaks out of her body when she is lying down. To correct this, she would need surgery (which, we are told, has around a 70% success rate, so no guarantees it would even work). This condition does not affect her health (aside from increased susceptibility to UTIs) or temperament but can be very frustrating to deal with. Sometimes she has gone 6 months or more without an issue, but other times she’ll have several accidents in the same week.
