Story
PLEASE READ ENTIRE POST AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION - DAWSON BREED - Miniature Poodle mix SIZE - About 10 pounds AGE - 1-2 years GENDER - Male MEDICAL CONCERNS - None known BEHAVIOR CONCERNS - None known SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS - Dawson is a very sweet dog who can display some initial aggression in new situations and with new people. Once he gets comfortable with new people and understands that he is not the boss, he becomes much more loving. He is young and active, so will need a very specific home: one without children, with an experienced alpha owner, and one where he is given regular activity and mental stimulation. He is a smart fellow and would likely be a great choice for training. Dawson is small, only about 10 pounds and fully grown. He is shaped much like a dachshund. He is in good health, neutered, microchipped, up to date with vaccines and on heart worm prevention. Our adoption process starts with your email to carerescue@aol.com or Adopt a Pet inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of the dog and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and the dog at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting the dog and determining that it matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner. Story
Snowy is a name that means "filled with frozen rain. Not sure how that fits me. I am an 8 year old, female, poodle mix who has most likely never been around frozen rain as I have spent my life in the heat of South Texas.I'm thought to be a maltipoo ( Maltese poodle mix) but since I was found foraging for food in a Cheetos bag, it is anyone's guess as to what kind of mix I am. Foster Mom named me Snowy because I am white as the driven snow and I seemed to respond to the name. Enough about my name.... and more about me. I am a huge lap dog. I love, love, love my people and want to be around them all the time. I like to be the center of attention and I paw my foster mom when she stops petting me. I like to play with foster mom but I don't seem to know what to do with toys. I also enjoy following foster mom around the house and sleeping in her bed ( can you say spoiled?). I get along with other dogs, big and small, but do not do well with cats. I would do best in a home with older children only and with owners who like to take me for walks. I should live in a house ( vs. a condo or apartment) since I like to bark at real and imagined things outside. I am crate and potty trained and ride well in the car. So, as you can see, I am an all around good dog that is all ready for my next chapter. Are you my next chapter? If so, have your peeps call my peeps and we'll get this love affair started.

Story
*will pay adoption fee!* Tucker is a people-loving, tennis ball obsessed dog that loves to be outside and cuddle in your lap. Tucker was purchased from a breeder in Virginia. He is 1/2 mini poodle, 1/4 cavalier King Charles and 1/4 Bichon. He was born November 5, 2014 and is 8 years old. He's 14 lbs. Seeking new home because we have 2 small children, which has created a stressful environment for him. He has shown an increase in anxiety, separation anxiety and food/possession aggression. Would be better suited for a quieter lifestyle w/o much hustle and bustle. Behavioral issues for our family: 1. anxiety / separation anxiety that is being treated with a daily anti-anxiety medication that has mildly helped. 2. He has bitten 3 people in his 7 years, a groomer, a dog walker and a family member. 3. He barks. He jumps and licks when meeting new people. 4. He is timid and fearful around other dogs, he doesn’t spend much time with other dogs 5. He is timid with kids

Story
Meet June! She is a sweet 11 yr old poodle mix. June was adopted in 2019 and was return to us in late 2021 when her adopter was no longer able to take care of her. June was adopted out again in January of 2022 but has just been returned again for developing "resource guarding" of her owners against the other dogs in the house and having separation anxiety. June is doing well in her foster home, sits nicely in her crate and does fine when left alone. She likes cats! As she gets more comfortable, she may develop bad habits again so she needs an adopter that will work with and train her and maybe consider anti-anxiety meds if necessary. June would love to find a home that is quiet and allows her to be the lap dog she wants to be. She is not fond of children and because of her newly acquired resource guarding, she should be the only pet in the home. We have discovered that she is scared of thunder storms and fireworks and she gets medication for it when needed. June is housebroken and crate trained.
