**If you`re interested in meeting, please fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet and we will be in touch to schedule an appointment**Baby Bear is a 12-pound male pup with a big personality and a clear preference for being the king of his castle. He’s not interested in sharing his home or his people with other dogs, so he’ll thrive best as the only pet. Baby Bear also isn’t a fan of small children; any kids in the home will need to be old enough to understand and respect his space and boundaries.Baby Bear needs a savvy home that can help him be his best with lots of boundaries and expectations of behavior. He is extremely vocal and not suited for apartment living. This little guy also requires regular grooming to keep him healthy, comfortable, and looking his best. If you`re searching for a loyal companion who enjoys a peaceful home and one-on-one attention, Baby Bear could be the perfect match.

Story
Welcome Polly to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 6-pound Mini Schnauzer mixed with Chihuahua. She should be 15 pounds or less full grown. Her mom looks exactly like a high mixed schnauzer. Polly is very fluffy and while he likes being held. In fact, she is less active than her brother Teddy and cuddlier. She is crate trained, good with his sibling, good in a car and uses potty pads. She isn’t overly vocal and is the next most fluffy in the litter. She is not a shedder at all that we can see. Her coat is soft and if you groomed her in a schnauzer cut, would look like a mini black schnauzer. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older, due to his small size. Puppies are best with someone not working all day every day. She needs time with her human and time to finish up her puppy training. She is small enough and social, so he would be a good one to take places with you. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 600 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Story
Welcome Ruby to CCPAL foster program. Ruby is a 4-year old Schnauzer/Yorkie dog. She weighs about 15 pounds. She was found on the streets of Texas roaming with another dog. She wasn’t thin or stressed so she may have been found right after she was dumped by the original owners. Ruby is potty trained, good with other dogs and friendly to people, even strangers. She has a longer coat and is not a big shedder. She would look more like a Schnauzer with the Schnauzer cut. She is loving, smart, cuddly and ready for her new forever home. She is getting her vaccinations topped up and will be spayed before adoption. She is good in a car and decent on a leash. She would be fine in a home with a smaller condo sized yard. She would only need a moderately active person. A walk would be enough exercise. She is relaxed, calm and beautiful. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 400 and transport is $200. . Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Animal Information: Mango is a 3-year-old, 9lb Schnauzer mix that was brought into the shelter as a stray with Quince, the Chihuahua. She was understandably afraid, all of the barking and activity left her shaking in the back of her kennel. When the shelter staff brought her into the quiet office, she was quick to warm up and ask to sit in a lap. We saw her sweet, scruffy face and knew we had to help!  Foster Profile:  This ~3-year-old,  Schnauzer/Poodle/Chihuahua(?) mix is  funny lil cuddle beast who has come a long way since arriving from California. She's about 10 lbs and a bit of a long-bodied terrier mix with the cutest little white beard and outsized toe beans you have to see to believe.   MISS Mango (as we like to call her) is affectionate, sensitive, and dog-social. She loves to snuggle and nap with both her people and resident foster brother (DGS alum) on the bed or couch. However, she also prefers to take things at her own pace as she builds trust before being picked up or held, but she's getting better at that. She follows both her humans around and requires regular chin and ear scritches, please and thank you very much. She loves men and women alike but would do best with older, dog-savvy kids. She's been around a toddler and done well, but she is not being fostered with kids.    Because Mango can experience a little separation anxiety and be vocal in the crate for a few minutes when left alone, we recommend a home without shared walls; a house with a yard would be ideal. This could be worked on and it seems to be getting better, but the quality of her yodelling may best be suited to a single family home.   While she could potentially be an only dog, she absolutely loves other pups! She gains a lot of confidence and comfort from having a secure, mature resident dog to show her the ropes.   Mango is a smart, trainable girl with a great appetite for high-value treats. She is currently working on building her confidence and basic obedience skills, including "touch", "come" and the "place" but it's a work in progress.   She already looks to her human for guidance and connection during walks, so she would be a fantastic candidate for basic obedience/dog manners classes to help her bond with her new family. She is also putting the finishing touches on her house-training, working on clear signaling that she needs to head outside.   One of Mango’s favorite ways to pass the time is through "shredding" activities, which are a great outlet for her natural energy and curiosity. Like many dogs, she finds it very satisfying to rip and tear, but she needs a little guidance on what is appropriate to shred. While she is a master at turning book jackets or important mail into confetti—the classic "dog ate my homework" excuse—we have found that she is very receptive to redirection. When given appropriate outlets, she thrives; she loves it when we hide treats inside a toilet paper or paper towel roll, or when she gets to tear up wadded-up brown paper from shipping packages. Because of this natural drive, Mango would benefit from a home that provides consistent, structured enrichment activities in general to keep her mind sharp and her energy channeled into positive habits.   Aside from being the ultimate cuddle-bug, she is a total riot to watch in the yard. When she’s playing with a ball, she has this hilarious way of getting so excited that she goes "ass-over-teakettle" then continues her romping around unfazed!    She’s also a total pro at the groomer—she handled her recent bath, haircut, and nail trim like a rockstar.   She'd be a wonderful addition to the lucky family that adopts her. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Story
Animal Information: Coconut is an approximately 1-year-old female Schnauzer mix who weighs about 12 pounds. She arrived at the shelter with her sister when their family had to move and was unable to take them along. This sweet girl has quickly won over both the staff and her canine companions. She is friendly, social, and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. After her sister found a home, Coconut joined a kennel with several small dogs and fit right in, making friends with everyone she met. With her loving personality and easygoing nature, Coconut is ready to find a family of her own. Foster Profile: Coconut has settled in really well in foster care. She does great in her crate and hasn't had any accidents as long as she's on a consistent potty schedule. She loves running around and playing with the three other dogs in the house—a large male Doberman, a German Pinscher, and a Chihuahua mix. She's also been very sweet with the two dog-respectful kids in the home, ages 2½ and 7. Coconut has come a long way with her confidence on leash, but I think she'd be happiest in a quieter suburban home without all the constant city noise. She's not much of a barker, but she does make the cutest little happy growls and "woo-woos" when her people come home. She's had no issues with the other dogs, though she'll let them know if she'd rather not be bothered while she's relaxing in her bed. She rides well in the car and, while she's a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly if they're patient and let her come to them. Once she feels comfortable, she's a really sweet, easy little dog. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
