Medical Hold due to Heartworm Treatment Medical costs to date:  $1,766.93 Please help us with Camden's extraordinary medical costs by donating via PayPal:    paypal.me/scottiekingdomrescue  or you may use email address Rescue@scottiekingdom.com. All donations are acknowledged. 7-28-22:  Camden has completed his 2nd and 3rd heartworm treatments.  He now requires another 30+ days of confinement and will see the vet again in six weeks to see if he has been cleared of heartworms.  Added updated photo. 3-9-22:  Camden was neutered today and had a full dental.  He lost 4 teeth due to gum disease and an abscess.  He has tested heartworm positive, so he will have to go through treatment over the next 90+ days. He cannot be adopted during this time.  We anticipate he will be available for adoption on 9-15-22. Little Camden is a Maltipoo who came to us after his owner had passed away.  Camden found himself outside, being fed by the neighbors.  When he wasn't seen for a few days, everyone assumed he had runoff.  But in reality, Camden was "living" under the house, in the extreme cold that we have been having lately.  He is currently at our groomer to remove the multitude of mats, some of which have grown together on his paws, which can be very painful.  He will have to be seen by our vet, neutered, and possibly have a full dental cleaning, in addition to all of the usual blood tests and vaccinations we always do before adopting a dog to their new home.  We believe Camden is 3-4 years of age. All dogs adopted by Scottie Kingdom Rescue, Inc. have had a full medical exam by one of our licensed Veterinarians, which includes testing (and treatment, if necessary) for Heartworm disease, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia and Anaplasmosis, all necessary vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, dental cleaning as necessary, microchipping, registration of the microchip, and any other medical needs each particular dog may need. Copies of all available medical records are transferred to you when the adoption is finalized. We prefer to adopt to families with past Scottie, Westie, Terrier experience, but realize this isn’t always possible.   We do NOT ship our pets. If you have that special place in your heart, and in your home, for a Scottie (or any of our other available rescue dogs), please visit us in Dallas for an in person meet & greet session with our available dogs.   If you have existing dogs, they should travel to Dallas with you, so we can be assured that they will be compatible with the new addition to your family. Please contact us at Rescue@scottiekingdom.com   to receive an Adoption Application or for more information on our Adoption process.  Also, please take the time to visit our website www.scottiekingdom.com for additional information. We sometimes receive several applications on the same dog. Our goal is to place the dog in the best home possible, based on his/her needs, personality and past history. Please note:  Adoptions are not done on a first come, first served basis.  Submitting an application does not guarantee the adoption of any dog.   We are looking for the best available home for each of our rescue dogs. Thank you for your understanding, and for considering adoption! We are not supported by your tax dollars or public grants, rather, we rely on donations to help us continue our rescue work for animals that are in need. Donations may be made via PayPal to email address: Donate@scottiekingdom.com or via USPS, to PO Box 551265 ~ Dallas, TX   75355 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.May 17, 2023, 12:20 am

Story
-Favorite thing about your foster (what is their general personality like, do they have any fun quirks/ traits)? She loves to snuggle and does little toe taps when she is excited! -What is your foster's general energy level like? low -How does your foster do in their crate? She has had no accidents in the crate and is not destructive. She will whine/bark for a couple of minutes initially but calms quickly and that is improving. -Is your foster potty trained? Yes -How does your foster do in public? She is calm and just happy to be where ever she is! -How does your foster do in the car? She would love to sit in your lap but for safety she does fine with a dog seat belt or in a kennel. -How does your foster do with other dogs? She plays for a little bit but would much rather snuggle! All positive interactions. -How does your foster do with cats? She has not met any cats but I have not seen any prey drive towards other small animals. -How does your foster do with children? Does great with kids!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Poor Marci was running the streets and some kind samaritans spent 4 months feeding her and trying to catch her.  She was in bad shape - emaciated, had open sores and scabs from a bad flea infestation, bite wounds on her face from fighting to stay alive, and pregnant.  The kind strangers saw a sweet dog who was scared and wanted to be saved.  Their effort paid off.  Marci is happy and getting healthier every day.  She is fully vetted, microchipped, and has been spayed.  This video was taken the same day she went through surgery and she was still groggy from anesthesia but still wagging her tail and happy to have been saved.  She is a super sweet little girl, gentle and likes everyone.  Please come to visit her - you may foster her so she has a loving home to recuperate in, then later adopt her if you wish.  We provide food and medical attention - All you have to do is give her the opportunity to have a great home and life!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 27, 2023, 12:17 am

Story
~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: ***** No obvious health issues found during vet exam ***** Temperament: Sammy is adorable. He was alittle slow to warm up initially, but once he got comfortable, he has been a fun, energetic, and happy boy. He loves to run, jump, spin, and most of all, he loves to be played with. He gets very excited at meal time and enjoys playing with toys. We are still working on potty training, but he does okay. I would anticipate him doing much better when he is not around so many dogs with different potty habits in rescue. -- Where did he come from: Sadly he was a stray that was never claimed. Adoption: ***** $500.00 ***** Weight: 12.3 lbs. Approximate age: 2/1/2021 ADOPTION APPLICATION: http://www.recycledpoms.org/application -- Email info@recycledpomeranians.com to request a printable application. --   ------Please remember our group is made of only volunteers all of whom have full time jobs, foster fur-kids, and families of their own, so please be patient.-------- May 30, 2023, 8:28 pm
