Bella would thrive in a calm home without loud or small children, a place where she could feel safe and loved. A fenced yard is preferred for her to be able to safely romp and burn off her playful energy. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are FeLv/FIV negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. We are open 10am-5pm Monday-Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. Meet Jake Jake is a handsome young mountain cur / retriever mix. Sadly, our Jake has been with us over a year now, which is way too long! Jake LOVES people. He is happiest when he can be with them. His eyes shine and he smiles. His body gets all wiggly in anticipation of pets or a game of fetch. This little guy is incredibly sweet and affectionate. Jake has a beautiful soft coat. He’s a medium size dog, currently weighing 50 pounds. He walks well on a leash. He loves playing in the yards and a containment fence will be important for him. He loves retrieving a tennis ball and would play all day if he could. He is energetic and is eager to be out and about hiking, walking, running or riding in a car. That said he has a calm and mindful demeanor. He is a super smart. He knows some basic commands and we think he is house-trained. Jake is looking for his special person or family to bond with. This young handsome doggo is amazing and deserves a second chance at a loving life. Jake will thrive in a home environment. The quiet and consistency of a real home will do wonders for him. Jake does not like other dogs or kitties though, so will need to be an only pet. Meet Timmy The safe and loving world Timmy knew is gone. Timmy is a five-year-old pup and he is suddenly without his mom and his home. Nothing is familiar to him, the cold cement kennel feels strange and he doesn’t know a soul. Timmy was surrendered recently. He’s confused and sad, you can see the bewilderment in his eyes. He did nothing wrong and his confidence has been shaken badly. Timmy’s Mom surrendered him when she moved in with her mother as a caregiver and there was no room for sweet and loyal Timmy in her life or home anymore. Timmy lived with his Mom since he was six weeks old. He’s perfect in every way. Timmy looks to be a lab mix. He is sweet, friendly, calm, well-mannered and gentle. He likes people and other dogs. We’ll test him with cats. Timmy walks easily on a leash, he is housetrained, and he travels well. Timmy enjoys being out in our fenced yards. He enjoys the sun and exploring. Timmy is fully vetted, neutered and ready to go. We think Timmy will transition easily into a new home. We pray his stay will be short, but it depends on finding the right home.
