Story
Dixie is SUCH a sweet and loving girl. She would love a family with a big yard in which to play and a couch so she can snuggle with you. She gives wonderful hugs. Dixie was born about Sept 2024 and is a 32 pound love puppy (though fully grown). We don’t know her breed… mountain cur, some small bully? We do know she is affectionate and intelligent. She is fully vetted, spayed and microchipped. She has one problem and we DO have the solution. Dixie has a condition called Diabetes Insipidus. This is probably NOT the diabetes you are familiar with. She does not need insulin shots but she does require a twice daily pill; Desmopressin. The rescue will reimburse the adopter for her medication monthly and for her required checkups for her lifetime. She does require a secure above ground, fenced yard as she was found loose and lost once. Please use our adoption application form found at https://www.jackrusselladoptions.org/adopt-a-dog/

Story
BellaMountain CurFemaleDOB: 7/1/23Adoption Fee: $200Bella is a sweet, happy girl who's a little more outgoing than her brother Brody, but she still takes a moment to warm up to new people. Once she knows you're a friend, her joyful personality shines through- she loves to play, explore, and share her cheerful energy with those she trusts. She does do well with most other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion who matches her friendly but laid back vibe. Bella would thrive in a calm home without loud or small children, a place where she could feel safe and loved. A fenced yard is preferred for her to be able to safely romp and burn off her playful energy. This amazing girl will fill your days with quiet happiness and tail wags, so please come meet her today! Please read the animal bios completely before requesting additional information as we do our best to answer the most frequently ask questions in these bios. In order to adopt one of our animals an application must be submitted and approved. You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. We are open 12pm-5pm Sunday-Friday and 10 am-5pm on Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Story
Hey there, Im Sierra! Im a 3-year-old Mountain Cur mix, and Im just a chill, sweet little lady looking for head scratches, belly rubs, and maybe a nice yard to explore.

Im a pretty reserved gal. Im friendly and curious, but a little shy when I first meet someone new. New places can make me a bit nervous too, and I just need some time to settle in and feel comfortable. Dont take it personally if I keep my distance at first or give you a little side-eye! Just stay calm, take it slow, and Ill soon wander over for a sniff -- and maybe even let you get some gentle pets and scratches in. Im really quite friendly and mellow once I warm up!

One thing to know about me right now is that Im heartworm positive. But Im currently receiving all the treatment I need to get that cleared up. That also means Im on a take-it-easy routine for the time being. Leash walks only, and no trail runs or big yard zoomies just yet. Honestly though? Im totally fine with that. I love the chill pace of life. Calm walks, relaxing outside, hanging close to my favorite people, thats my idea of a perfect day!

Id do well in all kinds of homes, but my ideal family is a patient one, wholl give me the time and space to get comfortable at my own pace. If youre looking for a sweet, laid-back companion to share the slow life with, I just might be your perfect match.

Come say hi!

Story
Meet beautiful Diamond! Sadly, she was surrendered to the shelter on 5/28 because her family is moving and could not take her along. Her former family did note that Diamond is house-trained, good with children, and good with other dogs! The volunteers remember Diamond from when she was just a puppy before she was adopted, so it’s especially heartbreaking to see her back at the shelter. Diamond is a loving, playful, curious, and intelligent girl who is ready to find a forever family to love her for life. She already knows several commands, including sit, down, and stay, and she enjoys learning and spending time with her people. If you’re looking for a fun companion to join you on walks, adventures, and cozy time at home, Diamond would love to be your new best friend! Diamond is approximately 11 months old, and weighs 47 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, has been spayed and microchipped, and did test negative for heartworms. Please come meet Diamond in kennel 48; her ID # is 16559. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Poppi is a 1 year old with a heart as big as her energy level! This playful, affectionate girl is bursting with love and personality—and her beautiful, unique facial markings make her as stunning as she is sweet. Poppi can be a little timid at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to break out of her shell and show her true, loving self. Because she’s still so young, she’ll need a family who’s patient and understanding as she grows into a confident, mature girl. She’s great with kids, other dogs, and even cats, making her a wonderful addition to just about any family. Poppi is very affectionate and thrives on attention and companionship. Whether she’s chasing toys, exploring the backyard, or snuggling up for some love, Poppi brings joy wherever she goes. She’s already house-trained and crate-trained, which is a huge plus for a pup her age! With her high energy and curious nature, she’d do best with a family that can keep her active, engaged, and included in daily life. If you’re looking for a fun-loving, smart, and social pup to grow up with your family, Poppi is ready to steal your heart—and maybe your spot on the couch, too!
