Story
Hazel was a found pup in Lawrenceville GA by a group of people who took her in before heading into traffic. She was found very skinny and possibly abused in her past. But after taking her in she still has the love for humans and adores anyone that she sees. She loves the attention, kisses and treats. She is a senior dog at least 10 years old so she still has many years left to create memories with. She is potty trained well, she will let you know when she needs to go. She sleeps alot and does not bark haha, she loves her belly rubs. Hazel seems to be the kind of dog that prefers to be alone just because of her age. So if anyone is looking for just a single dog Hazel would be the one to look into.

Story
Randy: Meet our sweet, playful Red Nosed Randy! When Randy was found wandering, he had what appeared to be a severe abrasion on his nose. It turns out that it was not an injury, but a skin condition. With the help of our vet Randy’s nose has healed but he doesn’t seem to want his fur to grow back! We think he likes being a little different! Randy loves to play and can be a bit rowdy, but with a proper introduction, and patience, he might have fun with another dog. Cats on the other hand should probably stay away! This boy is goofy, fun, and very athletic. If you are interested in a younger dog, who appears to be housebroken (he doesn’t soil his kennel), and is ready to play, come meet Red Nosed Randy. All BCAR dogs are placed as indoor family pets. No electric fences, please. Visit pets every Saturday 11:00 am to 2:00 pm (706-268-1346) or visit our website for adoption information at www.bigcanoeanimalrescue.org

Story
This brindle beauty is Nova! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl with ID on 8/6, along with her bestie, Mia. This is not their first rodeo; they've been in the shelter several times, but their family did not come for them this time. Mia has now been adopted. Nova is playful, affectionate, and friendly. She LOVES treats and will work for them! Nova is approximately 1.5 years old, and she weighs 49 lbs. She is UTD on vaccines, and she has been spayed and microchipped. Nova tested negative for heartworms so that is great news. Please come meet Nova in run 874; her ID # is 660889. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Meet Jake Jake is a handsome young mountain cur / retriever mix. Sadly, our Jake has been with us over a year now, which is way too long! Jake LOVES people. He is happiest when he can be with them. His eyes shine and he smiles. His body gets all wiggly in anticipation of pets or a game of fetch. This little guy is incredibly sweet and affectionate. Jake has a beautiful soft coat. He’s a medium size dog, currently weighing 50 pounds. He walks well on a leash. He loves playing in the yards and a containment fence will be important for him. He loves retrieving a tennis ball and would play all day if he could. He is energetic and is eager to be out and about hiking, walking, running or riding in a car. That said he has a calm and mindful demeanor. He is a super smart. He knows some basic commands and we think he is house-trained. Jake is looking for his special person or family to bond with. This young handsome doggo is amazing and deserves a second chance at a loving life. Jake will thrive in a home environment. The quiet and consistency of a real home will do wonders for him. Jake does not like other dogs or kitties though, so will need to be an only pet. If interested in Jake, please submit a dog application online at www.charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Please call our shelter at 706-865-4135 or email us at smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net to let us know to be on the lookout. All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are either owner relinquished rescued from area Animal Controls or high kill shelters. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open.

Story
There's a dog named Curly who was saved from being euthanized. Curly is currently very fearful and scared of his surroundings. However, we are committed to helping him overcome his fears, and we believe that given time, he will improve. Curly is particularly sensitive to noise, and a calm, quiet environment would be ideal for him. It's recommended that he be placed in a home without young children, but with a female dog to provide him with reassurance and support. Curly needs a patient and understanding owner who can help him build confidence and trust. Although he's frightened and hesitant to interact at the shelter, he is a sweet dog who longs for companionship and care. Additionally, Curly could benefit from a good brushing, but his fear prevents us from touching him. With the right approach, Curly has the potential to become a loving and affectionate companion in the future. Curly is very shy, he needs to be worked with but will take time for him to trust you. He is good a dog, He doesn't walk on a leash he will just stand there and look around until you take the leash off. He doesn't like to be petted due to how scared he is of people. Curly needs to go to a home with another dog to get out of his shell he likes both boys and girls. Curly will need someone who has a lot of time and patience to help him not be in fear for his life he is always nervous and on his toes about what is going on. He came to us about 3 months ago. He needs a good routine, he needs to know that he is safe. He will need a lot of work. we are not able to touch him. Curly is not aggressive at all but just very scared of every movement you make. he gets along with dogs and cats boys and girls. He is not fixed, but don't let that stop you from Giving him a chance that he has never had before. Curly needs to get out of here we can't do anything with him due to him being so scared he is treat motivated he will take a tread out of your hand but then he will run away and any little noise or movement will scare him he likes all dogs but gets nervous when they try to play with him because he doesn't know how to play. He needs a foster who can help him be very patient with him and not rush him with anything. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/CPRG/Dog

Story
Meet Mango, an awesome dog looking for a forever home. She is incredibly smart and loves to learn. Her foster describes her as a "medium Velcro dog, meaning she wants to be around her people but won't follow you from room to room. She likes playing with other dogs after a slow introduction, but her social skills need work. She would do well with a tolerant dog sibling whop can help her learn to be more polite. Mango has a high activity level but will settle when her needs are met. She is very adept at escaping fences, but won't do so when she gets enough play time/exercise. Mango is approximately 2 years old (est. birth date 03/18/2022), weighs 50lbs, and her adoption fee is $175. Mango has been spayed, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Mango, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Meet Juliette! /(^.^)\ Hello big world, my name is Juliette and I am a beautiful brindle Plott Hound Mix. I am roughly 2.5 years old and weigh 31 pounds. I am a true sweetheart who adores cuddling and any kind of affection, making me the perfect lap companion for cozy nights in. I am no ordinary lap dog-I am a fearless climber of kennels, always eager to explore and conquer new heights. I do keep a clean kennel and walk well on a leash. I do get along well with other dogs. I did come to HSFC with a heartworm positive status, but I have finished treatment and will be retested in 6 months to make sure those pesky heartworms are gone. I am currently up for adoption, so if you are interested in learning more about her, please put in an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 and Friday and Saturday 1-5. All my beauty and sweetness, Juliette /(^.^)\
