Story
Current Location: Richmond, VA MEET WOODY! Woody is a big-hearted, lovable dog who just wants to be part of the family. His tail seems to wag on autopilot, and his sweet personality shines through the moment he feels comfortable. Woody is loyal, affectionate, and always ready to play or curl up close once he’s had his fun. Energy and Personality Woody has a medium to high energy level. He loves to play and zoom around the yard but settles nicely afterward for naps or quiet time. He’s happiest when included in the action and enjoys being close to his people. He can be a little whiny when left out, but it’s mostly because he loves company. Training and Behavior Woody is 99% house trained and quickly learned to use the outdoors as his restroom. He’s done great in a fenced yard and hasn’t made any escape attempts. He does fine in a large wire crate but can get vocal for a bit before settling. Because he’s not destructive when left alone, his foster family doesn’t always use the crate. Woody responds well to direction, listens when corrected, and can easily be redirected with a toy. Social Life Woody gets along well with some dogs, usually smaller dogs. He gets along with his foster mom's big dog but mostly prefers to be an only dog so he can soak up all his family's attention. He can be a bit overenthusiastic in play because he doesn’t always realize his size, but he means well and adjusts quickly with guidance. He has also done well with the resident cat, respectfully backing off after a warning hiss. Woody has met delivery people and neighborhood visitors and may bark at first, but he quiets down when told. Quirks and Special Traits Woody is a sweet, affectionate dog who thrives on love and inclusion. He’s playful, loyal, and loves a good cuddle session after a day of fun. His expressive nature and big personality make him a joy to have around. Best Home Fit Woody would do well in a home familiar with larger breeds or energetic dogs. He would love a family who enjoys playtime, outdoor activities, and has room for him to stretch his legs. A home where he’s not left alone for long periods would make him happiest. This dog tested positive for heartworm disease before arriving to the rescue. The disease was treated while in foster care. Heartworm disease is transmitted to a dog through a bite from an infected mosquito. With monthly preventatives, the disease is completely preventable. Story
At almost two years old, sweet Buffy is a fun, loving puppy dawg. She's up for adoption because another owner could meet her needs better. Our family had a baby, and we must move across the country for work. With supervision, she's great with the baby, but finding a home that meets all the needs of our family is becoming too big a challenge. Buffy has had some training, and is crate-trained. She was adopted from the SPCA at 11.5 weeks old, and is fully up to date on her shots. She was spayed five months ago. She has been kept on an excellent diet, and has no health problems. She's a hardy dog who is soft to pet, and loves hugs. There have been some issues with walking her. She does excellent when given a backyard to guard. She isn't aggressive, but is a strong, hyper young dog. She is great at detecting when it is the right time to alert. She is an excellent guard dog, and she's and ready for adventure. Crate and dog items come with Buffy. Experienced owners only; Buffy is young.

Jojo isn’t just along for the ride; she’s a true partner who will keep you smiling with her expressive nature and clever mind. Jojo does best with consistency and a patient, understanding home where she can continue to build trust and confidence. To learn more about Rogue, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Thinking of adding a beautiful brindle friend to your home? It’s time to go Rogue! Rogue is a lovely, sweet dog looking for a home where she can relax and be herself. When she gets excited she just doesn't wag her tail, she does a fully body wiggle. She is both people and dog friendly. She loves to play with her foster dog sibling and they can be found romping in the back yard or napping together around the house. She's good at doing her business outside and knows the queue 'potty'. Rouge has loads of potential as a great companion!
