Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Meet JoJo, your future best friend and resident ray of sunshine! This adorable 4-year-old mountain cur mix is bursting with personality, bringing zoomies, curiosity, and a playful spirit wherever she goes. She’s sweet, friendly, and full of charm—basically, a total joie de JoJo! JoJo is the perfect mix of independent queen and affectionate sidekick. She’s happy to entertain herself with toys (bonus points if they squeak or de-stuff!) or lounge like a pro, but she’s always down for belly rubs and quality hang time. She thrives in a home where she can stretch her legs, soak up the sunshine, and show off her playful side—especially if there’s another dog around who’s ready to match her “let’s play!” energy. Whether she’s exploring the backyard, going on sniff-tastic walks, or just keeping watch at the window, JoJo brings a fun-loving, easygoing vibe wherever she goes. Smart, food-motivated, and eager to learn, JoJo is ready to keep blossoming with someone who will guide her and share in her adventures. She’s got a big heart, a playful streak, and just the right amount of spunky charm to keep life interesting. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who can go from backyard explorer to couch cuddler in record time, JoJo is ready to wag her little nubby tail straight into your heart!

Story
Oakley, affectionately known as 'Dottie girl ' by her foster family, has such a sweet, lovable, big personality and is very eager to please!  This Pit/Mountain Curr mix is a total Phoenix that has risen from the fires of neglect, abandonment and even successfully raised her litter of puppies in the woods for the first 10 weeks of life. They were all successfully adopted in the Fall and living wonderful lives of love and commitment from their families.  Oakley is the perfect girl that lives with anyone and everyone that comes her way.  She embraces all people and dogs and she just lives her life with resilience and tolerance.  This girl might not be a Golden Retriever in looks but she surpasses any of the commonly accepted breeds that everyone gravitates to and wants to adopt.  Take her Pit mix package look away and please consider only her SOUL?  Trust us, you will not want to look elsewhere for the most perfect and beautiful temperamented dog.  Oakley sits on command and walks nicely on a leash.  When she meets new people, she is so very social and she embraces all other dogs, adults and children alike.  This girl loves to play dress up in cozy sweaters and loves a good chew toy. HOW FUN!???? RIGHT?  If you have children she is right there to engage and play with them and their fantasies.  This Momma dog is just a young 2yr old, 40lb sweetheart who longs to be an inside dog that can cuddle up next to you on the couch and help you melt the life challenges away.   Oakley had outsmarted many rescuers for months running around the county with her litter of puppies being. When she gave in we realized what a remarkable Mom she was and the beauty of her puppies.  All of her puppies have been adopted, but now Oakley is raising her heart and hand to say…. Pick Me Too!  She deserves a remarkable future and life because she will provide the amazing dog companion to someone that can ever be imagined.  Forget the wrapper on the package and consider the heart please…You won’t regret living a life with Oakley. Story
Meet Arch – a rare little puppy who seems to have been born knowing how to be the perfect companion. Every once in a while a puppy comes along that makes everyone stop and wonder how he got to be so wonderful without much training or attention early in life. Arch is exactly that kind of puppy. From the moment he arrived in foster care, he has impressed everyone with his sweet nature, intelligence, and easygoing personality. Arch was born around December 8 and is a handsome brindle boy believed to be a Mountain Cur mix. At just three months old he weighs about 11 pounds, and we expect him to grow into a 35–40 pound adult depending on which side of the family tree shows up the most. One of the first things you’ll notice about Arch is his incredibly soft coat. His velvety fur makes you want to stroke his head and run your hand all the way down his back. And his personality is just as lovable as his looks. When he gets excited to see you, he hops around like a little bunny, full of joy and enthusiasm. Arch is a very people-oriented puppy. Rather than running off exploring on his own, he prefers to stay close and simply follow his people around the yard. Call his name and he comes running—his recall is already excellent and he seems to know his name right away. He’s a bright little guy who is eager to learn and connect with his humans. In his foster home, Arch lives with dogs of all sizes. He happily runs around with the big dogs and doesn’t mind the older, more serious little ladies who sometimes find his playful energy a bit much. His feelings never seem to get hurt—he just keeps bouncing along enjoying life. Like any young puppy, Arch is learning new things every day. He is currently figuring out how to walk on a leash and wear a collar for the first time. He is also working on house training and is learning both pee pads and outdoor potty breaks. He sleeps well in his crate and can usually make it almost all night. Arch is curious, alert, and full of personality. One of his favorite things is burrowing under blankets on the couch or in bed. He also has a funny little habit of collecting his foster mom’s bedroom shoes and proudly gathering them into his dog bed like treasured toys. This boy loves his meals and is always interested in whatever his humans are eating too, which will make food a great motivator for training. If you are looking for a loving, intelligent puppy who will grow into a loyal companion, Arch may be your once-in-a-lifetime dog. He has the personality, the brains, and the heart to become an incredible family member. Arch will be ready for adoption around March 20. He will be neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormed before going home. Critter Cavalry Rescue adopts to Tennessee residents and can also transport to many northeastern states using a licensed animal transport service. If you would like to give this special boy a forever home, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com Please include your city and state when inquiring.     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comApril 16, 2026, 6:05 pm

Story
At almost two years old, sweet Buffy is a fun, loving puppy dawg. She's up for adoption because another owner could meet her needs better. Our family had a baby, and we must move across the country for work. With supervision, she's great with the baby, but finding a home that meets all the needs of our family is becoming too big a challenge. Buffy has had some training, and is crate-trained. She was adopted from the SPCA at 11.5 weeks old, and is fully up to date on her shots. She was spayed five months ago. She has been kept on an excellent diet, and has no health problems. She's a hardy dog who is soft to pet, and loves hugs. There have been some issues with walking her. She does excellent when given a backyard to guard. She isn't aggressive, but is a strong, hyper young dog. She is great at detecting when it is the right time to alert. She is an excellent guard dog, and she's and ready for adventure. Crate and dog items come with Buffy. Experienced owners only; Buffy is young.

Story
Current Location: West Point, VA Gena’s journey is a testament to quiet strength. Found as a young puppy in Albania, she was injured, terrified, and hiding in the bushes. For a long time, she would only eat once humans walked away. But day by day, her fear turned into curiosity, and then into trust. Now 9 months old, this "fluffy mountain dog" has undergone a total transformation. Gena is: A Social Butterfly: She loves all people and gets along wonderfully with other dogs. The Perfect Travel Partner: She is a pro on the leash and enjoys riding in the car. Gentle & Calm: Despite her rough start, she has a naturally affectionate and playful nature. Gena has been spayed, fully vetted, and is physically and emotionally ready for her forever home. She survived the streets; now she just needs a family to show her she never has to hide again.

Story
To learn more about Darcy, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Scout is a 3‑year‑old Plott Hound mix who is playful, sweet, and endearingly goofy. He LOVES toys (especially carrying every single one outside to toss in the air), is great with all dogs, and will happily play for hours if you’re up for it. He’d be a great match for an active home with a fenced yard or a human who enjoys walks, runs, and outdoor time — and when it’s time to relax, Scout settles in beautifully. He is housebroken, walks nicely on leash (most of the time!), and has a wonderfully balanced energy level: he is always ready to go but is totally content to settle nearby while I work. He’s incredibly dog‑friendly and has gained confidence by watching and playing with my confident 5-year-old pup, but I believe could also do well as an only dog. He’s also respectful with toys and shows no strong prey drive on walks. With people, Scout is a gentle soul who warms up slowly to new people, but once he trusts you, his affectionate, playful personality really comes out, and he will become your best friend. Watching his confidence grow has been incredibly rewarding — he’s already come so far in the time he has been with me. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, this sweet, goofy boy could be your perfect match.
