To learn more about Tyson, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org Meet Tyson — a handsome heart-stealer who's equal parts playmate, cuddle buddy, and professional fun-maker! This lovable boy has never met a toy bin he didn’t want to empty, a dog friend he didn’t want to play with, or an adventure he didn’t want to join. Tyson is a certified playgroup superstar! He’s fantastic with other dogs, knows how to read his friends, and can go from rough-and-rowdy wrestling to gentle play depending on who he’s hanging out with. He’s even been known to help shy pups come out of their shells! A confident, playful dog sibling could be the perfect partner in crime for this social guy. When playtime is over, Tyson knows how to settle in. He’s house-trained, sleeps through the night, loves a good cuddle session, and is perfectly happy lounging near his people or entertaining himself with his favorite toys and chews. He’s affectionate and has the perfect balance of energy and calm. Tyson loves exploring, going for walks, riding in the car, chasing balls in the yard, and getting his zoomies out. He’s smart, eager to please, and loves enrichment, making any desired training a fun way to keep his busy brain happy. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet and silly personality shines through! With patience, positive experiences, and continued confidence-building, Tyson is ready to show just how amazing he is. Playful? Check. Snuggly? Check. Dog-friendly? Check. Full of personality? Absolutely. Tyson is ready to find the family who will love his goofy, wiggly, wonderful self forever!

To learn more about Jojo, please get in touch with dogs@lostdogrescue.org. Jojo will be at one of our adoption events this weekend! Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. Hi, I’m Jojo—but around here I’m affectionately known as the “Potato.” Between my love of lounging, warm tan coloring, and slightly chonky build, the nickname just fits. Most days, you’ll find me rotating between couch potato and baked potato mode—curled up in a cozy spot indoors or soaking up sunbeams in the yard. I’m a relaxed girl who appreciates the simple things: good naps, warm rays, window patrol duty, and peaceful downtime. But don’t be fooled—I LOVE my walks. Long, sniff-filled strolls are a highlight of my day, and I get adorably excited when it’s time to head out or when food is on the way (my little nub tail has its own celebration routine). Backyard time is just as exciting, especially if there are squirrels or cats to monitor. I take my critter patrol responsibilities seriously, so I’ll need a secure yard with a tall fence for my supervision duties. Inside, I’m an easy, well-mannered housemate. I’m house-trained and crate-trained, though I don’t use a crate in my foster home because I do perfectly fine without one. Plush toys are a favorite, especially the ones that can be enthusiastically de-stuffed. I also enjoy other dogs who can match my goofy, rough-and-rowdy play style. When you’re out, I’m usually napping, window-watching, or thinking about snacks. I’ve got a nicely independent streak—I’m not a constant shadow—but I always make time for affection, belly rubs, and hanging out nearby. Think of me as your low-key companion with occasional bursts of happy enthusiasm. Everyone who knows me says I thrive in a home that appreciates my mix of affection, independence, and easy-going charm. In return, I bring loyalty, love, and championship-level couch companion energy. My forever family is out there somewhere—and I can’t wait for them to find their perfect little Potato.

Visit our event page (https://www.lostdogrescue.org/events/) to see which one—event listings are usually updated on Fridays with attending dogs. He loves to explore on walks (especially with plenty of sniffing breaks!) and has shown friendly interest in other dogs in the home and kennel settings. Blackjack may start off a little unsure, but with patience and kindness, he’s already beginning to come out of his shell! This sweet boy is just looking for someone to help him feel safe and loved. Story
Smokey is a almost 1 year old neutered 60 lb mountain curr/plott hound mix. ***Smokey is urgently needing a foster or adopter ASAP*** Things he likes/does well: - fetch (not always sure he's ready for you to throw the ball again) - tug - scent/sniff boxes - delicious food, all the food. - walks - jogs with his man - kissing your face and ears - crate trained at night - polite about taking treats - knows how to sit - learns new commands quickly - very good on leash/walking - takes home security seriously - likes big sticks - very good about trading something he can't have for a tasty treat (when told to "trade") - likes to follow his nose (very much a hound) - likes to look out the window Things he doesn't like/needs to work on: - very concerned about recycling bins on the street - very excitable with children and cats (likes them a lot, but jumps with enthusiasm) - jumps on people when providing food/water excited to see them. He is improving with food/water quickly when told to sit and wait. Smokey is a great dog with a alot of opportunity for the right family/person! Story
Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.happy boy looking for fresh start and love! RANDY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Randy and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (8/23) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)!   Name:  Randy      Best Guess for Breed: Pointer and shepherd mix     Best Guess for Age:   5 years as of July 2026       SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   42 lbs   Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen him with cats  but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!  We do not recommend Randy for a home with children under the age of 12.     Currently Living at:   DC area foster home.  Get to know Randy! Randy is Looking For:  This handsome guy landed in the shelter through no fault of his own. He is eagerly looking ahead to his new one. The one where he gets his own humans for long sniffy walks and romps and all the adventures they can dream up. He's well out of the puppy yips and is in his prime as an adult dog, so he knows what's most important in life: being safe and loved and under his own roof. In exchange, he promises loyal companionship for all his days. What do you say? Can you see him by your side?   What My Foster Says About Me:  Randy, who we sometimes refer to affectionately as “Inspector Randy” is such a goofy and sweet dog! Randy is very self sufficient. His house training and crate training are excellent. He entertains himself by playing with dog toys, sniffing under the couch, or putting himself in his crate to get in some chill time. He does not beg for food or demand attention. Instead, he will gently offer to place his head in your lap for some ear scratches and when he’s gotten his fill, return to sniffing or snoozing. But don’t let his self sufficiency fool you - he does love to snuggle! Randy enjoys his walks (did I mention one of his hobbies is sniffing?) and observing birds. He especially enjoys walks where he gets pets from kind neighbors and strangers. Sometimes the squirrels are tempting, but he’s been learning that their fates shall not intertwine. He is also learning that other dogs are more interested in being friends than being his boss, and has found several dogs to greet around the neighborhood. When he’s settled in and knows he’s safe and loved, he will show you his most joyous zoomies. Overall, he’s a quirky lovable dog who would be a loyal companion.      Heartworm information: Randy is a truly Lucky Dog. He tested positive for heartworms, but has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Randy has completed this activity restriction period   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog   Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
