Story
This girl is absolutely precious! Her temperament is confident but timid right now. She is currently being socialized with two live in labs and is smitten with my 11yr old daughter. She is learning basic commands and focusing on "toy" to keep her teeth busy on appropriate chew toys. Plays hard and snuggles long. Already alerting at the door to go potty at times and uses the pee pads. She's getting potty trained on about a foot of snow covered in a sheet of ice, bless her heart. She would do great with another dog or as a alpha pup. Come see her heart shaped nose in person!!!  Adoption Day: February 14th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Story
Bugs and his brother, Bae, are with the same foster family.  Bugs has enormous paws to feed so good thing he loves eat!  He's so full of gusto that his foster family uses a puzzle dish to slow him down.  He also loves a good nap, far more than Bae.  He's the first to put himself to bed and takes the longest to lure out of his crate after a solid nap.  He likes to cuddle but needs an invitation and sometimes a little help getting comfortable.  He and Bae are enamored with the resident dog.  They are learning to stay away from treats and toys when the resident dog is busy - dancing around and yapping from a safe distance..  When not doing that, they love to run around in the backyard together. His foster family is working on helping him learn to love his crate.  He hasn't mastered it yet but he and Bae sleep it in overnight, so long as the door is ajar.  He is a quick study on peeing outside.  He absolutely knows what he's supposed to do when he goes outside and his foster family mom stands there watching him.  He hasn't gotten the hang of letting his family know when he needs to go out but, absent that, he usually uses a pee pad.  Bugs would do best in an energetic household with firm discipline.  Adoption Day: February 14th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Story
Meet Boy Toy!  Boy Toy is a 10-week-old Mountain Cur puppy (likely a mix) with a heart as big as his paws! He came up from a shelter in Mississippi and is still settling into his new world, but he’s already shown just how sweet and loving he is. This little guy is a certified cuddle bug. His favorite place to be is curled up in your arms, soaking up belly rubs and affection. When he’s not snuggling, he’s busy being a curious, playful puppy who loves to chew and explore everything around him.  Boy Toy has been introduced to both dogs and cats and has done wonderfully with them. He hasn’t had the opportunity to be around children yet, so any introductions should be slow and supervised, as with any puppy. He’s gentle, friendly, and curious, and would likely thrive in a home with other pets. He can be a bit vocal when he’s excited and isn’t shy about showing off his puppy bark. As expected for his age, he’s still working on house training. He’s currently using pee pads and improving each day as he transitions to going outside. Crate training is also a work in progress. He doesn’t love the crate yet and will definitely let you know, but with patience and consistency, he has plenty of potential to improve. Based on his size and those huge paws, we expect Boy Toy to grow into a large dog, so he’ll do best in a home with ample space. Boy Toy is incredibly sweet and full of potential, but he is still very much a puppy. His ideal adopter will be someone patient, committed, and ready to put in the time and training puppies require. In return, they’ll get a loyal and affectionate companion who will grow into an amazing dog. If you’re looking for a loving pup and are ready for the joys (and challenges) of puppyhood, Boy Toy could be the perfect addition to your family!  Adoption Day: February 14th at PetSmart Tysons Corner from 10:00–11:00 AM, an approved adopter must be present to adopt. Some pups may be part of the public event—check our Facebook page closer to the date to see if this pup will be attending the extra fun! ##2639058##

Story
Meet Bubba! Rescued from a high-kill shelter, this is a big, lovable, playful guy who could be the newest companion to your pack!  With soulful eyes and a tail that wags for days, this four-year-old darling is a sweetheart who just wants to find and be with his people.  He is very house-trained, working on being crate-trained (going well), knows his name, “sit" and “down," and is non-destructive when left alone. Bubba is a polite house guest. He doesn’t bark at dogs or people as they walk by, both when he’s in the house or whenever out on walks.  Attentive and affectionate, Bubba is happiest on walks or runs, playing in the yard, chewing on his toys and lounging on the couch with his people. He is a big lap dog who loves to show love and get love in return. Though he is large, he is well-behaved enough for an apartment, as long as he gets enough exercise. But if he had his preference he would love a bit of yard to go along with his walks. (And he is always down for a walk!) He is an active guy who will walk/run/play hard and nap hard. He loves to romp around in the yard, sniff everything, play fetch, and has shown to be interested but not aggressive toward wildlife. He is eager to please, food motivated (good for training) and is a champ in the car. He responds well with firm/calm direction but also handles the noise of (a lot of) kids, play and laughter with ease. Bubba needs a loving household and a person/family who will continue to train him and treat him kindly. Bubba would be happy as your only dog or with another playful dog or dogs. He has socialized well with other medium and large dogs. He shows no food aggression or resource guarding. He would do well with younger and older kids alike. He isn’t totally aware of his size but will remind you of it when he gets excited, pushes into you for attention or play or when he lays on you for cuddles. With his loving and playful heart, Bubba is ready to find a forever family who will love him. Adoption fee: $525, includes all shots, sterilized, heartworm negative, dewormed, flea preventative, microchip   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have.
