Story

IF YOU ARE VIEWING THIS LISTING ON PETFINDER OR ADOPT-A-PET, please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to access adoption requirements, more information and pictures. Meet Amelia! Amelia is about 5 1/2 months old and weighs about 26 lbs. We have no idea on breed mix, but our guess is Hound/Mountain Cur mixed breed - JUST A GUESS. Amelia is a very playful and sweet puppy. She loves playing with dogs and when she’s done, she is happiest curling up in your lap for a nap. She is ready to be your dog’s best friend and your cuddle buddy! Amelia is great with the resident dogs in her foster home. She is a very cuddly girl and thinks she is a lap dog. She loves toys and playing with dogs. Amelia will require another young and playful dog in her forever home. Amelia is doing great with her house training and sleeps in her crate through the night. Because Amelia is a young puppy, the adopter must be home during the day to continue training and socialization and help the puppy grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog. This puppy has age-appropriate vaccines, is microchipped and will need to be spayed/neuter at 6 months of age. The Adoption Fee for this puppy $400.00 ***You must be at least 25 years of age to adopt from CKRescue*** The adoption fee for this dog is $400, which helps with the cost of routine vet care. This fee DOES NOT INCLUDE spay/neuter if the pup is not already spayed/neutered. If the animal you are adopting is not already spayed/neutered, you will be required to sign a contract legally obligating you to have the animal altered. A $100.00 fee will be returned to the adopter once the animal has been sterilized. We will provide information on this process during the approval process. ***Note that puppy adoption fees most often help generate revenue that goes towards older, special needs animals that need our help. Surgeries, heartworm treatment, boarding costs and/or all things that often result in adoptable dogs and cats being left behind to be euthanized. So, adopting a puppy saves not just one life, but many! ***Please note that our first step in approving adoption applicants is to complete a vet check. Vetting of current and past pets is very important to us, thus we will be speaking with the vet(s) listed on your application to ensure that your current and previous pet(s) are kept up to date on vaccines (including rabies), spayed or neutered, maintained on appropriate monthly preventatives and examined annually by your vet.*** Our organization cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. The breed listed is based on any background we may have been provided, and/or the general appearance of the animal. **Please visit www.caninesandkittiesrescue.org to complete our non-binding application.**

Foster Homes Needed! Do you have time and room in your life for a foster dog? http://www.muttloverescue.org/foster.html ***************** Some dogs come to us with very special needs and BamBam is one of those dogs. While he is a playful pup full of energy and affection, he is also extremely fearful of the world. This fear can manifest into making him protective and reactive. As his anxiety traits present a challenge, a quiet, experienced and patient home is required to address his needs. He should also be in a home without children or other pets. Among his many positive qualities, he is quiet, house trained, crate trained, and he will sit nicely and lift his paw for a treat. He is extremely shy when meeting new people but once BamBam feels comfortable, he will be your loyal companion forever! **BECAUSE OF OUR REQUIREMENT FOR A HOME VISIT, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO ADOPT TO HOMES IN THE NORTHERN VA / MARYLAND / DC METRO AREA** We have adoption events EVERY SATURDAY from 12-3 p.m. Please note that not all dogs can attend every event, so if you are interested in meeting a particular dog, please complete a no-obligation application on our website at http://www.muttloverescue.org/application.html OR write to adopt@muttloverescue.org. Spayed or Neutered,

Story

Introducing, Missy! Missy is 8 years old and 65 lbs. This sweet girl was surrendered to a rural animal shelter because her owners had too many dogs. We don't know what Missy's life was like before, but she definitely had many litters of puppies. Missy is currently living her best life in a wonderful foster home. She can be shy at first, but given a few days, her lovely personality will start to show. Missy is housebroken, loves going on a long walk, and bonds deeply with her people. Don't let Missy's age deter you...this girl acts like she's a young pup and has many good years left! We believe Missy will do best in a home with older children and as the only fur-baby. Interested in learning more about Missy? Apply at www.novapetsalive.org/adopt *Missy spayed, up to date on vaccines, was given monthly preventatives, and is microchipped.
