Story

My name is Tucker. I am a big, lovable, and goofy puppy. I love nothing more than to get love and cuddles from my human. I also love to play outside. I am crate trained and almost completely potty trained.I would do well in a home with another dog my size. Because I am a big puppy, I wouldn't be a good fit in a household with small children. Although I love my foster home, I can't wait to find my furever home. I am being fostered in the Huntsville, AL area but am available to the right home via transport. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines, and on heartworm prevention. Apply at https://forrescue.net

Story

Meet Clark! Clark is a fun little guy who’s eager to please and listens well. He likes attention but also his own space at times. Estimated to be about 10 years old, Clark still has playful energy but also likes to nap and relax. He takes a little bit to warm up to someone, but once he does, he will love you forever. He loves walks and loves to sunbathe. His favorite hobby is lounging outside on the deck. He's very food motivated, but can you blame him? He is kennel trained and thrives with a safe, quiet space to call his own. Clark would prefer slow introductions to new people and new dogs. He previously lived with no other dogs but since being in foster care has lived with several different dogs . He likes having dog companions to play with and generally does well but occasionally has gotten overly excited and benefited from redirection. He has some herding instincts that we have been working on. Clark could live as an only dog, with passive smaller dogs, but might do better with a dog his size or bigger. We recommend no kids under the age of 12. Clark lived in a stable home throughout his entire life, until recently when his owner unfortunately passed away. He was adopted as a puppy and is estimated to be a Mountain Cur Mix around 10 years old. This handsome gentleman would make a great companion!Dogs adopted from Second Chance Animals of Greater Milwaukee are: vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

Story

Meet Chad, a fun-loving, medium-sized Mountain Cur mix with long legs and a goofy personality! Chad loves running around, playing, and going for walks. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard and an active canine playmate. Chad tends to prefer women and does best with someone who is consistent, firm, and patient. He takes a little time to warm up, but once he feels comfortable, his snuggly side starts to come out. He generally does best with female dogs, although he can also be a good match with the right male dog. He isn't dominant and naturally adjusts to the energy of the dogs around him, which helps him fit nicely into a home with other dogs. Despite his playful side, Chad is a pretty quiet guy who rarely barks, whether he's hanging out in the house or relaxing in his crate. He does best in a calmer environment and has great house manners. He sticks to chewing his own toys and is fully potty trained and crate trained. Chad is almost 2 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and receives monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He is not a match for a home with children under 13. Chad will do best with an adopter who understands and respects his boundaries while also giving him the activity, consistency, and patience he needs. In the right home, this goofy, playful guy will make a wonderful companion. Spayed or Neutered,

Story

JADE IS A QUIRKY, SENSITIVE SOUL SEEKING A KIND, SOFTSPOKEN HOME💕 She is almost 1 year old and weighs 30+ pounds. She is playful and loves to snuggle. Jade is very energetic, but also loves quiet time in the evenings and puts herself to bed at night. Jade is crate trained and knows basic commands. She needs a fenced in back yard with space to run and play fetch. Jade's new family should be confident dog owners prepared to work on a training plan. 💚 She is smart, trainable and eager to please. Jade is sensitive to correction and needs gentle guidance, a calm voice and good boundaries. She is a jumping bean who is working on excitability and manners; she is best matched in an aged 13+ home. Jade experiences occasional urinary accidents when she is overstimulated or nervous. Her foster family says this is manageable behavior and they will share tips with adopter. We are hopeful that she will outgrow this behavior since she is still very young, but she still needs a family that is committed to loving all of her quirks. Jade lives with lots of dogs in her foster home. She would do fine as an only pet for an active family, or paired with a submissive playful dog that lets her take the lead. She can be bossy with other dogs, but she loves to play and gets along with many personalities with proper introductions. Jade also lives with dog-savvy cats, but she needs regular reminders not to pester them. Jade is spayed, up o date on vaccines, and on monthly preventatives. Chico

Mountain Cur Mixed Breed (Large)

Male, 2 yrs 2 mos

Northbrook, IL

Size

(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Details

Good with dogs, Spayed or Neutered,

Story

Chico is a sweet, sensitive boy who has already come so far! When he first arrived at the shelter as an owner surrender, he was extremely frightened and had never even been walked on a leash. With patience and kindness, Chico proved himself to be an incredibly fast and willing learner—within just one day, he began accepting the leash and going for walks! Chico can be shy when he first meets someone and may cower when he’s unsure, but once he realizes you’re safe and kind, he absolutely blossoms. ❤️ He becomes affectionate, enthusiastic, and so excited to be your friend. 🐶 He’s also very dog friendly! Chico thrived in foster care with three other dogs of different sizes—a large male, medium female, and small female—and has done wonderfully around other dogs. His foster has been showing him how much fun life can be! Chico has gone to the beach, walked around town, and even attended Bingo at a local establishment. He’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all, and now he’s ready for a patient, loving family to continue showing him just how good life can be. 💙

Story

🐾 Meet Atlas – Our Longest-Waiting Adventurer 🐾 Atlas is a 4-year-old Catahoula mix who has been in the rescue program for almost 4 years, and we truly don’t understand how this incredible dog is still waiting for his forever home. Atlas is great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He is cat-friendly, but he can be a bit much for them since he always wants to play—so he’d do best in a cat-free home or one with a very tolerant, confident cat. This guy is active, athletic, and always ready for an adventure. Walks, outings, and staying busy are his jam, so he’ll need an active family who can keep up with his enthusiasm for life. Atlas does have some separation anxiety, but it is very manageable and continues to improve with routine and structure. And here’s the really cool part—Atlas has competed in THREE OneWorld Canine Biathlons and absolutely crushed it, even placing 2nd in one of his races! 🏅 This dog has both brains and brawn. 📍 Fostered in Huntsville, AL 🐶 Good with dogs 🐱 Cats with conditions 🏃 Adventure-ready & athletic Atlas has waited long enough. He’s loyal, driven, and ready to be someone’s best adventure buddy. If you’re looking for a dog who will truly be your partner in life, Atlas is your guy. 👉 Apply to adopt at www.forrescue.net Rescue: Friends of Rescue 💙
