Now that he has finished his treatment, Alfie is ready to head north and begin the life he has always deserved. We do not know what happened to him before he was rescued, but he does have an old injury to his right eye and the side of his head. It does not seem to bother him at all, and he remains an A+ good boy through and through. Alfie is gentle, sweet, affectionate, and easygoing. Shawn was adopted this past summer, but was recently returned due to his owners going through a divorce and being unable to keep him in their new living situation. Through no fault of his own, he is once again looking for a loving home. Now about 6 months old, Shawn is a super cute, happy, and friendly Mountain Cur mix who gets along with everyone he meets. He’s social, affectionate, and loves being part of the action — whether that’s playing with toys, exploring his surroundings, or soaking up attention from his people. He has an easygoing, joyful personality and brings plenty of tail wags and smiles wherever he goes. Shawn has already experienced life in a home and understands the basics of being a family dog, but like any young dog, he will benefit from continued training and consistency. He’s eager to learn and would thrive with a family willing to help him continue growing into a well-mannered companion. Story
If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Atlas is the guy for you. His unique looks and amazingly sweet and inquisitive personality are products of his rich breed mixture. Atlas (also known as "Mr. Steal Your Heart and Pillow") enjoys long walks, short car rides, exploring, cooling off in creeks, lounging around the house, playing tug, unstuffing plush toys, wrestling and playing the bitey face game with his doggy sibling, cuddling in bed, and anything else that allows him to spend time with his family. At almost 3 years old, he has outgrown most undesirable puppy behaviors, but is still an active boy who requires adequate exercise. He does well with children and other dogs. He has done well with cats! He likes to lead walks and can be overly eager to meet new dog friends, so some training in those areas is recommended. He also gets overwhelmed in busy settings and sometimes experiences stranger danger so it is advised to avoid crowded settings unless addressed by a trainer. He is overnight crate trained, but he becomes anxious when left in the crate for extended periods of time during the day so his ideal home would have a pet parent who is home for the greater part of the day. Atlas is learning how to pull carts. He is a very smart dog and seeks to please his owners. Atlas is house/potty trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. If you would like to meet this handsome guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/
