My brother-in-law unexpectedly passed away. I am trying to find a home for Buddy (8), and his sister Bailey (7), both Canucu dogs from Aruba. He was my brother-in-laws dog, he barks a lot when someone enters the home and seems scared and protective. He does not seem to like anyone in the home, but is fine at the vets for example. He needs someone experienced to work with him as his socialization was very limited post Covid. Prior to this he was socialized visited and played with often by many different people. He is loving to his immediate family members (who due to health, mobility, and age related issues can’t keep him in the home). I think he could be a good dog with some love and care. I have two dogs, a cat, two young kids, and elderly parents living with me so I unfortunately can’t keep him.

Kona is a protective dog. He likes his pack. If you want a protective dog and he considers you his new pack, he may be a good fit for you. Apparently with training, he can be better behaved with house guests. If you have the time for training, he could be a good fit for you. He likes toys and attention. He likes to play fetch and chase squirrels in the yard. Needs leash training. He doesn't love baths. He is crate trained and house trained. Food motivated. Use caution around him until a sense of pack has been established. He has not lived with other dogs or cats. Has lived with kids but would exercise extreme caution.

Large, 40 LBS, striking dog, grey coat, mixed - she is wonderful, but moderately high energy & smart (2 years~). Likely a better fit for a home with a yard and/or a moderately physically active household, read: will give her an outlet for her energy, she loves to run with other dogs, be with her people, and enrichment activities. Interested in placing her in a home with someone who understands dog behavior. She is shy and slow to warm. Off-leash: She is friendly with other dogs her size or smaller who are mellow, playful. Once she she warms up, she will run and play with other dogs. On-leash: She is skittish and has made a lot of progress, but a potential adopter needs to be aware that she has anxiety on the leash that is very different from her behavior off leash. For example, I will cross the street with her when I see a dog or person approaching us.note: She has gone through a couple obedience classes and is highly trainable, she knows recall, basic commands, sit/down

Rip is a truly loving, silly, food-motivated boy who has so many wonderful qualities. He absolutely LOVES treats, bananas, peanut butter, ice cubes, getting cozy, and soaking up the sunshine. He is a big cuddle bug once he trusts you and really just wants to be loved and feel safe.That being said, Rip is very temperamental and can be anxious/fearful around certain situations, particularly unfamiliar people entering the home. Because of this, we are looking for a very specific home where he can thrive. We believe he would do best with someone who:🐶 Has experience owning dogs, especially dogs with behavioral or anxiety needs🏡 Does not have young children🌳 Has a securely fenced-in yard OR is able to provide him with walks and exercise❤️ Is patient, understanding and willing to build trust 🦴 someone who can offer positive reinforcement and stabilityRip needs to be muzzled at the vet and groomerHe eats purina pro plan salmon He will be 3 in December 2026

Story
Coco was a 6 month old when we rescued her from the Louisianna in Nov 2017. She's a wonderfully chill and easy going dog to have. She's intelligent and schmoochie, very low maintenance and very easy going, especially around people. She loves looking for squirrels and loves sunbathing and snuggling under blankets in bed with her owners. I'm looking for a home where she can be loved and fussed, walked regularly and really appreciated. She's in superb health with a totally clean bill of health as of just a few weeks ago. She's been very caringly looked after, including monthly Heartgard and NexGard, annual check-ups and shots.
