He’s very anxious and easily startled, but friendly once he feels safe.Not fully housebroken and will need consistent training and patience.Best suited for a home where he can be the main focus—he needs someone with a lot of time and attention to give, and experience with dogs is strongly preferred.We are rehoming him because, with a small child and a busy household, we don’t have the time and consistency he needs for proper training and attention. He would do best in a home where someone can dedicate more one-on-one time to helping him build confidence and succeed.

Ash is 8 years old but has the personality of a puppy. He is playful and very goofy. He has a silly personality that brings a lot of joy and laughter into the home. He is a very affectionate dog who loves being pet and receiving attention, though he can be shy when meeting new people at first. Once he feels comfortable, his loving, playful, and goofy nature really shines through. He forms strong bonds with the people he trusts and thrives on companionship. He is an anxious dog and does not do well around other dogs. He is not dog-friendly and will bark at them, so he would do best as the only pet in a calm, stable home where he can feel safe and secure. An experienced, patient owner who understands anxious dogs would be ideal for him. He also does not do well being left alone for long periods of time and struggles if left home alone for more than about 8 hours. He would do best with someone who has a flexible schedule, works from home, or can provide regular companionship and routine.
