Story
Stella is a wonderful dog who simply needs a home that is a better fit for her needs. We believe she would do best as the only dog in the household, possibly with a single person or a family where she can receive all of the attention she craves. She is incredibly affectionate, loves to cuddle, and is a true lap dog. Stella enjoys being close to her people and thrives on companionship. She is also a good watchdog and will bark to alert you when someone is outside. Stella is very cute, loving, and has many great qualities. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, she has not adjusted well to living with our younger dog, Cooper, and the situation has become increasingly difficult for both dogs. We feel that finding Stella a home where she can be the only pet will give her the best opportunity to succeed and be happy. This is a very difficult decision because Stella is a good dog who deserves a loving home. We are hoping to find the right person who can give her the attention she deserves

Story
Meet Little Dude 😍 He is an adorable little guy with the irresistible floppy front ears! At around 11 weeks old, he’s already winning hearts everywhere he goes. Rescued alongside his three siblings from Texas, this sweet pup is now looking for a loving forever home of his own. We aren’t sure what his breed mix is, but we estimate he’ll be around 30 pounds full grown, give or take. He’s friendly, outgoing, and loves making new friends — both human and canine. He does great with other dogs and would likely want to play with cats too, though he hasn’t officially met any yet. Like any young puppy, he’s still learning the ropes of being a well-mannered house dog. He’s currently working on housebreaking and crate training and will need a patient family committed to continuing his training and socialization as he grows. If you’re looking for a happy, playful puppy with a big personality and even bigger ears, this little guy may be your perfect match! Apply via www.nyshar.org/applications and once approved we can arrange a meet & greet

Hallow is an adorable 12 week old mixed breed puppy weighing 11.2 lbs, and she’s expected to be around 40 lbs full grown. This happy, outgoing girl is great with dogs of all sizes and loves every person she meets! Hallow sleeps quietly through the night in her crate and already knows the command “sit.” She’s currently working on potty training and is doing very well with leash walking. When she’s not learning new things, Hallow loves playing with her toys and dog friends, running around the backyard, and cuddling up with her humans. Sweet, smart, playful, and full of personality, Hallow is sure to bring so much love and happiness to her future family! Story
Maia is a beautiful, affectionate 5-year-old mixed breed (likely Collie/Australian Shepherd mix) we have loved since adopting her as a puppy. She is loyal, intelligent, and deeply bonded to her people, and thrives with attention, routine, and companionship. As our family has grown and our home has become busy with young children and frequent visitors, we’ve realized this environment is not the right fit for Maia. She becomes very excitable around guests and struggles to settle, and she is not comfortable in a high-energy, child-focused household. We believe Maia would be happiest in a calm, adult-only home with experienced dog owners who can give her consistent structure and time. She is healthy, well cared for, and this difficult decision has been made entirely with her wellbeing in mind. We are committed to finding her a loving, lasting home and supporting a smooth transition.

Story
Ash is 8 years old but has the personality of a puppy. He is playful and very goofy. He has a silly personality that brings a lot of joy and laughter into the home. He is a very affectionate dog who loves being pet and receiving attention, though he can be shy when meeting new people at first. Once he feels comfortable, his loving, playful, and goofy nature really shines through. He forms strong bonds with the people he trusts and thrives on companionship. He is an anxious dog and does not do well around other dogs. He is not dog-friendly and will bark at them, so he would do best as the only pet in a calm, stable home where he can feel safe and secure. An experienced, patient owner who understands anxious dogs would be ideal for him. He also does not do well being left alone for long periods of time and struggles if left home alone for more than about 8 hours. He would do best with someone who has a flexible schedule, works from home, or can provide regular companionship and routine.
