Story
Hello! My name is Jake, and I recently completed an epic summer road trip with over 80 of my fellow adoptable dogs all the way from Alabama to Minnesota. We're all so happy to be here, and I have to say—it may be an unpopular opinion, but I can't wait for winter! I've never seen or played in snow, but my 85-pound fluffy body was made for cold weather fun.Right now, I'm living with my foster mom, dad and their two resident pups. I'm settling in great but still working on my intros. I have a big bark but it’s really just the Great Pyrenees in me. Speaking of Great Pyrenees traits, my foster mom says I am great on a leash, but I can be kinda stubborn. I don’t know why she is always in such a hurry on our walks?! I like to stroll at my own pace, smell some flowers, stop for a break, lay down on the road…I have all day. I think I would really like a fenced in yard though. Walks are fine but I am more the porch sitting type. I have a big goofy side that comes out more each day too.I ride well in a car but might take me a few minutes to get in. Again – why are you humans always in such a hurry?! I operate on Jake time.Come visit me at an event or fill out an application for your own personal meet and greet with yours truly, Jake! Jake is heartworm positive and is awaiting a negative test result. His treatment has been completed but he is not due for his retest yet. He will need a microfilaria test one month after treatment. Once he has a negative microfilaria test, he will not need to be on exercise restrictions. All medical needs will be the responsibility of the adoptive family.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions.
