Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Ninja! Ninja is a 1.5-year-old, 75 lb Newfoundland/Border Collie mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. This big, fluffy boy is equal parts lovable goofball and loyal companion, with a personality that’s guaranteed to make you smile—especially when he’s walking around with his tongue hanging out and his trademark goofy grin! Ninja is sweet, affectionate, and forms strong bonds with his people. He enjoys spending time with his people and underneath all that fluff is a sensitive, intelligent dog who is still learning about the world and looking for someone willing to help guide him. As you might expect from a dog of his size, Ninja is strong and will need an adopter who can comfortably handle a large dog. He would benefit from continued training and basic obedience work to help him build confidence and develop good manners. He’s eager to connect with his people and will thrive with consistent structure and guidance. Ninja can do well with other dogs but prefers slower introductions and generally gets along best with calmer, more laid-back canine companions. He’s still figuring out how to play appropriately and can become vocal, growly, or reactive on leash when he gets overstimulated or excited. Because of this, we’re looking for a confident, experienced handler who can help him continue building social skills and navigate the world successfully. He could potentially live with another well-matched dog, but he could also thrive as an only dog provided he receives continued socialization and plenty of engagement with his people. Due to his size, energy, and training needs, Ninja is looking for a standalone home with a securely fenced yard. Apartments and condos are not a good fit for him. He would likely be happiest in a quieter area outside the hustle and bustle of busy city life where he can relax, decompress, and enjoy a little more space. As a long-coated breed mix, Ninja will also need a family committed to keeping up with regular grooming and coat maintenance to keep him looking and feeling his best. If you’re looking for a big-hearted, fluffy best friend with a goofy personality and lots of potential, Ninja might just be your perfect match! Ninja is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Meet Koda! He is one of our long-timers and has been waiting with us for 3 years for his forever family! ❤️ He is a very smart, goofy and athletic 70lb, ~4 year-old pup with lots of playful energy. He loves to play fetch so he definitely is a Retriever mix - he looks like a large, black golden Retriever mix - but also has strong guard-dog characteristics and is part Newfoundland. He's not a herder or chaser - he does not seem interested in running off, or chasing bunnies, squirrels or bikes, though cats are afraid of him (and probably should be). He knows basic commands (sit, down, wait, stay, leave it, come, play, ball, food, etc) and learns new things incredibly fast. He loves playing with dogs, but plays quite physically vs chasing them. Koda is happiest when playing ball or when in close proximity of his one 'person'. He's loving and affectionate with 'his person' but being part of a busy family where people are coming and going is challenging for him. He will do best with a single, experienced dog owner, who has the physical space (aka yard/rural vs a townhome in a city), time, patience and energy to work with him. Koda will benefit from structure, stability and exercise - He loves to play and learns very fast. Koda is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.

Health Condition Spayed. Microchipped, and heartworm negative2.) Rescue Story Yeoreum had spent a long time in a raised wire cage at a dog meat farm and was on the brink of slaughter when Adogs arrived. Fortunately, she was rescued just in time.3.) Basic Information With People: Takes her time adjusting to new environments and is slowly opening her heart. Shows curiosity toward strangers by sniffing them and wiggles her tail happily when she sees familiar faces. While she may try to retreat when startled by touch, she calmly accepts it once it happens. During walks, she comfortably enjoys petting from people she trusts. With Dogs: Generally plays well with other dogs, but will growl or show her teeth if another dog is too pushy or if she wants to rest alone. Caution is needed as she may snap at other dogs in these situations. With Cats: Does not react to cats during walks and remains calmly focused on her handler. Separation Anxiety: Since she is currently living in a group at our center, this is unknown. Potty Training: Currently relieves herself outdoors at our center. Re-training may be necessary in a new environment. Hygiene: Might try to dodge the brush initially inside her kennel, but soon settles down. In open play areas, she tends to run away from grooming. However, she is very well-behaved during baths. Walks: May try to avoid the leash in the playground, but waits calmly in her kennel and walks very well once outside! Car Sickness: No motion sickness observed during short trips (e.g., to the vet). Long-distance travel experience is limited and would need monitoring. May growl when other dogs are too assertive or when she wants to be left alone, so supervision is required. Has a great appetite and loves food! Also enjoys resting peacefully indoors by herself. Thanks to extensive kennel training, she can handle long periods in a crate, making her a great candidate for flight travel. May get startled and run away if a person approaches too suddenly, but she stays calm once they begin petting her. * Is a calm girl with a moderate energy level. While she is a bit shy around humans, she is a bright and lovely dog who truly enjoys her walks and treats.
