Story
Welcome Athena to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 2-year Great Pyrenees. She weighs about 90 pounds. She has a beautiful coat and the typical extra back toes commonly found in this breed. This is a guardian breed dog. They naturally will protect their flock or family. This breed will do best in a fully fenced yard as they will roam away if there is no fence. She is good with other dogs and will need some more leash work. She would be great with someone that knows the breed and loves it. She should have the natural tendencies of this breed. She had puppies and we adopted them out. We also adopted out the larger male that was found with her as a stray. She would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccines, healthy, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is currently in Texas anc can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is 300 and transport is 200. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpal.info/ See her cute video!!

Story
We agreed to foster Tutu (who is now 3) for my coworkers friend who was diagnosed with cancer and also had a 1 year old child, so understandably she felt she couldnt care for Tutu. She unfortunately had to leave the country for better treatment so Tutu now needs a permanent home. Tutu is a honestly a very sweet dog. If she was an only pet she would be perfect. Once you give her food she doesn’t like it if you try and take it away but usually that’s not a problem because it’s gone in the blink of an eye. Otherwise shes a little cuddle bug and is extremely well behaved. Doesnt chew on things, isnt neurotic, she just chills around the house. She does enjoy a good walk and absolutely loves to play fetch. Great around kids and people. The main issue is that we werent ready to take on another dog full time but if she was our only pet we would be happy to keep her.

Story
Introducing our lovable furry friend! This charming pup is a people-person through and through—ready to soak up all the pets and attention from anyone, including strangers! However, when it comes to little ones, sudden movements and loud noises can startle him a bit. If children are calm and gentle, he's happy to hang out. Although he's not a fan of being carried or lifted up, he's a big fan of canine companions, especially smaller or similar-sized dogs. He's a true protector, but only when needed—stepping up if other dogs are too rowdy or aggressive. Birds? Squirrels? They definitely catch his eye during walks, but with a bit of leash training, he's working on his focus. In terms of energy, he's got the perfect balance—loving outdoor adventures but a total zen master indoors. While he might tug a little on walks, once he settles, he's an excellent leash follower. Busy streets can be overwhelming, so quieter spots are more his style. No guarding resources from people, but he might issue a gentle growl if other dogs get too close. When it's time to travel, he prefers a cozy crate in the car—helping ease those nerves and avoiding any car sickness. One thing's for sure—he's a potty pro outdoors only! Basic commands like sit, stay, paw, and eye contact? Nailed it! And did we mention he's a sucker for ice cubes? If you're ready to welcome this gentle giant into your heart and home, reach out to our team today to make him a part of your family! Story
Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes in WA state, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal because of the percentage they take & their fees but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. Another very sad story. We got a call regarding a dog who needed help & they wanted to surrender this boy Rambo due to nothing he did wrong. As it happens the lady was calling because her nephew had bought this boy as a tiny puppy from someone here in WA state in Olympia & he had siblings too. We don’t know what come of the siblings. He had abandoned this innocent boy with his aunt & wasn’t coming back for him & let her know that. We organized for Rambo to be surrendered to the rescue & it was very clear that Rambo had been extremely well taken care of by the aunt but, she had not signed up for a dog let alone a Great Pyrenees puppy & had a very busy job & he was being left alone all the time. Let’s face it, this boy was no longer the tiny puppy, but he had turned into a massive beautiful boy at 7 months of age & was still growing. Rambo is a major sweetheart, this boy is nothing but love & wants to be with people & loves their companionship. We have also discovered he likes dogs company & enjoys going on walks & is a good walker. He is very affectionate to & is very loyal to his people. He actually cried when the aunt left him & we ended up crying with his broken heart. Rambo is such a great eater & is not shy about eating & has not been since the day we got him & he has put on more weight in the rescue. He does know how to walk on his harness & leash & has been taught to walk on a slip lead. Rambo rides in the car well & considering the only times we know of was when he was surrendered to us & going to & from the vets. We are looking for a crate free home for this little lad only. We are looking for a crate free home for this boy, there is no need for him to spend his time in a crate. We are also looking for a forever home for Rambo where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. When they find someone who treats them as they should be treated & loves them they get so attached to them. Rambo is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him & never give up on him. Rambo has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes. Rambo could be an only dog but does well with other dogs & enjoys their company. A fully fenced yard is mandatory for his new forever home. Rambo is roughly 55.8 lbs & he is ‭7 months old & a Great Pyrenees‬. What he is mixed with we are not sure, male, he is neutered by laser by our wonderful vets, he is microchipped, received all of his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. Rambo has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together & we have had her around small children & he has done amazing but we do do not recommend small children nor cats though & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when Rambo was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Rambo’s friends & siblings he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Rambo potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Rambo & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on. Or you waste this rescues time, will remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit via WebEx or Zoom due to covid & followed by a meet & greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Rambo who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for the special sweet little chap. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Rambo has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Meet Yeti! He’s a big lovable teddy bear who was left to fend for himself by his previous owners when they moved. He LOVES to play in water. He’s very treat motivated and eager to please. He’s pretty docile with other dogs. Yeti has a bad ear infection he’s seeing the vet for, so we’re sure he’ll be more excited about pets once that’s better. Yeti is a big Great Pyrenees mix weighing about 70 pounds at 6 years old.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.July 14, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Tessa is approximately 2 years old, 49 lb spayed female super blend of Shepherd, Husky, and a handful of other breeds. She joined us along with her three siblings on 1/13/23 from Texas. She is dog friendly and great with people. Ideally, we would like to see her go to a home with a securely fenced yard and a fellow canine companion. Foster Update: If you are looking for a gentle, goofy, happy and super sweet girl, Tessa could be the one for you!  She is really a special girl with so much love to give.  Tessa takes a little time to warm up to meeting new people but once shes does she becomes your biggest fan! She loves to smile, snuggle, play and knows all the best looks to completely win you over! Her eye contact game is on point! Tessa hasn’t met a dog she didn’t like and immediately cozy up to and ask to play. Rain or shine, Tessa absolutely loves being outside in the yard and romping, running and tossing toys around, or just as content lying in the grass watching the birds and soaking up the sun. Tessa loves going on truck rides and exploring things with her foster family. She does really well when left alone at home with her foster sister, but does not like to be solo. The idea family for Tessa is one with with previous dog experience or with another playful well-adjusted dog to help her become comfortable in her new home and live her best life. She has learned sit, wait, drop it, get a toy, down, and her recall is pretty great as long as there are no squirrels in sight! She’s made a lot of progress with her confidence and has pretty great leash manners.  Tessa completed a four-week board and train with K9 Command and she made really great progress with leash confidence and commands. We have no doubt she is capable of learning so much more with the right person providing structure, love, support and consistency. When adopted, Tessa will get an in person training session and lifetime trainer support provided by K9 Command to help get her off to a great start with her new family! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was transferred from our rescue partner in Texas and arrived in Seattle area foster care on 1/13/23.July 15, 2024, 6:28 pm
