Story
Animal Profile: Jelly Bean is a purebred Great Pyrenees puppies of an accidental litter on a farm in Eatonville; they'll be joining Dog Gone Seattle to find forever homes and mom is being spayed. This family has lovingly raised these puppies in a home environment and are wanting to ensure their careful placement. Mom is a working dog and dad is a family pet. We will share more info as we get to know them in foster care. NOTE: Potential adopters (including fosters) will need to meet breed appropriate requirements - single family residence with suitable outdoor space/fencing required and LSGD breed experience preferred. Foster Update: Jelly Bean (or JB, as we call him) is a sweet, wiggly Great Pyrenees puppy who’s already overcome a big hurdle in his short life. He was born with Swimmer Syndrome, a condition where the muscles and tendons don’t develop propery, and his legs were splayed out instead of under him. Thanks to early intervention, JB learned how to walk he gets around just fine, with a little signature wiggle in his step. It’s part of his charm. JB loves wrestling with his dog buddies, following the kids around the house, and taking his backyard patrol duties very seriously. He’s either napping in the living room or out in the yard with a stick, keeping an eye on everything and taking in all the smells. He walks on leash (sometimes reluctantly, but he’ll do it) and can go up and down stairs with a little encouragement — which is good for keeping his body strong. Though he can walk across them, floors like hardwood or linoleum aren’t ideal for him because he can’t get traction to stand if he lays down or slips. So a home with some carpet or rugs would be a better fit or a family willing to lay out yoga mats or runners would be great too! Jelly Bean doesn’t know he’s different, and he’s not letting anything slow him down. He’s just looking for a family who will cheer him on and maybe toss him a stick or two along the way. We love him very much and are happy to have him here while he waits for his perfect family. Adoption Info: The Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter on contract, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration.
