Story
Meet Eer! She is the sweetest most adorable girll! She is a 5-6 year old that was rescued from a breeding farm before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horrific puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Eer and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app July 25, 2024, 5:02 pm

Story
Breed: Papillon mix Age: 10 yrs. Weight: 8.8 lbs. Good with dogs: yes Good with cats: unsure Good with kids: no young kids Energy level: unsure Good with men/strangers: yes Hypoallergenic: no Special home requirements or medical: meds required Additional info: Rui is a sweet Papillon Mix who will stay loyal and loving once he opens up his heart. He is very fearful of strangers at first and may need around a week or two to settle into a quiet and relaxed environment so he can become comfortable enough for pets. Once he trusts you, he is the sweetest lovebug who loves nothing other than following you around the house, asking for pets, and going on short walks! He loves short walks outside and is so patient when giving baths. He used to have seizures after stressful events (loud/busy environments/overstimulation), but they have significantly reduced, and he hasn't had one in a few months! To be proactive, he gets a couple drops of CBD oil before any stressful situation. He has sensitive skin, and so he is on a fish-only diet with kibble (no chicken). His teeth require care, so brushing is important. He is dog-friendly and a curious boy once he comes out of his shell. He doesn't like to be held until he fully trusts you and is wary of elevators/hardwood floors. Once he opens up, he is the sweetest boy who will be a perfect companion that will love you until the end of time. He's also adorably silly and loves cuddles and being pet so much, he will give you his paw to show he wants more cuddles. He's fiercely loyal and loves going on walks. He needs a little time to settle in and then he will be your best friend! Story
Located in Lancaster text or email for direct contact with Rescuer Approved for same-day adoption memeco635@gmail.com (661)609-2186 Hello, my name is Ruka I was a puppy on death row at a high kill humane society in Northern California. Without even giving me a chance they labeled me rescue only and kept me hidden from the public. When I came back positive for gerardia, instead of treating me, they decided they were gonna keep me in the back until I was ready to be euthanized. I was alone with other petrified dogs just waiting to go through a door and never come back out, I could smell death on the other side of the doors and I couldn’t understand anything that was happening, except 1 by 1 I’d see someone come take a dog and I’d never see them again, but thankfully, my rescuer stepped in and took me after seeing how absolutely defeated I was in that kennel waiting for my inevitable end. After arriving at the rescue, I didn’t understand that I was safe. I felt safer at the rescue but the trauma I experienced at the shelter has left a very deep emotional scar and as young as I am I still need time to trust people and to know that I will be safe with them. I desire love and affection I just get really scared thinking that I’ll end up back at the shelter so I would thrive better and open up quicker in a more calm environment with someone who can be patient with me, someone Who understands the psychological trauma I have suffered and is willing to give me the time I need to decompress and open up🥺 if you think that sounds like you or your family, please reach out to my rescuer (Her information is listed directly above my story) and schedule a time to meet with me. I am approved for same day adoption so if you fall in love with me after meeting me, I can go home with you. I promise if you give me a little time, you’ll see exactly what a sweet companion I can be. ❤️
