Story
Meet Meonji! She is the sweetest most adorable girll! She is a 1 year old that was rescued from a breeding farm before heading to a dog meat farm in South Korea.  We have partners we work with there that pull these dogs from the worst horrors imaginable.  Many of these dogs start off in horrific puppy mill type facilities on tiny rabbit cage size wire crates in complete filth.  If they are not sold at 6 or 8 weeks then they either stay for a couple years to be used to breed more and then are sold off to the meat trade, or they are sold off right away.  Jindo's and Tosa's are the most common meat type dogs, and are very commonly bred specifically for their meat and the meat farms also act as breeding farms until they reach a good age and weight. South Korea is one of the only countries that actually farms dogs for their meat.   Many restaurants will serve a dish called " bosintang ", which stands for "dog meat soup". It's a popular dish in South  Korea,  and is said to act as an aphrodisiac for men.    Little dogs are used for elixirs and potions.  The younger generation is mostly against this practice and many choose to not eat them, and we can only hope in time with education and generations of change that an end will come to this horrific trade.  Meonji and some of her family and friends have been flown here for a chance at a future and a real life.  These are miracle dogs that they are alive today.  Our adoption fee is $600 which helps offset some of the flight costs.  If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application form at  https://form.jotform.com/oscarlucy/dog-adoption-app June 20, 2024, 4:10 pm

Story
Breed: Papillon / Chihuahua mix Age: 4 yrs. Weight: 10 lbs. Good with dogs: no Good with cats: unsure Good with kids: no Energy level: unsure Good with men/strangers: yes Hypoallergenic: no Special home requirements or medical: best as the only dog in an adult only home Additional info: Poor Molly was dumped at the shelter with matted fur and a broken heart. Her spirit was so low, we simply had to help her. She has blossomed in foster care and learned to trust and be affectionate with her human. She is fully pee pad trained and will walk on a leash but does cower at loud sounds outside. She does not do well with strangers so would do best as the only dog in an adult only, calm household. Once you have her trust, the cuddles and snuggles are unending and she is so joyous and adorable...we know someone will fall in love! Story
Located in Lancaster text or email for direct contact with Rescuer Approved for same-day adoption memeco635@gmail.com (661)609-2186 Hello, my name is Ruka I was a puppy on death row at a high kill humane society in Northern California. Without even giving me a chance they labeled me rescue only and kept me hidden from the public. When I came back positive for gerardia, instead of treating me, they decided they were gonna keep me in the back until I was ready to be euthanized. I was alone with other petrified dogs just waiting to go through a door and never come back out, I could smell death on the other side of the doors and I couldn’t understand anything that was happening, except 1 by 1 I’d see someone come take a dog and I’d never see them again, but thankfully, my rescuer stepped in and took me after seeing how absolutely defeated I was in that kennel waiting for my inevitable end. After arriving at the rescue, I didn’t understand that I was safe. I felt safer at the rescue but the trauma I experienced at the shelter has left a very deep emotional scar and as young as I am I still need time to trust people and to know that I will be safe with them. I desire love and affection I just get really scared thinking that I’ll end up back at the shelter so I would thrive better and open up quicker in a more calm environment with someone who can be patient with me, someone Who understands the psychological trauma I have suffered and is willing to give me the time I need to decompress and open up🥺 if you think that sounds like you or your family, please reach out to my rescuer (Her information is listed directly above my story) and schedule a time to meet with me. I am approved for same day adoption so if you fall in love with me after meeting me, I can go home with you. I promise if you give me a little time, you’ll see exactly what a sweet companion I can be. ❤️
