I was declawed on all four paws in my first home, and because of that I have some arthritis. I do best in a calm, comfortable environment where I can relax and be pampered. In my most recent home, I was the beloved princess of the house until my owner sadly passed away in his sleep. Now I'm hoping to find another forever family to love. I'm a true lap cat who loves nothing more than snuggling with my person. I absolutely adore being brushed—it's one of my favorite ways to spend time with you! Hi! I’m MASON (DOB: ~01/18/2019), a male purebred Shaded Silver Persian. I was surrendered to a local animal control with several of my siblings when my owner could no longer care for me. I lacked full socialization at the time I made my way to FFRS, but now I am a good boy - making a 180° turn-around since my intake, allow petting, and I would love a calm home with someone who is patient with me. I am not shy or aggressive – I just don’t yet fully understand this whole affection thing. Sometimes I like it a lot. My main motivation is treats that make me very happy. I forget my lack of socialization skills when someone plays with me. I can be petted, but I prefer it just be my head and shoulders and I absolutely LUV my neck massages and will reach out asking for one! I will let you know when I’ve had enough petting by backing away. I have have started purring when I'm petted. I don’t seem to mind other cats as long as they are nice to me but have not met any dogs. He is a sweet, docile, and shy cat who does well in a calm environment.Unfortunately, my schedule no longer allows me to give him the time, attention, and consistency he deserves. He is up to date on vaccinations and was recently seen by a veterinarian about two months ago. He is healthy overall.One thing potential adopters should know is that he has an ongoing issue with urinating outside the litter box. He has been medically evaluated, and no health concerns were found. It appears to be behavioral, and I do not currently have the time needed to work through the issue with him.I am looking for a patient, experienced owner who can provide him with the attention and environment he needs to thrive.
