Story
Lili is a darling young black and white Persian female cat. She was rescued from the streets left to fend for herself. Suffered trauma to her back legs causing her to stumble on occasions. How can you not love her big fluffy face with those black and white markings. She looks like a female Sylvester. Lili is so sweet and lovable. Lili loves to be carried around and loved on. Such an affectionate young lady that likes to give hugs. Lili has had trauma to her back end which prevents her from jumping. We would like to see her in a home without stairs. Story
Epic was rescued off the streets of a major city. The video we received of him showed Epic looking for food next to a very busy street. He was dirty and matted. So sad. Epic is a lovely buff, long haired boy. Despite being dumped no fault of his own he has such a gentle caring personality. He is a quiet cat. He loves gentle soft petting and head scratches. He can be a little spooked of quick movements and sudden loud noises. Epic would do best in a quiet home without children. He gets along beautifully with other cats. Not tested on dogs. He will make a wonderful devoted companion. He deserves a chance to be loved and cared for. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Manny is a stunning medium to long hair male cat rescued off the mean streets. He is safe now. Manny has the most fluffy ruff that surrounds his face. Could be some Maine coon in him. Part Persian. Not sure. Manny has never met a human or cat he does not like. He craves attention. Can be a bit needy at first. Boy, can he play. He needs a large space with a lot of activity. He was in a small apartment for a month and the family realized he has to be able to run around and explore. Extremely active. Manny needs stimulation so another active cat is paramount. He will do great with kids and probably a dog. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

Story
Atlas was found on the street with little boys terrorizing him. Thank God a kind lady grabbed him and took him away. She was too afraid Atlas would go back to that area so she grabbed him and took him to safety. Atlas is a long haired white boy with stunning big yellow eyes. We think he is part Persian and maybe has some Turkish van in him due to his very silky fur. He has blossomed in his foster home once he felt safe. Loves to be petted and doted on. Gets along famously with other cats. We would like to see him in a home with Persian or long haired cat experience. These cats need regular brushing and care. Fostered in Fairfax, VA

PLEASE READ: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, please apply online at www.catdogfriendrescue.com. Please do NOT call or send inquiries via Adopt A Pet or PetFinder as we are a small rescue and cannot handle a large influx of inquiries and phone calls. You can email us at acatsfriendinc@gmail.com if you have questions, but if you would like to be considered for adoption, you must fill out an application. Please note if you are applying for a kitten under six months of age, you must have another friendly kitty in the home or adopt another kitten. Additionally, unless otherwise indicted that this animal is a purebred, all of our animals are rescues and the "breed" selection is a best guess based on their apperance as we have no way of knowing their specific breeds.  Out of state adoptions (outside Virginia/DC/Maryland) do require three years of excellent past or current veterinary references. We look forward to hearing from you!  Adoption Fee includes spay/neuter and microchip insertion.  Please note these are not pedigree animals and we have no way of attesting if any of them are hypoallergenic and as such cannot adopt to homes with allergies. ##2673540##

Story
Barf (named after John Candy's character in Space Balls) just turned 2. I'm rehoming him because we recently lost our other cat and following that Barf and our elderly dog have stopped getting along. I'm worried that the dog will hurt the cat, so they are being kept separate, but that isn't a good long term solution. He is good with other cats, a bit dominant though. Previously good with dogs, so unknown how other dogs would be, tolerant of children. Will let himself be held, very playful. Not a lap cat, but is always in the vicinity. He needs to be brushed once a week or so, and needs a hygiene trim monthly. I do those myself and he doesn't love it, but tolerates it. He'll let himself be bathed (prefers hand wand in shower to sinks or tubs).

Story
Note: Nova needs a new foster home - no other pets!  Nova’s Personality DOB: 5/1/2019 Meet Nova...a beautiful, affectionate, playful, and chatty girl who just wants to be close to her humans. Need a bodyguard for the bathroom? She's got you covered! Nova even checks in after you take a shower just to make sure you're okay. This sweet fluffy girl loves to cuddle up in your lap with a cozy blanket and may even curl her paws to hold your hand while she snoozes. She just wants to be your little shadow. Nova also loves playing with her humans. She chases after a laser, leaps to the highest heights to catch a tossed fluffy ball, and loves tackling feathered wand toys. She enjoys lots of petting and even being brushed for short periods. But mostly, she just wants to curl up close by, knowing you will keep her safe. What Type of Home Nova Needs Nova needs a quieter home without other pets or young children - now or in the future. An older child in a quiet home would be fine if the child knows how to interact with cats. She needs to have a stable, loving home that will give her a little time to adapt. Nova may be shy at first with new people, but she quickly warms up to a peaceful, loving home environment. Where Nova Came From Nova was recently adopted from a shelter by a kind woman who has given her a loving home. However, her resident cat has not accepted her. To give Nova the right home environment, SPCA has agreed to find Nova a new home that gives her the peace and stability she needs to thrive. Nova was in her original home since she was a kitten until her family added two other cats, a dog and two children to their home. When Nova didn't adapt well to these changes, they surrendered her to a shelter. PLEASE NOTE:  we only adopt to residents of the DC metro area, which includes DC, Prince Georges and Montgomery Counties in MD, and Arlington, Fairfax, Prince William, and Loudoun Counties in VA. Please see our adoption guidelines at  https://spcanova.org/about-us/adoption-policies/. May 11, 2026, 7:57 pm

Story
Chloe is a gorgeous, long-haired girl who has recently come into AWLA`s care. Her foster reports that Chloe is `the snuggliest girl.` She is happy to spend time with her foster family, as well as with guests, and gladly seeks out available laps.During the day, Chloe enjoys hanging out on the couch or watching the world go by from her new cat tree. She likes to alternate which family member gets the pleasure of her company overnight and is not shy about waking her foster mom up in the morning for some attention. Chloe reportedly is a bit of a `meower,` which makes her great at communication. Chloe is good about being groomed, which means he beautiful, long coat can be maintained with some regular attention. If you are interested in adopting Chloe, please email her foster at fannychao1125@gmail.com to schedule a virtual meet and greet. Story
Poor Snuggle Muffin (aka Winnie)...was adopted from us in Oct '23 and, according to her adopters, has been the best cat !! But unfortunately due to some recent medical problems, her adopter will be moving closer to family for support and they are very allergic to cats. Because of this, they will not be able to bring sweet Snuggle Muffin with them. Snuggle Muffin is a beautiful 6 yr. old feline who is waiting to fill your life with warmth and affection. This lovely girl was originally found as a stray. She's a true testament to her name...a gentle and loving soul who longs to be close to her human companions. Snuggle Muffin may take a day or two to adjust to new surroundings, but once she feels comfortable, she'll be your loyal and devoted companion. She loves nothing more than twining against your legs, enjoying gentle strokes, and basking in the warmth of your presence. She's a pro at making herself at home on your lap or lay right on your chest and sleep as close as she can to you. With a cute little meow and a gentle purr, Snuggle Muffin's presence is a calming and comforting addition to any home. Those big, fluffy paws add an extra touch of charm to her already adorable personality. Best as an only cat, Snuggle Muffin would thrive in a calm and loving environment. A patient and compassionate owner or family who can appreciate her sensitive nature and give her the time she needs to adjust would be perfect for her. No young children. She is microchipped and up-to-date medically. Posted 4/25/26
