Story
Mack, brown tabby male , and Eden, orange/white female, met in foster care, arriving from the same shelter and quickly became friends. They play, sleep and hang out together. Mack is confident and very affectionate; the snuggly one of the duo. He'll come right up to you, ready to shower you with love. His outgoing and engaging spirit will warm your heart. Eden takes a minute to decide that you're safe. She enjoys being pet and will purr with delight but likes to keep her feet on the ground ! Her playful spirit will keep you entertained for hours. These 10-12 week old friends love chasing toys and each other with enthusiasm that only a kitten can muster! Best of both worlds! These kittens are a package deal, and they must be adopted together. Sorry, not suited for a home with young children. They've been each other's best friends from day one, and are ready to share their love with you. Posted 7/19/24 Note: due to their young age, these kittens will need additional vaccinations and spay/neuter when old enough. We are happy to provide a list of low cost option for this important surgery. First free exam at any Caring Hands Animal Hospital also included.
We'll also keep you updated on Eden 'n Mack-Friends's adoption status with email updates.

Story
Mia just turned 5 years old this month and has been with me since 8 weeks old. She was given to me by a friend who’s cat had kittens. She is very independent, but also loves to cuddle and get pets on her time. Mia is such a curious girl and loves to go outside to take walks in her stroller. She absolutely loves looking out the window and sunbathing during her naps in the daytime. She is such a loyal cat when she gets to know you and enjoys just being near you. I am looking for someone who loves cats and will give Mia the very best treatment. Mia has lived with one other cat and did well with him after about a week of transition time. Mia would do best with someone who does not have small children.

Story
Female, DLH, approx 1 years old Stormy has put in her time as a mom to five, and now that they're ready to leave the nest, she is ready for a home alllllll her own. She's an adults-only/older kids household kind of cat, but that doesn't mean she's mean or anything, she just likes the quiet life. Stormy has somewhat limited eyesight, which makes her tend toward the uncomfortable side when she's in a new space, and she might even growl a little bit at imaginary monsters that live out past where she can see clearly. During this new environment time, Stormy finds it super helpful if you chat with her and let her know what's going on. Once she has had a couple days to settle in and figure out that the coast is clear (no monsters in the shadows), she gets super comfortable with her human. And when that happens, she'll become your fast friend. Stormy absolutely loves to get pets and is super affectionate. She can't wait to find her forever home, so apply today to meet Stormy! *See more Stormy cuteness on Instagram @peanutmoonlightfoster ________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Apply for a CAT: https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/adoptable-cats.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats. Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Cat specific vetting: Rabies, FVRCP. Cats are tested for FIV and FeLV, when age appropriate, but not when born to a FELV/FIV negative mother in foster care. Kittens have age-appropriate vetting to date, which includes deworming, microchip, and the first FVRCP vaccine. Kittens born in care to a negative mother will not receive a FIV/FeLV test. An adopter will need to agree to cover costs of spay/neuter when he/she is age-appropriate (usually 16-20 weeks) and will need to continue his/her kitten vaccines (including rabies) as he/she grows older. Kittens under 12 weeks of age must be adopted in pairs or to a home with friendly resident feline. They will not be considered as singles.

Story
Female, DLH, approx 2 years old Personality: friendly, outgoing, talkative Hi. I'm Janice. I'm a fabulous long-haired tortie with pretty yellow eyes and a distinct orange mitten on my front paw. It sets me apawt. I'm an outgoing lady that's pretty sweet and I even tolerate the doggo in my sitter's home. I like to sit beside my human on the couch. It's pretty comfy and I can do a big stretch there, too. I can equally live and be happy in small spaces, which is a plus. I'm not a complete diva! I will especially love you if you have those really cool feather wands and a KONG Kickeroo. Once I finish playing, I like to do a scratch on the post my foster mom has for me. I think I'm a pretty good gal. Let's exchange info or, better yet, come meet me! ________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.
