Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure Pochocco #1 finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours  (please check your spam folder for our emails) .   Pochacco | 5–6-month-old Husky | A shy soul with a playful husky heart Pochacco (affectionately called “Muchacho” by his foster family) is a young Husky pup who is still learning that the world—and the humans in it—can be a safe and wonderful place. At just 5–6 months old, he’s a big boy already and growing into his classic husky personality: playful, curious, vocal at times, and full of potential. Pochacco is still working on house training and is very close, though adopters should expect some regression in a new environment. He does best when crated while humans are away or at night, as he is very much in his “naughty husky puppy” stage and will happily chew on items left within reach. Pochacco is extremely shy with people and currently fearful of leashes, making walks a work in progress. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, his fosters believe he will gain confidence over time. For now, he gets his exercise playing chase and wrestling with other dogs in the yard, which is where he truly shines. He is very much a “dog’s dog” and absolutely loves other dogs, happily playing as long as they’ll tolerate him. He does well with cats, mostly ignoring them unless another dog starts a chase. This sweet boy loves toys, treats, and other dogs, and while he isn’t quite ready for cuddles yet, he enjoys being near his people and observing from a comfortable distance. Pochacco will need a calm, patient adopter with husky experience (or a strong willingness to learn), a securely fenced yard, and a commitment to ongoing training, socialization, and exercise. With time and understanding, Pochacco has all the makings of a loyal, fun-loving companion who just needs someone willing to let him move at his own pace.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $450 (includes a $50 refundable puppy training deposit). Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls. PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! For more information, please contact Destination Rescue Dogs at info@destinationrescue.org or amber.schroeder@gmail.com or call 602-743-0006   Meet Sasha! Found wandering along railroad tracks with her two puppies, Sasha was heartbreakingly thin and struggling to survive. She protected her little family with everything she had, but when rescued, it was clear she was exhausted and malnourished. Fortunately, her foster mom found her and took amazing care of her!  Sasha is thriving in her foster home and ready to find her forever family! Sasha is the perfect blend of playful energy and loyal companionship. This gorgeous girl is the kind of dog who’ll make every day a little brighter, whether she’s chasing after her favorite ball or curling up at your feet after a long day. Sasha absolutely lives for a good game of fetch, she could play for hours if you let her, always ready with that eager tail wag and happy grin that says, “One more throw, please!” When it’s time to relax, Sasha knows how to settle in. She’s crate trained, completely house trained, and loves nothing more than being near her people snuggled close while you watch your favorite show or unwind for the evening. She walks beautifully on a leash or harness, making her the perfect adventure buddy for anyone who enjoys strolls around the neighborhood or exploring the trails. Sasha would thrive with an active family or someone willing to throw the ball for her every day. She gets along well with other dogs but would be just as happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. In every way, Sasha is ready to be someone’s best friend, playful, loving, loyal, and full of heart. If you’re looking for a dog who will bring laughter, companionship, and endless games of fetch into your life, Sasha is waiting to meet you. Sasha is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 48 lbs. Sasha is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but is available for transport to many locations across the country. Transport fee is included in her adoption fee.December 25, 2025, 10:44 am

Story
Sophie was found on a rural road in Soth Texas with her brother. Clearly they were dumped like so many other young pups. Good Samaritans stop them from being hit by cars. Sophie is a sweet girl with a very independent personality. She's a laid back lady that's content with playing outside or being a couch potato. She's VERY smart and true to her being part Malinois catches on quickly. Shet gets a long dogs and does well with cats. She needs a person or a family to call her own. Open your heart and home to sweet Sophie and adopt her today.  Sophie does really well with other dogs and cats but we aren't sure if she's been around children. She would benefit from an active Colorado lifestyle of hiking, running and trips to the dog park.  Sophie is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring her up and into their home for the holidays. Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa. Story
Meet Wonder aka Soda Pop (aka Pop Pop, Poppy, Sodie… the list goes on)! This gorgeous husky girl has lived through more than her fair share of hardship. She miraculously survived a life of neglect and a severe dog attack that cost her a leg—but not her spirit. True to her breed, Poppy is spicy, independent, and full of personality. The trauma she endured left both physical and emotional scars, but thanks to the dedication of her foster and trainer, she’s learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for—maybe for the very first time. Poppy still has some healing to do, and she continues to work on her resource guarding and trust issues. She’s not a “love at first sight” kind of dog—you earn her heart. But once she lets you in, her loyalty and affection are absolutely priceless. Poppy needs a skilled, experienced adopter who understands her boundaries, will be patient with her progress, and is committed to continuing her training journey. The good news? She comes with a dedicated team ready to support both her and her adopter every step of the way, even after the transition.     •    Cats? Yes, with slow introductions.     •    Dogs? She’s had some positive experiences, but due to her trauma and inconsistency, she’ll do best as the only dog.     •    Kids? No thank you. Poppy is a survivor, a firecracker, and a loyal companion waiting for the right person to see her worth. Could that person be you? This girl has been through it! She was tethered to a tree in a backyard in San Antonio, Texas when two dogs jumped over the fence and attacked her. She ultimately lost her leg. So after coming through the attack, losing her leg and healing, she was still in the predicament of being at San Antonio ACS (Animal Care Services) and ultimately placed on the euthanasia list. After overcoming so much we knew she was a special girl and are so happy we saved her! She now has a bright future before her in Colorado! Wonder has made the journey North from San Antonio, Texas and is being fostered in Denver, available to meet.
