Story
Sleek in her silvery-gray coat, 18-month-old Snow is 40 pounds worth of four-legged sweetness! Extremely easygoing and friendly, she cherishes the cozy companionship of her foster mom, rolling over for belly rubs and then dancing and prancing prettily about the house. Highly and happily energetic, she loves going for walks, walking wonderfully on leash, engaging with other energetic dogs, playing games of fetch and chewing bones. While Snow enjoys tougher chews that keep her constructively entertained, she, of course, loves stuffies that she can rip apart. She gets along well with the resident cats, is motivated by food, toys and love, currently knows “sit” and “no,” accepts all treats gently, is crate trained and is almost fully house-trained. Now all sweet, social Snow needs is a loving home to complete her training, including her commands, and ensure that’s she kept happily active fur-ever.   Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application received in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all DAPP boosters after adoption. Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for any rabies vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls at this time.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Hi there, I'm Jake the Dog! I am a 10 month old Husky/Alaskan Malamute mix. Life in the shelter is fun, but I'm dreaming of a forever home. I'm still young, full of energy and I love to play! I'm smart too. I'm as sweet as can be, always ready for a cuddle or a belly rub. I'm also friendly, I get along with everyone I meet. But what I really want is a family to call my own. Someone who will play with me, teach me new tricks, and give me lots of love. If you're looking for a smart, playful, and sweet dog, I'm your guy! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! ##2006586##

Story
Hiya, I'm Chester! I'm on stray hold until 04/08/24. I'm a sweet, friendly, independent, smart, playful, and energetic pooch. I ended up here in the shelter because of my love for squirrels. One day, I saw a squirrel, and my paws had a mind of their own! I chased it through the park, across the city, and right into the shelter! Can you believe that? I've been told I have a knack for comedic timing. I'm looking for a forever home with someone who appreciates my squirrel-chasing antics and my love for a good laugh. I promise to fill your life with laughter, energy, and unconditional love. Adopt me and let's create a story full of fun and adventure together! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Story
Trooper Shepard Mix Male 2 years old 64 lbs Trooper is a bundle of love, energy and joy. He’s an ideal companion for active individuals or families who can provide him with the love and attention he craves. He’s always up for an adventure and will make every day a new and exciting experience. Trooper is your ideal partner for an active lifestyle. He adores long walks, Sunday runs and enjoys taking breaks to check out the squirrels along the way. He's even completed his first 5K with enthusiasm, so if you're a runner, he's your perfect sidekick. A true Colorado dog! This sweet boy loves being pet and will randomly roll on the grass for a minute or two, just for the joy of it. He enjoys cuddles and will often rest his head on your lap, expecting your love. If you pause, he might gently paw at you for more affection. He's super friendly and loves people in general. Trooper is a breeze to bathe, staying calm and still during the process. He's also familiar with commands like "sit," "stay," and "stop," making him well-behaved and responsive. Plus, he's fully potty trained and has never had an accident. Trooper adores his super chewer toys—they're his go-to for staying calm during long stretches alone. Not only do they keep him from nibbling on household items, but they also set him up for a paw-sitively successful day! Trooper excelled in doggie day care and has had one-on-one play dates with other dogs, showing that he gets along with them. Trooper is gradually gaining more experience with other dogs and each day he seems more eager to meet them! He just tends to get a bit too excited at first and then calms down as he gets acquainted. He has also shown curiosity towards stray cats, but hasn't displayed signs of aggression. Given his high energy levels, Trooper would greatly benefit from having a yard where he can run and play. If you're an active individual or family seeking a loving and lively companion, Trooper might be your perfect match. Trooper is all set to dive into new adventures, bringing heaps of joy and excitement into your life. With a dash of patience and ongoing training, Trooper is destined to be your loyal adventure buddy, always ready to fill your days with happiness. Ready to adopt the sweetest forever companion? Please learn more about the adoption process and fill out an application at https://pawsco.org/adopt/adoption-process. Or contact my friends at PawsCo at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org if you have questions. I look forward to meeting you!
