Story
Hello! I'm Stella. But my friends call me Stella Bella. Before we go any further, I'd like to ask an important question: Do you have a job opening? Because I'm pretty sure I was born to work. I'm about 50 pounds of brains, beauty, and enthusiasm, and if you ask the girls that rescued me, they'll tell you I'm one of the smartest dogs they've ever met. Personally, I don't like to brag... Okay, that's not true. I absolutely like showing off my skills. Want to see me sit? Easy. Lay down? Done. High five? You got it. Spin? Absolutely. Touch? Of course. Bark on command? Happy to. Need help solving a puzzle toy? I'll have it figured out before you've finished reading the instructions. My favorite thing in the world is having something to do. Walks, runs, training sessions, puzzle games, sniff mats, lick trays, chasing balls, learning new tricks—sign me up for all of it. I come from a long line of "must stay busy" dogs, and while nobody is quite sure what mix I am, it's very clear that somebody in my family tree was serious about having a job. You may also notice my eyes. One blue. One brown. They're pretty hard to forget. My shelter moms says my ears are equally impressive. They're always listening for important information, like "Want to go for a walk?" or "Who's a good girl?" or "Ready to learn something new?" When I'm not busy being brilliant, I have a softer side too. I enjoy cuddling, getting pets, and simply hanging out with my people. I'm not the type who needs to be in your lap every second, but I love being nearby. Think of me as your loyal assistant, always ready for the next adventure but perfectly content relaxing beside you after a job well done. I get along well with other dogs and love a good romp. In fact, I sometimes like to herd my dog friends around just to make sure everyone is staying organized. Somebody has to supervise, right? I'm athletic, active, and always ready to go. Because of my impressive jumping abilities, I'll need a home with a secure 6-foot privacy fence. A chain-link fence is basically a suggestion in my mind, and I've been known to demonstrate that. My ideal family will be experienced, active, and excited about having a dog who wants to participate in life. I don't just want a backyard—I want adventures, training sessions, games, walks, and opportunities to use this very busy brain of mine. What I'm really looking for is a partner. Someone who sees a smart dog and thinks, "Let's learn things together." Someone who wants a hiking buddy, a training buddy, a walking buddy, and a best friend. Someone who appreciates that behind these beautiful eyes is a dog who wants a purpose, a challenge, and a family to love. If you're looking for a couch potato, I'm probably not your girl. But if you're looking for a brilliant sidekick who will make you laugh, impress your friends, and happily join you on every adventure, I think we might be the perfect match. Now...What are we learning next? Love, Stella Bella

Story
Charlie, our friend with City of Raytown Animal Services, was found running loose, completely terrified. After being rescued, Charlie was diagnosed with parvo. The girl just couldn't catch a break. Now she's happy, healthy, and is ready to find her forever home! She's about 8 months old, is good on leash, and loves other dogs! Charlie is learning to do dog things and has started playing chase and with toys, too. She's going to need some time to warm up to new people, but really, who can blame her? Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info on this beautiful girl. She's in the Kansas City metro, but transport is available to the right home.
