Story
Huxley is an energetic pup, looking for an active family who will take him on lots of adventures! His foster mom reports he is house trained, crate trained, knows basic commands (sit, come, heal, down, yes, and no), loves toys, and having fun with other larger dogs. He walks nicely on leash, and is very treat motivated, making him super easy to train. He loves to play with other dogs but with his high activity level, it is best any potential dogs meet him to make sure they are as playful as he is. Notes from our trainer " Huxley is very response to positive reinforcement training. We have been working on touch, middle, leash skills, and impulse control exercises. He is doing great during our sessions. He loves attention, very affectionate, and wants to be close to you. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! At the time of adoption all dogs are signed up with a unique Safe Paws QR pet ID tag, the adopter is required to maintain a monthly membership of $2.99/month for (at minimum) the first year. This helps insure your new furry family member makes his way back to you if lost. Leashes and collars are also required at the time of adoption. You are welcome to bring your own, or we have plenty to chose from at the shelter as well. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Story
Spayed Female     Age: 3-5    Size: 55-65 lbs Jambalaya was rescued from life on the streets where her previous owners left her outdoors to roam downtown kansas city and did not provide her shelter or care. Neighbors saw that she was losing her hair and looked thin, so they contacted us to step in. We were able to get her signed over to our care and have begun treatment for her mange which was the cause of her hair loss. Jambalaya is very sweet, affectionate, loves walks, and loves snacks! She has tested well with dogs around her size and would love a home where she can be a couch potato! She is fairly laid back as long as she gets her regular walks and outside time. She does get anxious in kennels and would love a home with someone who could be home with her more often than not, or would take her along on adventures! If you'd like to meet Jambalaya, please fill out our online dog adoption application at kcpaws.orgOctober 1, 2024, 9:15 am
