Story
Meet Big Jon! Somewhere along the way, this sweet old hound was forgotten. Found wandering the streets down South, Big Jon ended up without the one thing every dog deserves - a family to call his own.   But here's the thing... Big Jon hasn't given up. At around 8 years old, he still greets each day with a wagging tail, a curious nose, and hope in his heart!   He wants to follow you from room to room and then plop himself next to you on the couch. He'll happily sniff every blade of grass outside and soak up the sunshine. He'll serenade you with his happy hound songs and greet you with excited tippy taps when you come home! And - just maybe - he can convince you to share a bite of whatever snack you're eating.   Big Jon is doing wonderfully in his foster home! He's loving car rides, doing well with house training, and settles nicely in his crate while you're away... and he is eager to keep learning! He's already made canine friends and would be happy to meet a dog sibling.   Senior dogs are so often overlooked, but they have something so special to offer. His floppy ears, soulful brown eyes, and gentle heart tell a story of resilience.. Will you be Big Jon's forever person and happily ever after?August 7, 2026, 2:02 pm

Story
~AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION~ This handsome fella is 3yr old, 65lb, mixed hound/bully breed named Marley. Marley came to us from a high kill shelter in North Carolina where he was surrendered for his family having too many dogs. Marley is as sweet as they come. He loves to love everyone he meets. Marley has shown he is good with kids while at his NC foster home. He tolerates his crate and will probably find it more enjoyable once he can expend his energy after his heartworm treatment is complete. He is housebroken and does well on leash. He enjoys spending time with people and is just happy to be a part of the family.  As well as arriving to the shelter a bit under weight Marley was found to be heartworm positive and is undergoing treatment in our rescue. Marley receives his second round of injections the week of April 20th. His heartworm treatment is paid for by us (the rescue) and upon completion he will be heartworm free and needs to remain on monthly heartworm preventative (as all dogs should) for the remainder of his life to prevent this from happening again.  Marley is microchipped, up to date on vaccines and preventatives with an adoption fee of $375. Marley is not yet neutered but an appointment will be made via the rescue after his heartworm treatment is completed. If you think this handsome hunk of love would make a wonderful addition to your family please fill out our adoption application at: https://form.jotform.com/fairytailsrescuemd/dogpuppy-adoption-application Thanks!  August 5, 2026, 1:55 pm

Story
Meet Fable: Fable is a one year old (as of October 2024) plott hound mix (best guess) that weighs 36 pounds. This rootin tootin cowboy litter of 3 (Farley, Farris and Fable) are sure to steal some hearts! These cuties were found abandoned in a rural area and luckily made it to our rescue. Fable is currently being fostered in the south and would love to take the freedom ride north to Pennsylvania to meet more prospective families. Fable is a sweet, playful handsome boy that is looking for his very own family! To put it simply, Fable is a big love bug! He just wants to be with his person and that’s what makes him happiest! Fable loves playing with toys and exploring around the dog yard. In the play yard he avoids rough play with the other foster dogs and likes to hang with the easy going ones. Fable has a gentle spirit and lots of love to give! Fable is working on his house training. We would love for Fable to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely! Fable is up to date on his shots and neutered. If you are interested in adopting this cute cowboy, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness.   Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people.  Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. Mika's adoption fee is $500.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 28, 2026, 9:58 am

Story
Men are from Mars :0 Remember that theory? Men from Mars and women from Venus?? So I AM MARS!! lol and I am a male!! SO MISUNDERSTOOD!! (all women rolling their eyes :) I am a big puppy... At the rescue again after being adopted in 2020!! :( I was returned by my "family" for something the rescue did before i left as a puppy- socialize me... SO, this is the thing... when you adopt a puppy especially, take the time to SOCIALIZE them all different situations and all different people and other animals.... it is your responsibility. WE committed to Mars so if his "family" gave up on him, we would not! He is back with the rescue and looking for his FOREVER HOME! Do NOT apply to adopt him if you are not committed to him, cause he deserves better!! He is a sweet and loving guy, active and BIG so must be a good leader and must keep him happy and exercised and loved!! Local adoption fee is $300 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)
