She is friendly and gentle. She will need time to adjust to new expectations. She has never been in a house. She has only lived in a kennel, instead of doing the hunting she would rather run in the woods and play, so she needs to be a pet. She is sweet but timid and would love to have a family to love and play with. We do transport with Rescue Riders Pet Transport. One of the most animal friendly transports on the road. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mika arrived from Puerto Rico with her travel companions, and we are delighted to have this bundle of happiness. Mika is a Sato dog which is a street or beach dog from Puerto Rico. The Sato refers to a variety of small to medium-sized stray dog. Satos are similar in appearance to small Pointers or Terriers. These free-ranging dogs are known to make excellent family pets. Unlike other feral dogs, the Satos have a small territory, and many are always in contact with people. Mika was referred to as a Labrador/Plott Hound mix by the veterinarians who vetted her in Puerto Rico. Whatever she is, she sure is sweet. Mika is described by the folks who cared for her at Punta Santiago who rescued her as "amazing with dogs of all sizes, super people friendly, and having no food aggression." She is very happy and friendly and will make a perfect lap dog for some lucky family. Mika is approximately a year old and cat tolerant with supervision. We are looking for an adoptive family or foster home. Xena is a 3-year-old Plott Hound mix weighing 52 pounds. A delightful girl, she came to us from a family who didn't want her or her ten puppy litter. How sad! But of course that's where we came in. Xena's foster says she is sweet, affectionate, playful, great with other dogs and very food motivated. (Better keep a box of bones around the house!)
